- Applicant must be a research scholar admitted in a research institute recognized by AICTE.
- Applicant should have scored a CGPA of 7.5 on the scale of 10 or 75% or above or equivalent at both B.E/B.Tech/B.Pharm and M.E/M.Tech/M.Pharm. (For SC/ST/PH applicants CGPA requirement will be 7.0 on the scale of 10 or 70% or above or equivalent).
- Applicant should have qualified GATE/GPAT during the last 5 years.
- Applicant should be less than 30 years of age as on 31st August 2018.
Note: Age relaxation of 5 years would be applicable to candidates belonging to SC/ST, women and physically challenged category.
Benefits
AICTE-National Doctoral Fellowship Scheme 2018 provides a monthly stipend of INR 28,000, accommodation allowance (wherever hostel accommodation is not available) and a contingency grant of INR 15000 per anum.

- Community certificate issued by a competent authority for applicants belonging to SC/ST/OBC category

Step 3: Login to fill the application form.
Step 4: Fill the application formcand pay the application fee online of INR 500 (for general/OBC) and INR 250 (for SC/ST/PH).
Step 5: Upload the required documents.
Step 6: Submit the application form.

- The closing of online applications submission: June 10, 2018
- Display of final list of students eligible for interview: June 14, 2018
- Interviews at selected academic institutions: June 18, 2018 – July 10, 2018
- Display of selected candidates and their allotted institutes: July 15, 2018
- Reporting at the institute by candidates: July 31, 2018
Selection Criteria
The selection procedure involves -
- Shortlisitng of the candidates by the office of Principal Coordinator and then by the concerned department/institute to which the candidate has applied.
- The next round involves the interview to be conducted in the concerned departments at the individual institutions.
- The final selection of candidates will be made by the National Nodal Centre in consultation with AICTE based on the recommendations of various institutions.

- The final admission of the candidate is subject to the clearance and approval by the Admission Wing (Section) of the concerned institution.
- Applications submitted without supporting enclosures will automatically be deemed invalid.
- Admission is possible only to the institutions and the departments listed in the information brochure.
