All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) invites applications for Prime Minister's Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS) 2019-20 from students in J&K. Launched in the academic year 2011-12, the scholarship aims to support the youth of J&K in pursuing higher education outside the state. It facilitates the access of quality education to students so as to equip them with knowledge, skills, experience and training for higher academic level/profession. Students selected for PMSSS can benefit from a scholarship of up to INR 3 lakh per annum along with other grants. PMSSS is a merit-based scholarship for the J&K youth only.

A total of 5000 scholarships will be awarded for students pursuing courses in General Degree, Engineering Degree, and Medical Streams. Students selected for the scholarship will receive the following benefits:

Follow the below steps to apply for PMSSS 2019-20:
Step 1: Visit the PMSSS 2019-20 registration portal.
Step 2: Select the category: '12th Registration' or 'Diploma Registration'.
Step 3: Fill the registration form with all the required details.
Step 4: Submit and correct any possible errors in the form.
Step 5: Verify the email through the link received on Email/SMS.
Step 6: Complete the registration.

Q. Are students passing 10+2 from Commerces stream eligible for engineering?
A. No. However, Commerce students can apply for the General course.
Q. Is document verification at Facilitation Centre necessary?
A. Yes. Students are not eligible for the scholarship without document verification.
Q. Is it possible to edit the application after submission?
A. Yes. The officer of facilitation centre can edit the online application form.
Q. What should the candidates do after the submission of online application form?
A. The candidates must take a print out of the filled application form and visit the nearest facilitation centre along with the original set of documents for verification.
Q. Will the candidates receive any document after the completion of verification?
A. The candidates must collect the student copy of the Document Verification Report from the facilitation centre.
