PFMS Scholarship 2024 – About PFMS Portal
Started in the year 2008-09, the CPSMS or PFMS portal was initially intended to monitor four flagship schemes of the Government of India namely, MGNREGS, PMGSY, NRHM and SSA in the states of Madhya Pradesh, Mizoram, Bihar and Punjab. However, it was linked to the financial networks of Central/State Governments and agencies of state governments at a later stage. Furthermore, the Government of India announced the DBT scheme in 2013 which was meant to be implemented through the PFMS portal.
Under the DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) scheme, the payments for scholarships, pensions and other social welfare schemes were directly transferred to the ultimate beneficiaries through PFMS (Aadhaar enabled or via NEFT). This, in turn, allows the students to track their payment status online.

The Central Sector Schemes are those schemes, which are 100% funded by the Central Government and are implemented through a central government agency. The rate of scholarship is ₹1,000 at Graduation level for the first three years of College and University courses and ₹2,000 per month at Post-Graduation level. Students pursuing professional courses would receive ₹2,000 per month in the 4th and 5th year.
