Nabanna Scholarship Last Date 2026-27
There is no fixed annual deadline for the Nabanna Scholarship. Applications are accepted throughout the year on a rolling basis. That said, since funds are limited and processing takes time, students are advised to apply as early as possible in the academic session rather than waiting, to improve their chances of timely disbursement.
Nabanna Scholarship Eligibility Criteria 2026-27
To be eligible for the Nabanna Scholarship, an applicant must meet the following conditions:
- Must be a permanent resident of West Bengal.
- Must be studying at an institution located within West Bengal, after passing Secondary, Higher Secondary, or Undergraduate examinations from a recognised Board, Council, or University in the state.
- For Higher Secondary or Undergraduate-level assistance: must have scored at least 50% but less than 60% aggregate marks in the Madhyamik (or equivalent) or Higher Secondary (or equivalent) examination respectively.
- For Postgraduate-level assistance: must have scored at least 50% but less than 53% aggregate marks in the Undergraduate examination.
- Annual family income must not exceed ₹1,20,000.
- Must not be already receiving any other government or non-government scholarship/stipend for the same stage of study.
- An applicant can register only once within a 365-day period.
Nabanna Scholarship Amount 2026-27
Selected students under the Nabanna Scholarship will receive ₹10,000 per academic year, credited directly to the student’s bank account after verification by the CMRF Cell. The scholarship is meant to help cover tuition fees, books, and other essential education-related expenses, and is disbursed once eligibility and documents are verified — typically taking around three months or more from the date of application.

How to Apply Online for Nabanna Scholarship 2026-27?
Nabanna Scholarship Registration 2026-27
Step 1: Visit the Official Nabanna Website.
Step 2: Click on the “Apply For Financial Assistance for Education” button present at the bottom of the homepage.
Step 4: First enter your phone number and click on the “Send OTP” button.
Step 5: With the received OTP, fill the section with the six digit number and click on the “Submit” button.
Step 6: After entering the OTP, add the other required details such as the New Password, Re-Type New Password and Security Code.
Step 7: Clicking the “Sign Up” button will get you registered in the portal.
Nabanna Scholarship Application 2026-27
Step 1: Visit the Official Nabanna Website.
Step 2: Click on the “Apply For Financial Assistance for Education” button present at the bottom of the homepage.
Step 3: Log in by putting in your registered mobile number, password and captcha; then click on “Login”.
Step 4: Agree to the guidelines by clicking on the box titled “I have read and understood the guidelines for Application”. Then click on the “Apply Now” button.
Step 5: Complete the first step of the application process by providing your basic information, address and other details. Then click on “Submit”.
Step 6: After completing the first step, move on with the remaining two steps by filling scholarship related information and documents uploading. On doing so, you will complete the application procedure.

How to Apply Offline for Nabanna Scholarship 2025?
The application process for the scholarship scheme is conducted offline as well. Students interested in applying for the scholarship scheme are advised to follow the prescribed steps outlined below:
Step 1 – Prepare a comprehensive application on plain paper, including all relevant details.
Step 2 – Ensure that all required documents are properly attached to the application.
Step 3 – Sign the application form and ensure that all attached documents are attested.

Documents Required for Nabanna Scholarship 2026-27
Applicants must attach the following documents along with their application:
- Prayer letter addressed to the Hon’ble Chief Minister, signed by the applicant, with complete address, mobile number, and email ID.
- Recommendation letter from the local MLA or MP supporting the request for financial assistance.
- Family income certificate issued by a competent authority including, Minister-in-Charge/Minister of State, District Magistrate (DM)/Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO), Block Development Officer (BDO)/Joint BDO, Executive Officer (for Municipality areas), or an officer of Deputy Commissioner rank or above (for Municipal Corporation areas).
- Self-declaration by the student, stating the current course, year/semester of study, and details of any other scholarship/stipend received — signed by the student and countersigned by the head of the institution with an official stamp.
- Admit card of the Class 10 (Madhyamik) examination.
- Mark sheet of the qualifying examination — Madhyamik for HS-level assistance, Higher Secondary for UG-level assistance, and Graduation mark sheet for PG-level assistance.
- Rank card of entrance examination (if applicable), for professional courses such as Diploma Engineering, B.E./B.Tech, MBBS, Law, Nursing, or Pharmacy.
- Admission allotment letter, for the professional courses mentioned above.
- Bank passbook. Typically first page showing account number, IFSC code, and account holder’s name.
- Current year’s admission/fee receipt.
Nabanna Scholarship 2026-27 – Selection Process and Fund Disbursement
Selection basis: marks scored in the latest qualifying examination and the applicant’s family income.
Verification: carried out by the CMRF Cell at the Chief Minister’s Office, and may be forwarded to the District Magistrate or the Commissioner of Police, Kolkata, for further checks where needed.
Processing time: generally around three months or more from submission.
Disbursement: the sanctioned amount is transferred directly to the applicant’s bank account.
