National Overseas Scholarship for Minority Community Students, Karnataka

Run by the Directorate of Minorities, Government of Karnataka, the scholarship is applicable for graduates, postgraduates and PhD scholars of Karnataka domicile who also belong to the Minority Community. The selected scholars under this scheme can receive financial aid of up to INR 20 Lakh for up to 2 years to pursue higher studies abroad.

Scheme of Overseas Scholarships for SC/ST Students, Karnataka

This Karnataka scholarship scheme is meant for students of Karnataka who belong to SC/ST category to allow them to pursue their masters and PhD level of studies abroad. Functional under the Social Welfare Department of Government of Karnataka, the scheme offers up to 100% financial assistance to selected students for their studies abroad.

Research Guidance PhD Fellowship for Backward Classes, Karnataka

Are you willing to pursue a full-time PhD program in the field of language, seminars, sociology, science and technology, agriculture and related sciences, technical and medical sciences, commerce and management? If yes, then this scheme of Department of Backward Classes Welfare, Government of Karnataka can help you gain appropriate research guidance for the same. The selected scholars can win INR 5,000 per month under this scheme.

Incentive for SSLC & 2nd PUC Students, Karnataka

This incentive scheme is run by the Minority Welfare Department, Directorate of Minorities, Government of the Karnataka to help students of the minority community. Students who have passed class 10 (SSLC) and class 12 (2nd PUC) with 85% of marks or above in the examinations conducted by Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board or Department of Pre-University Education will receive the benefits under this incentive scheme.

The top 1000 SSLC and top 1000 2nd PUC students of the minority community can win one-time incentive of INR 10,000 and INR 20,000 respectively.

Pre-Matric Scholarship for Minorities of Karnataka

The scholarship scheme is being offered by the Directorate of Minorities, Government of Karnataka to encourage the students belonging to minority community to continue their education without any financial constraint. The students of class 1st to 10th who have obtained 50% or more scores in the previous examination can apply for this scholarship. The scholarship covers the admission fee, tuition fee and maintenance allowance.

Post-Matric Scholarship for Minorities of Karnataka

This Karnataka scholarship aims at encouraging and providing financial assistance to the students of the minority community of the state to allow them to continue studies at post-matriculation level. Applicable mainly for students of communities such as Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Parsis, and Jains, the scholarship tends to cover the admission fee, maintenance allowance and tuition fee. Students studying in class 11th to PhD level are eligible to apply for this scholarship.

MPhil and PhD Fellowship for Minority Students, Karnataka

With an objective to provide financial assistance to the minority community of the Karnataka state, the scheme has been introduced by the Government of Karnataka. The students belonging to Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist and Parsi community who wants to study MPhil and PhD are eligible to apply for this scholarship.

Merit-Cum-Means Scholarship for Minorities, Karnataka

This is a popular scholarship for students belonging to minority communities who are willing to pursue a professional or technical course. Run by the Directorate of Minorities, Government of Karnataka, the scholarship offers rewards up to INR 30,000 to students who secure more than 50% marks in the previous examination and have annual family income less the INR 2.5 Lakh.

Vidyadhan Scholarship Program

Run by the Sarojini Damodaran Foundation, this scholarship program is applicable not only for students of Karnataka but also for Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra and Telangana. The class 10th passed students will get an annual scholarship of up to INR 6,000 to continue their studies in class 11th and 12th.

2. Scheme of Overseas Scholarships for SC/ST Students, Karnataka
  • The students belonging to SC or ST community can apply.
  • The students should have an admission letter for postgraduate or above courses from any reputed university in the world.
  • The streams of study that come under this scholarship are Humanities, Pure Sciences & applied sciences, International Commerce, Agriculture Sciences & Medicines, Engineering & Management, Social Science & Law, Accounting Finance etc.
  • The marks obtained by the applicant in the previous degree should be 60% or its equivalent grade.
  • The candidate should not be more than 35 years of age as on 1 June every year.
3. Research Guidance PhD Fellowship for Backward Classes, Karnataka
  • The candidates engaged in full-time PhD program under research guidance from a university or institution of Karnataka can apply.
  • The minimum percentage of marks obtained in the master’s degree program should be 55%.
  • The age of the candidate should not be more than 35 years.
  • You should also meet the income criteria as specified.
4. Incentive for SSLC & 2nd PUC Students, Karnataka
  • You must belong to the Minority community (Muslims, Christians, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis and Sikhs).
  • You must have passed class 10th or 12th with 85% marks or above.
5. Pre-Matric Scholarship for Minorities of Karnataka
  • The scheme is applicable for Minority community students.
  • The percentage of marks obtained by the student in previous annual examination should be more than 50%. (Not applicable for students of class 1st)
  • The students who are domicile of Karnataka but studying in some other state can apply.
  • The students belonging to other states who are studying in Karnataka cannot apply.
  • The family income of the applicant should not be more than INR 1 Lakh from all sources.
6. Post-Matric Scholarship for Minorities of Karnataka
  • Only minority community students can apply.
  • The students of class 11th to PhD level can apply.
  • The marks obtained in the previous qualifying examination should be 50% or above.
  • The annual family income should be more than INR 2 Lakh.
  • The students pursuing studies through correspondence or certificate/training level courses cannot apply.
  • The students belonging to other states who are studying in Karnataka cannot apply.

  • It is applicable only for Minority community students.
  • The student must be pursuing graduation or post-graduation in a professional/technical stream.
  • The marks obtained in the previous examination should be more than 50%.
  • The total annual family income from all sources should not exceed INR 2.5 Lakh.

  • The scheme is open only for Minority community candidates.
