CG Scholarship 2021 – Complete List, Application Timeline, Awards

CG scholarship, provided by the Social Welfare Department of the Chhattisgarh state has been assisting and granting opportunities to students belonging to the SC/ST/OBC/Minority classes. By far, the government of Chhattisgarh has disbursed CG scholarship of up to INR 165 crore to over 2,75,000 students. The scholarship amount for the state has increased by almost 5-6 times as compared to the past years. Under the ‘Shiksha Sahyog Scholarship’ scheme, students from pre-matric and post-matric level are being provided with an education grant every six months. Additionally, under the ‘Shiksha Protsahan’ scheme, the students pursuing professional education have also been receiving scholarships and assistance from the government.

CG Scholarship – A Thorough List

The government of Chhattisgarh provides various CG scholarship opportunities to the meritorious and deserving students of the state in order to help them to continue and complete their education. The students can obtain complete information and apply for these scholarships through the online CG e-portal of the Social Welfare Department named Chhattisgarh State Scholarship Portal 2.0. CG Scholarship – Eligibility Criteria

Each CG scholarship comes with certain limitations and criterions associated with them. Before you head on to apply for any scholarship, you should be aware of each and every eligibility criteria. One of the most common criteria that applies to all CG scholarships is that the students must be domicile of Chhattisgarh state.  Furthermore, the eligibility criteria vary from scheme to scheme. The table below provides a detailed account of eligibility criteria for all the scholarships.

  • The applicant should be studying at the pre-matric level of education.
  • The annual family income of the applicant should not exceed INR 2 Lakh.
2. Rajya Chatra Vritti Scheme SC/ST/OBC
  • The applicant should either be an SC/ST girl student in class 3 to 5 or an SC/ST/OBC student belonging to class 6 to 8
  • The family of the applicant should not fall under the Income Tax.
  • The family of the applicant should not possess more than 10 acres of land.
3. Post Matric Scholarship for SC/ST/OBC Students SC/ST/OBC
  • The annual family income of the student should not exceed INR 2.50 Lakh in case of SC/ST applicants.
  • The annual family income shall not exceed an amount of INR 1 Lakh in case of OBC applicants.
  • They must be studying at the post-matriculation level.
4. Kanya Saksharta Protsahan Yojana SC/ST
  • The applicant should be a girl student.
  • The applicant should be a student of class 5 or above.
5. Unclean Business Scholarship Scheme SC/ST/OBC
  • The applicant should be a student of class 1 to 5.
  • The scheme is eligible for selective occupations and not on a class, the students of families working in the following occupations are eligible:
    • Scavenging families
    • Flayer families
    • Tanners
    • Waste picking/ collecting families
  • No income limitations except the applicants need to mandatorily provide the annual income certificate of the family.
6. Chief Minister Gyan Protsahan Initiative Scheme For All
  • The applicant should be a student of either class 10 or 12.
  • The applicants should be meritorious students in their previous qualification.
  • The applicant should be studying in Chhattisgarh Secondary Education Board (CGBSE), Indian Council Secondary Education (ICSE) or Central Board of Secondary Education Board (CBSE).
7. Disabled Scholarship Scheme For All
  • The applicant should be a regular student of a School/College/Technical course.
  • The applicant should have 40% or above disability.
  • The income of the applicant’s family should be less than INR 8,000 per month.
8. DTE Chhattisgarh Scholarship For All
  • The applicants must have scored at least 60% marks in their class 12.
  • The institution from which the applicant has passed should be approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

CG Scholarship – Application Process

The application process for CG scholarship at pre-matric and post-matric level can be processed through one primary portal called the Chhattisgarh State Scholarship Portal 2.0  but the scholarship schemes generated by the other departments follow a different application procedure. CG Scholarship – Documents Required

The application process for each CG scholarship remains incomplete without supporting documents. There are some documents required by the students in order to verify their eligibility for the scholarship. Though the requirements may vary in accordance with different schemes, here is a generic list of the primary and major documents required in the maximum number of schemes in the state. The student needs to keep original as well as photocopies of the documents ready before applying for any CG scholarship. Here’s the list of documents by which the students should abide and be essentially prepared with:

  • Caste Certificate.
  • Recent Passport size photograph.
  • Income Certificate.
  • Self-attested Copy of last Qualifying Mark sheet/Certificate.
  • Residential proof.
  • Passbook Photocopy
  • Caste Certificate.
  • Aadhaar Card Number

CG Scholarship – Award Details

Most of the CG scholarships are means based and have been curated for students who necessarily need them to complete their education. The award decided for each scholarship also varies. While some scholarships offer financial assistance in the form of cash rewards, some offer help in the form of tuition fee waiver.   • The eligible OBC girl students will receive a scholarship worth INR 600 and boy students will receive worth INR 450 every year.
  • The eligible SC/ST girl students will receive a scholarship worth INR 1,000 and boy students will receive worth INR 800 every year.
2. Rajya Chatra Vritti Scheme
  • The eligible girl students from class 3 to 5 will receive a scholarship worth INR 500 every year.
  • The eligible SC/ST girl students from class 6 to 8 will receive a scholarship worth INR 800 and boys students will receive INR 600 every year.
  • The eligible OBC girl students will receive a scholarship worth INR 450 and boy students will receive INR 300 every year.
3. Post Matric Scholarship for SC/ST/OBC Students
  • The eligible SC/ST hostellers will receive a scholarship worth INR 3,800 and non-hostellers will receive INR 2,250 every year.
  • The eligible OBC candidates will receive –
    • For hostellers – INR 1,000 for students of class 11 and INR 1,100 for class 12 students.
    • For non-hostellers – INR 600 per annum for students of class 11 and INR 700 per annum for students of class 12.
4. Kanya Saksharta Protsahan Yojana
  • The eligible girl students will receive a scholarship worth INR 500 every year.
5. Unclean Business Scholarship Scheme
  • The eligible applicants will receive a scholarship worth INR 1,850 every year.
6. Chief Minister Gyan Protsahan Initiative Scheme
  • The selected students will receive a scholarship worth INR 15,000.
7. Disabled Scholarship Scheme
  • The eligible students will receive a scholarship in the following manner:
    • INR 150 to students from class 1 to 5
    • INR 170 to students from class 6 to 8
    • INR 190 to students from class 9 to 12
8. DTE Chhattisgarh Scholarship
  • The eligible students will receive a scholarship worth INR 2,000 per month.
