AICTE Scholarships 2026-27 – Important Dates, Eligibility Criteria and Application Process

The AICTE Scholarships 2026-27 application process has started on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP). For most AICTE scholarships listed on NSP, including the Swanath Scholarship Scheme, Pragati Scholarship Scheme, and Saksham Scholarship Scheme, the last date to apply is October 31, 2026. Students applying for AICTE scholarship schemes must complete their online applications before the respective deadline. 

Scholarship Registration and Login

The schemes are offered by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) to support students pursuing technical education in AICTE-approved institutions. These scholarships provide financial assistance to eligible students, including girl students, specially-abled students, and students from vulnerable backgrounds. Candidates must register and submit their applications through the official NSP portal before the closing date.

AICTE Scholarships Eligibility Criteria 2026-27

Each AICTE scholarship has its own set of eligibility criteria that one must fulfil in order to be a recipient of it. Who can apply for an AICTE scholarship? What are the key eligibility conditions that you need to fulfil? Understand the complete details about these conditions in the section given below.

AICTE Swanath Scholarship Scheme (Technical Diploma and Technical Degree)

1. The applicant must belong to at least one of the following categories:

  • Orphan
  • Lost either one or both parents due to COVID-19
  • Wards of armed forces or central paramilitary forces personnel martyred in action (Shaheed)
  • Students whose parents are suffering from critical, life-threatening diseases (e.g., Cancer); or deceased/severely disabled (80% or more) due to accidents, as defined under the RPwD Act, 2016

2. The annual family income from all sources must not exceed ₹8 lakh. Applicants must provide a valid income certificate issued by the competent authority of their state/UT.

3. The applicant must be enrolled in a regular mode diploma or degree course (1st to 4th year) at an AICTE-approved institution.

4. The candidate must not be receiving any other scholarship from the central/state government or AICTE at the time of application.

AICTE Saksham Scholarship Scheme for Specially Abled Student (Technical Diploma and Technical Degree)

  • The candidate should be enrolled in a degree level course (1st or 2nd year) through lateral entry in any of the AICTE approved Institution of the respective year. 
  • The applicant must be recognised as a specially-abled student having a disability of not less than 40%. 
  • The annual family income from all sources must not exceed ₹8 lakh. Applicants must provide a valid income certificate issued by the competent authority of their state/UT.

AICTE – Pragati Scholarship Scheme for Girl Students (Technical Diploma and Technical Degree)

  • The girl candidate should be admitted to degree level course (1st or 2nd year) through lateral entry in any of the AICTE approved Institution of the respective year. 
  • A maximum of two female children per family are eligible. 
  • The annual family income from all sources must not exceed ₹8 lakh. Applicants must provide a valid income certificate issued by the competent authority of their state/UT.

PM-USP Special Scholarship Scheme for Jammu Kashmir And Ladakh

  • Candidates must have a domicile of Jammu & Kashmir or Ladakh.
  • They should have passed the class 12 examination from JKBOSE or CBSE-affiliated schools located within these UTs.
  • The annual family income of the applicant must not exceed ₹8 lakh.
  • For admission under the lateral entry scheme, candidates must hold Diploma in Engineering from polytechnic institutes recognized by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), UTs of J&K and Ladakh.

AICTE PG (GATE/GPAT) Scholarship

  • Foreign students, sponsored candidates, and those admitted through the management quota are not eligible for this scholarship.
  • Candidates must hold a valid GATE/CEED 2026 score at the time of admission. Admissions outside the validity period of the score will not be considered.
  • Candidates enrolled in part-time programs are not eligible.
  • Applicants must have an Aadhaar-linked general savings bank account in their own name. Joint accounts, Jan-Dhan accounts, no-frill accounts, or accounts with transaction limits will not be accepted.
  • OBC candidates falling under the creamy layer are not eligible for the AICTE GATE scholarship.
  • Candidates applying under SC, ST, OBC (non-creamy layer), or physically handicapped categories must provide a valid certificate. Applications without authentic certificates will not be considered.
  • The scholarship will be awarded for a maximum of 24 months, or until the completion of the course or thesis submission, whichever occurs earlier.
