NSP or National Scholarship Portal is a doorway to attain scholarships for students in financial need from Class 1 to post-doctoral level. Launched by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India, NSP offers various scholarships to students belonging to minority communities, including SC (Scheduled Caste), ST (Scheduled Tribes), and OBC (Other Backward Class).

National Scholarship Portal (NSP) is a digital platform which includes various scholarships of AICTE (All India Council of Technical Education) and UGC (University Grant Commission) along with scholarships offered by the State and Central Governments. NSP offers a range of scholarships to minority students belonging to low-income families who wish to pursue their education but have to draw a compromising line due to lack of proper funds. Hand in hand with Central Government, UGC, AICTE, and State Government, the National Scholarship Portal helps students from different sections of the society and distributes the funds as per various schemes.

Before commencing with the NSP login procedure, students have to register themselves to apply for scholarships. The NSP registration process is a vital step without which students cannot move ahead to the National Scholarship Portal login process.
Once the students complete their registration on the NSP portal, they can begin with the login process.
Step 1 – Visit the official National Scholarship Portal login page
Step 2 – Click on ‘Login’ in the Application Form tab
Step 3 – Select ‘Fresh 2020-21’ option
Step 4 – Students will be redirected to a new page.
Step 5 – Enter Application ID, Password and the CAPTCHA code highlighted beside the slot.
Step 6 – Once filled, click on ‘Login’
Step 7 – Once the application form opens, enter the following details:
Step 8 – Click on ‘Save & Continue’
Step 9 – Again, students will be redirected to another new page
Step 10 – Upload the scanned copy of the documents (mentioned below)
Step 11 – Click on the ‘Final Submission’

In case the students want to know their AISHE (All India Survey on Higher Education) code, they must follow the below steps:
1. Visit the NSP website
2. Click on the ‘Services’ option present on the homepage
3. Click ‘Know your AISHE Code’ option from the drop-down list
4. Students will be redirected to a new window
5. Choose the options related to Institution Type, State, District and University Type
6. Click on the ‘Submit’ tab

NSP has been working as an effective digital scholarship platform that has helped distribute scholarships worth more than INR 2,400 crores to deserving candidates. Students who wish to avail all the installments of their scholarships have to renew their applications from time to time by following this detailed procedure:
1. Visit the official NSP portal
2. Click on the ‘Login’ option present on the homepage
3. From the dropdown menu, select the option ‘Renewal 2020-21’
4. Enter Application ID, Password and CAPTCHA code
5. Click ‘Login’
6. Enter all information on the form and submit.
Students who have studied from Class 1 to Class 12 (CBSE board or equivalent Examination of State Boards), or have an undergraduate, postgraduate, PhD or Postdoctoral degree are eligible to apply for NSP Scholarships.

No. Students who would apply for the scholarship for the first time can log into the portal as a fresh applicant.
