PM Yasasvi Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme for OBC, EBC and DNT Students, Chandigarh

PM Yasasvi Post-Matric Scholarship is a centrally sponsored scheme administered by the Chandigarh Social Welfare Department for students from the OBC/EBC/DNT communities of the Union Territory of Chandigarh who are pursuing their studies at the post-matriculation level. 

Eligibility Criteria

Career Assessment Test

  • Open for Indian nationals who are domiciled in the UT of Chandigarh (as notified by the Central/State Government/UT administration).
  • Applicants must belong to the Other Backward Classes (OBC), Economically Backward Class (EBC), or De-Notified Tribes (DNT) categories.
  • The students should have passed the matriculation or higher secondary examination from a recognised university or board of education. 
  • The candidates must be pursuing post-matriculation or post-secondary courses from a recognised institution/college. 
  • The annual family income should be below ₹2,50,000 from all sources combined.

Awards
The selected students will receive a maintenance allowance of ₹750 and other benefits.

PM YASASVI Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme for OBC/EBC/DNT Students – Chandigarh 

The PM YASASVI Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme for OBC/EBC/DNT Students is an initiative of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, for students from OBC, EBC, and DNT communities pursuing their studies in Class 9 or 10. The scheme aims to motivate students by providing them with financial assistance at pre-matriculation or secondary stage to pursue higher education.

Eligibility Criteria

Buddy4Study - Education Loan

  • Open for Indian citizens domiciled in the UT of Chandigarh.
  • Applicants must belong to the Other Backward Class (OBC)/Economically Backward Class (EBC)/De-Notified Tribes (DNT) category.
  • They must be pursuing their studies in Class 9 or 10 in a government-recognised school. 
  • The annual income of the parent(s)/guardian should be less than ₹2,50,000 from all sources combined.

Awards 

The selected students will receive a consolidated academic allowance of ₹4,000 per annum.

Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme For Transgender Students, Chandigarh

The Post-Matric Scholarship for Transgender Students is an initiative meant for the transgender students pursuing their studies in Class 11 and above in the UT of Chandigarh. The objective of the scholarship is to extend financial support to transgender students and enable them to complete their education. 

Eligibility Criteria

  • This is open for permanent residents of the UT of Chandigarh.
  • The students must belong to a transgender category.
  • Applicants must have passed the higher secondary/matriculation examination from a recognised university or Board of Secondary Education in Chandigarh.
  • The students pursuing a post-secondary or post-matriculation course from a recognised institution except for training courses are eligible to apply for this scheme. 
  • The annual family income of parents/guardians should be less than ₹2,50,000 from all sources combined.

Post-Matric Scholarship for SC Students, Chandigarh

The Post-Matric Scholarship for SC Students is the initiative of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India to provide financial assistance to students pursuing their studies in Class 11 and above. The key objective of this scholarship is to provide financial assistance to eligible students who want to pursue their studies at the post-matriculation level.

Eligibility Criteria

  • This is open for permanent residents of Chandigarh who belong to a Scheduled Caste (SC) category.
  • Applicants must be pursuing studies at the post-matric or post-secondary level i.e. Class 11 to post-doctoral level at any government-recognised institution/college/university.
  • The annual family income must be less than ₹2,50,000 from all sources combined.

Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme for SC Students of Class IX and X, Chandigarh

The Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme for SC Students of Class IX and XI is an initiative of the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India, to provide financial assistance to SC students pursuing their studies in Class 9 and 10. The scholarship aims to provide educational support and minimise the incidence of drop-out in the transition from the elementary to the secondary stage of education.

Eligibility Criteria

  • This is open for the domiciled residents of Chandigarh who belong to a Scheduled Caste (SC) category.
  • The applicants must be pursuing studies in Class 9 or 10 in a government school or a school recognised by the Government or a Central/State Board of Secondary Education.
  • The annual parent(s)/guardian income should be more than ₹2,50,000 from all sources combined.

The selected students will receive a scholarship award of up to ₹525 per month for 10 months and other benefits.

Vidyadhan Haryana & Chandigarh Scholarship Program

Vidyadhan Haryana & Chandigarh Scholarship Program is an initiative of the Sarojini Damodaran Foundation meant for the Class 11 and 12 students pursuing their studies in the State of Haryana and UT of Chandigarh. This scheme aims to provide financial support to help transform the lives of underprivileged students in society by contributing to their higher education.

Eligibility Criteria

  • This is open for the domiciled residents of Haryana or Chandigarh.
  • The applicants must have completed the Class 10/SSLC examination in the year 2024 from a recognised school/institution of the respective State and UT.
  • The students should have secured a minimum of 80% marks or obtained an 8 CGPA in the Class 10/SSLC examination 

(Note: The cut-off score for students faced with disabilities is 70%.).

  • The annual family income must be less than ₹2,00,000 from all sources combined.

This program aims to provide financial assistance to EBC students who are pursuing their studies at the post-matriculation or post-secondary stage to enable them to complete their education.

  • This is open to permanent residents of the UT of Chandigarh. 
  • The applicants must be an Indian national from General Category (Other than Schedule Caste, Schedule Tribe and Other Backward Classes).
