PFMS Scholarship 2026-27 – FAQs
How is the PFMS Scholarship amount disbursed?
PFMS scholarship funds are transferred directly to the beneficiary’s Aadhaar-linked or bank account through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system after successful verification and approval.
Why does my PFMS payment status show “not processed” after NSP approval?
This usually means institute-level or district/state-level verification on the National Scholarship Portal is still pending, or the linked bank account is not correctly Aadhaar-seeded. PFMS initiates payment only once every verification stage on NSP has been cleared by the concerned authority.
Can I check my PFMS scholarship status without an NSP application ID?
Yes. For the general “Know Your Payment” option on the PFMS portal, only the bank name and account number are required. The NSP application ID is needed specifically for the separate “Track NSP Payments” option, which shows the scheme-linked disbursement status.
Are the Pre-Matric and Post-Matric PFMS Scholarship deadlines the same?
No. For the 2026–27 academic year, the Pre-Matric PFMS Scholarship for Class 9 and 10 students has a last date of August 31, 2026, whereas the Post-Matric PFMS Scholarship for Class 11 and above, including SC, ST, and OBC students, has a last date of October 31, 2026.
Does the PFMS Scholarship for College and University Students require a separate registration from NSP?
No. All PFMS-linked scholarships, including the Scholarship for College and University Students, are applied for entirely through the National Scholarship Portal. PFMS only takes over once the application has cleared every approval stage, solely to process the actual payment transfer.
