The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has opened applications for its 2025 scholarship programs. While the last date to apply for most scholarships has been extended to January 15, 2025. Key AICTE scholarships include the Swanath Scholarship Scheme (for orphans, wards of armed forces personnel, or COVID-19 victims), the Saksham Scholarship Scheme (for students with disabilities), and the Pragati Scholarship Scheme (for girl students).
In addition, AICTE administers the PM-Uchchatar Shiksha Protsahan (PM-USP) Special Scholarship Scheme for students from Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, and also supports postgraduate students through the AICTE GATE Scholarship. Together, these initiatives aim to remove financial barriers and promote equitable access to quality technical education.
3. The applicant must be enrolled in a regular mode diploma or degree course (1st to 4th year) at an AICTE-approved institution.

AICTE Scholarships Eligibility Criteria 2025
Each AICTE scholarship has its own set of eligibility criteria that one must fulfil in order to be a recipient of it. Who can apply for an AICTE scholarship? AICTE Swanath Scholarship Scheme (Technical Diploma and Technical Degree)
1. The applicant must belong to at least one of the following categories:
- Orphan
- Lost either one or both parents due to COVID-19
- Wards of armed forces or central paramilitary forces personnel martyred in action (Shaheed)
- Students whose parents are suffering from critical, life-threatening diseases (e.g., Cancer); or deceased/severely disabled (80% or more) due to accidents, as defined under the RPwD Act, 2016
2. The annual family income from all sources must not exceed ₹8 lakh. Applicants must provide a valid income certificate issued by the competent authority of their state/UT.
4. The candidate must not be receiving any other scholarship from the central/state government or AICTE at the time of application.
AICTE Saksham Scholarship Scheme for Specially Abled Student (Technical Diploma and Technical Degree)
- The candidate should be enrolled in a degree level course (1st or 2nd year) through lateral entry in any of the AICTE approved Institution of the respective year.
- The applicant must be recognised as a specially-abled student having a disability of not less than 40%.
- The annual family income from all sources must not exceed ₹8 lakh. Applicants must provide a valid income certificate issued by the competent authority of their state/UT.
AICTE – Pragati Scholarship Scheme for Girl Students (Technical Diploma and Technical Degree)
- The girl candidate should be admitted to degree level course (1st or 2nd year) through lateral entry in any of the AICTE approved Institution of the respective year.
- A maximum of two female children per family are eligible.
- The annual family income from all sources must not exceed ₹8 lakh. Applicants must provide a valid income certificate issued by the competent authority of their state/UT.
PM-USP Special Scholarship Scheme for Jammu Kashmir And Ladakh
- Candidates must have a domicile of Jammu & Kashmir or Ladakh.
- They should have passed the class 12 examination from JKBOSE or CBSE-affiliated schools located within these UTs.
- The annual family income of the applicant must not exceed ₹8 lakh.
- For admission under the lateral entry scheme, candidates must hold Diploma in Engineering from polytechnic institutes recognized by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), UTs of J&K and Ladakh.
AICTE PG (GATE/GPAT) Scholarship
- Foreign students, sponsored candidates, and those admitted through the management quota are not eligible for this scholarship.
- Candidates must hold a valid GATE/CEED 2025 score at the time of admission. Admissions outside the validity period of the score will not be considered.
- Candidates enrolled in part-time programs are not eligible.
- Applicants must have an Aadhaar-linked general savings bank account in their own name. Joint accounts, Jan-Dhan accounts, no-frill accounts, or accounts with transaction limits will not be accepted.
- OBC candidates falling under the creamy layer are not eligible for the AICTE GATE scholarship 2025.
- Candidates applying under SC, ST, OBC (non-creamy layer), or physically handicapped categories must provide a valid certificate. Applications without authentic certificates will not be considered.
- The scholarship will be awarded for a maximum of 24 months, or until the completion of the course or thesis submission, whichever occurs earlier.

- Selection is based only on marks in 10+2 (or equivalent) from an AICTE-approved institution.
Tie-Breaking Rules (if two candidates have the same percentage):
- Candidates with higher marks in class 10 will get preference.%
