AICTE Scholarship 2024

AICTE runs several scholarships for students of India to help them pursue higher education without facing any financial difficulty. Some renowned AICTE scholarships include Saksham Scholarship, Pragati Scholarship, AICTE PG scholarship, Prime Minister Special Scholarship Scheme and National Doctoral Fellowship.

AICTE Scholarship 2024 – Eligibility

Who can apply for an AICTE scholarship? What are the key eligibility conditions that you need to fulfil? Each AICTE scholarship has its own set of eligibility conditions that you need to keep in mind. While the Saksham scholarships are available for students with disabilities, the Pragati scholarship aims at helping female students. Similarly, other scholarships too, have their distinctive eligibility conditions for the students. Know in detail about them in the table given below.

Detailed Eligibility of AICTE Scholarships

AICTE-Saksham Scholarship Scheme
  • The scholarship is open for differently-abled students who have a disability of not less than 40%.
  • The students must be admitted in the first year or second year (through lateral entry) of a technical diploma/degree course at an AICTE-recognised institution.
  • The annual income of the family should be less than ₹8,00,000 from all sources.
AICTE Pragati Scholarship for Girls
  • The scholarship is open for female candidates who have taken admission to the first year or second year (through lateral entry) of a technical diploma/degree course at an AICTE-approved institution/college.
  • The annual income of the family should not be more than ₹8,00,000.
  • Only two females per family can apply for the scholarship.
AICTE PG (GATE/GPAT) Scholarship
  • The students who have obtained qualifying marks in GATE/GPAT can apply.
  • The students must have taken admission in the first year of M.E./M.Tech./M.Pharma./M.Arch. courses at an AICTE-recognised institution/college.
  • Having a general savings account is also mandatory for students.
  • Candidates pursuing part-time courses cannot apply.
AICTE-National Doctoral Fellowship Scheme
  • The fellowship is open to research scholars who have taken admission in an AICTE-recognised research institute.
  • The minimum CGPA score obtained by the student in both B.E./B.Tech./B.Pharm. and M.E./M.Tech./M. Pharm. should be 7.5 on the scale of 10 or 75% or above or equivalent. (Note: For SC/ST/PH candidates the CGPA requirement is 7.0 on the scale of 10 or 70% or above or equivalent).
  • The student must have qualified for the GATE/GPAT during the last 5 years.
  • The age of the student should be less than 30 years as on the last date of the application. (Note: A relaxation of 5 years is given to SC/ST/Women/PH candidates.
Prime Minister Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS), J&K
  • Only students, who are domiciled in Jammu & Kashmir can apply for this scholarship.
  • They must be Class 12 passed students from J&K Board or CBSE-affiliated schools in J&K.
  • The students who have completed their diploma after Class 10 from J&K State Polytechnics can also apply and get direct entry into the degree program on the vacant seats in the professional category.
  • The students must be willing to pursue a regular general/professional/medical degree course from the prescribed list of colleges in PMSSS outside the state.
  • The annual income of the family should be ₹8,00,000 or below.

AICTE Scholarship 2023 – Selection Process

Mere fulfilment of eligibility conditions does not guarantee that you will receive the scholarship amount. Being an apex body, AICTE follows a standardised procedure for the selection of scholars. Every scholarship has its own set of selection criteria/procedures that you can find in the table below. While some scholarships consider the academic merit of the students in the last qualifying examination, some consider the scores obtained by them in GATE/GPAT. AICTE-National Doctoral Fellowship Scheme The fellows are initially shortlisted by the office of the Principal Coordinator and then by the concerned institute/department.

After the shortlisting, the students are called for the interview round in the concerned departments.

Buddy4Study - Education Loan

The final selection will be made based on recommendations of various institutions by the National Nodal Centre.
Prime Minister Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS), J&K The scholars will be selected on merit basis as per the marks obtained by them through online counselling from PMSSS portal.
