SSP scholarship is an umbrella term for the scholarships offered by the Government of Karnataka for its domicile students on its State Scholarship Portal (SSP). It is a dedicated online platform run by the Government of Karnataka to ensure effective implementation of a number of pre-matric and post-matric scholarships offered by different government departments. The key objective of this scholarship is to financially support those meritorious students who face financial difficulties in pursuing their education irrespective of their caste, category or gender.

SSP – State Scholarship Portal has been introduced by the Government of Karnataka with an objective to ensure smooth and effective implementation as well as disbursement of scholarships offered by its different departments. It ensures transparency in the application submitted and documents uploaded by the student. Furthermore, the scholarship funds under various departments are disbursed through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) into the beneficiaries’ accounts. There are 7 departments of the Government of Karnataka that offer scholarships to the students from different sections of the society. Some of the departments include Social Welfare Department, Karnataka State Brahmin Development Board Scheme, Tribal Welfare Department, and more. Note: The last date of submission will be extended for all the students whose data hasn’t been shared yet by the respective universities with SSP Cell. Hence, the authorities have requested all the first-year students to wait till the admission process is completed by the universities for applying for the SSP scholarship.

The applications for all types of SSP scholarships can be made online through the SSP portal only. Applicants can follow the steps given below to apply for any of the scholarships mentioned above –
Step 1: Visit the official website of the State Scholarship Portal.
Step 2: Click on the link given to apply for the “Post-Matric Scholarship for FY 2020-21.”
Step 3: Now click on “Create Account.”
Step 4: Fill in the mandatory fields, tick on the consent, and click on the “Proceed” button.
Step 5: After this step, your Aadhaar will be seeded with your bank account. Now enter your Email ID, mobile number, OTP and click on the “Submit” button.
Step 6: Now enter your certificate’s details and click on the “Proceed” button.
Note: After clicking on the proceed button you will be asked to check your name in the certificates. If it is correct then you’ll be directed to the next page.
Step 7: If you have a ration card then tick on yes and enter your ration card number or else you need to apply for a ration card to proceed with the process.
Step 8: After entering the ration card number, a list of family members will appear. Select the name of the applicant from the list and click on the “Check” button to proceed.
Step 9: Now, create a password and click on the “Submit” button.
Note: There should be no special character in the password.
Step 1: Visit the official website of the SSP scholarship.
Step 2: Click on the “Student Login” button on the dashboard.
Step 3: Enter Username, password, and captcha to Login.
Note: In case, you do not remember your student ID or password, you can easily retrieve them by clicking on “Forget Password” or “Know your Student ID” button.
Step 4: Once logged in, proceed to complete the scholarship application. Fill in all required details in the application.
Step 5: Upload all relevant documents and submit the application.
Your application for the SSP scholarship remains incomplete if you do not upload the required documents in support of your application. The applicants who are willing to apply for any scholarship on the SSP scholarship portal will require the listed below documents –
To apply for a scholarship on the SSP scholarship portal, an applicant needs to get the documents e-Attested by the College e-Attestation officer. By following the listed below steps, an applicant can easily get their documents attested online –
Step 1: Click on the official website of the SSP scholarship.
Step 2: Now scroll down the homepage and click on “Click here for e-authentication portal (Students).”
Step 3: A new window will open, enter your Aadhaar number, captcha, tick on the consent, and click on the “Verify” button.
Step 4: You’ll be directed to the student profile page. Enter the details such as college name, university name, course, etc., and upload the documents. The list of pending documents will be displayed here.
Step 5: Now, click on the Aadhaar Consent” form, fill it and download the form. Step 6: Visit the e-Attestation officer of your college with the form and original documents to get them attested.
Step 7: Once the documents will be e-Attested by the officer, they will reflect under the Approved documents section.

SSP scholarship is an initiative by the Government of Karnataka to provide financial help to the students who are domiciles of Karnataka and studying at post-matriculation level.
Students studying in Class 1 to 10 can apply for Pre-matric scholarships on the SSP scholarship portal.
