- The student must be an Indian national.

Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a permanent resident of Meghalaya.

- Students must have passed the required qualifying examination (HSLC/HSSLC/Secondary School Leaving/Senior Secondary Leaving Certificate) from a recognised state/central board (for diploma courses).

- Admissions are done on merit; 7% seats are reserved for STs, 15% for SCs, and 25% for Children of Service Personnel including ex-servicement.

Unlike other state-run and centre-run Meghalaya scholarships, the Chief Minister’s Scholarship Scheme’s (CMSS) application is submitted via Meghalaya One portal.

1. Visit Meghalaya One portal (https://meghalayaone.gov.in/meghalaya-one).
2. Go to “Services” and select the Chief Minister’s Scholarship Scheme.

Meghalaya Scholarships – How to Apply via National Scholarship Portal?
Majority of the state and centre sponsored scholarships require students to apply through the National Scholarship Portal.
Step-by-step guide to register on National Scholarship Portal
- All new users must visit the National Scholarship portal (https://scholarships.gov.in/).
- Click on the dropdown tab on the top-left corner of the screen, and click on “Apply for Scholarship”.
- Go to the Register tab and go through the guidelines for more clarity. Check all the boxes and click on “Next” to proceed.
- Enter your mobile number and click on get OTP.
- Now enter the OTP that you’ve received, fill in the captcha code, and click on “Verify”.
- Fill in the Aadhar card number and click on the “Get OTP” option. Now enter the OTP and click on “Verify”.
- Now fill in the personal details such as Mother’s name, Father’s name, email ID and others.
- This will mark the completion of your registration process. Also, note down the temporary registration number and download the OTR mobile application for face authentication.

- Now that you’re a registered user. Login using your application ID and password. Upon logging in successfully, you will receive an OTP on your registered mobile number. Verify the OTP and change your password to continue.
- Click on the dropdown tab on the top-left corner of the screen, and click on “Schemes on NSP”.
- Now you will be redirected to a page where all the available scholarship schemes under NSP will be visible to you. For specific results, select “state – Meghalaya”.
- A list of active scholarships will be visible to you.
- Now, to apply for the scholarship, navigate to the menu and click on “Apply for Scholarships“.
- Login using your valid login credentials.
