Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the Nabanna scholarship, a student needs to fulfil the following eligibility requirements –  

  • Domicile: The students should be permanent residents of West Bengal.
  • Education:  The applicants must have successfully passed their most recent examination from a recognized Board, Council, or University in West Bengal. Furthermore, they must be currently enrolled in a recognized educational institution within the state of West Bengal. They must have scored –
    • a total of 50% or more but less than 60% marks in aggregate in the Madhyamik (Class 10) examination for the +2 level.
    • a total of 50% or more but less than 60% marks in the Higher Secondary (Class 12) examination for the undergraduate level.
    • a total of 50% or more but less than 53% marks in Graduation for the postgraduate level.
  • Income: The annual income of the student’s family should not be more than INR 1,20,000.
  • Other: The candidates must not be in receipt of any other government (central/state) scholarship or stipend for the same course or stage of study during the last year.

  • আবেদনকারী ছাত্র বা ছাত্রীকে অবশ্যই পশ্চিমবঙ্গের স্থায়ী বাসিন্দা হতে হবে।
  • পশ্চিমবঙ্গের যেকোনো বোর্ড, কাউন্সিল, বা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় থেকে মাধ্যমিক, উচ্চ মাধ্যমিক, বা সমমানের পরীক্ষায় উত্তীর্ণ হওয়ার পর, রাজ্যের যেকোনো শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠানে অধ্যয়ন করতে হবে।
  • মাধ্যমিক স্তরে আর্থিক সহায়তার জন্য, মাধ্যমিক বা সমমানের পরীক্ষায় অন্তত 50% কিন্তু 60%-এর কম নম্বর অর্জন করতে হবে। উচ্চ মাধ্যমিক স্তরে আর্থিক সহায়তার জন্য উচ্চ মাধ্যমিক বা সমমানের পরীক্ষায় একই শর্ত প্রযোজ্য।
  • স্নাতকোত্তর স্তরে সহায়তার জন্য অন্তত 50% বা তার বেশি কিন্তু 53%-এর কম নম্বর নিশ্চিত করতে হবে।
  • পারিবারিক বার্ষিক আয় 1,20,000/- টাকার বেশি হলে আবেদন করা যাবে না।
  • একই কোর্সে একই শিক্ষাবর্ষে অন্য কোনো সরকারি বা বেসরকারি স্কলারশিপ পেলে বা তার জন্য আবেদন করলে এই আবেদন গ্রহণযোগ্য হবে না।

  1. Visit the Official Website: Go to www.cmrf.wb.gov.in, the new Nabanna Scholarship portal.
  2. Choose Financial Aid: Select the option to apply for educational financial assistance.
  3. Review the Instructions: Read all the instructions thoroughly before clicking Agree.
  4. Fresh Enrollment: Since this is your first application, you need to create an account. Click to start.
  5. Account Creation: Enter your phone number, confirm it with the OTP, set a new password, and click Sign Up.
  6. Dashboard Login: On the login screen, enter your registered mobile number, password, and captcha code, then click Login.
  7. Fill Out Basic Details: Enter your name, father’s name, birthdate, age, district, pin code, family income, email address, and other required information, then click Submit.
  8. Complete Educational Information: Provide details about your education, including the name of the board or university, current course, results of the most recent qualifying examination (Class 10/12), total marks, and more.
  9. Bank Information: Enter your bank’s name, account number, and IFSC code, then click Submit.
  10. Upload Documents: Attach copies of the admission receipt, recommendation/income certificates, self-declaration, Class 10 admit card, and mark sheet.
  11. Review and Submit: Check all the information and documents you have provided before clicking the Submit button. After submitting your application, you will receive a reference ID. Make sure to note it down before downloading and printing the Nabanna Scholarship PDF application form.

List of Required Documents

While applying for the Nabanna Scholarship, the students must attach a set of documents in support of their application. These documents include –

  • Photocopy of tuition/admission fees book
  • Copies of mark sheets of all previously passed examinations 
  • Copies of rank card & allotment letter of the selection committee (only for JEE or equivalent examination)
  • Copy of recommendation stating monthly family income of the student from MP/MLA to the Hon’ble Chief Minister 
  • Self-bank account details (IFSC Code, Branch Code, Branch Name, Account Number, Bank Name) with a photocopy of the bank passbook.
  • Copy of monthly family income certificate from DM/SDO/BDO/Group-A Govt. Officer not below the rank of Joint B.D.O./Deputy Commissioner of Corporation/ Executive Officer in case of Municipality
  • Self-declaration of the student regarding his/her present course of study mentioning year/semester and receipt of any scholarship/aid/assistance countersigned by the head of the present institution with seal.

Note: The photocopies of all the documents are required to be attested by a Group-A Government officer.

Selection Process and Funds Disbursement

  • The selection of students for this scholarship scheme will be based on two primary criteria: their percentage of marks obtained in the last examination and their family’s financial condition. Once the application form is submitted, the process of evaluation and verification may take approximately three or more months to complete.
  • The scholarship requests will be thoroughly examined by the CMRF Cell of the Chief Minister’s Office. In some cases, the application may be forwarded to the respective District Magistrate or Commissioner of Police, Kolkata, for further verification and assessment.
  • The selected students will receive the scholarship amount in their respective bank accounts.

Note: The sanctioning of financial help is a one-time grant and is provisional. The authority can cancel the prior sanction anytime without giving any reason thereon.
