Eligibility Criteria Students must be pursuing a full-time PhD course and must have scored 55% or more marks in a master’s degree.

The candidate should belong to Backward Classes Category-1, 2A, 3A or 3B as notified by the Government of Karnataka. 

The total annual family income limit for Category-1 is ₹4.50 Lakh, and for Category-2(A), 3(A), and 3(B) is ₹3.50 Lakh.

Incentive for SSLC & 2nd PUC Students, Karnataka

This incentive scheme is run by the Minority Welfare Department, Directorate of Minorities, Government of Karnataka, to support students from minority communities. Under this scheme, students will receive a one time help from the Karnataka state government.

Benefits The top 1000 SSLC and top 1000 2nd PUC students from minority communities will receive one-time incentives of ₹10,000 and ₹20,000, respectively.

Pre-Matric Scholarship for Minorities of Karnataka

The scholarship scheme is offered by the Directorate of Minorities, Government of Karnataka, to encourage students from minority communities to continue their education without financial constraints. The scholarship covers the admission fee, tuition fee, and maintenance allowance.

This Karnataka scholarship aims to encourage and provide financial assistance to students from minority communities in the state, enabling them to continue their studies at the post-matriculation level. Students must belong to a needy family. The scholarship is for students who have completed their Class 10 exam.

MPhil and PhD Fellowship for Minority Students, Karnataka

With the objective of providing financial assistance to the minority communities of Karnataka state, the scheme has been introduced by the Government of Karnataka. To be eligible for the fellowship, students must be enrolled in a full-time course, and they will receive the scholarship amount based on the course they pursue.

The selected students will receive a reimbursement along with a monthly allowance. The scholarship can be renewed for the next year if the student maintains a 50% mark in the previous semesters.

Run by the Department of Education, Government of Karnataka, this fellowship program is applicable for students having a PG or any professional degree in Social Sciences or Public Policy. The selected students will receive a monthly stipend, and the scholarship can be renewed for one more year based on the candidate’s performance.

Particulars Details
Eligibility criteria Students with a postgraduate/professional/any other degree in Social Sciences or Public Policy and relevant work experience of 3 to 10 years.

Students who are 35 years old or younger can apply for this fellowship. A regular degree in MBA, MSc, MA, or any other in Public Policy or Social Sciences are eligible to apply.

Benefits The selected fellows will receive a monthly stipend of ₹70,000 per month for the duration of the fellowship.
