The online applications for SSP scholarships 2025 are currently ongoing. The last date to apply for post-matric scholarships offered by the Department of Arya Vyshya Department, Department of Technical Education, and Karnataka State Brahmin Development Board is November 30, 2025.

Scholarship Registration and Login

Students can also apply for the post-matric Scholarship provided by the Disability Welfare Department by December 31, 2025. Applications must be submitted online, and there are separate portals for post-matric and pre-matric scholarships. The Government of Karnataka offers the SSP Scholarship exclusively to residents of Karnataka.

About SSP Scholarship Portal

The State Scholarship Portal (SSP) has been introduced by the Government of Karnataka with the objective of ensuring smooth and effective implementation as well as disbursement of scholarships offered by its various departments. It promotes transparency in the applications submitted and the documents uploaded by students. Furthermore, scholarship funds under various departments are disbursed through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) into the beneficiaries’ accounts.

SSP Scholarship Eligibility Criteria 2025

To apply for an SSP scholarship, the applicant must be a permanent resident of the state of Karnataka. Additionally, the various scholarships available on the SSP portal in Karnataka have specific eligibility criteria that students must meet to apply.

Eligibility Criteria for SSP Scholarship

1. SC Pre Matric Scholarship – Social Welfare Department

Eligible Candidates: Students from Scheduled Caste communities.

Enrollment Requirements:

  • Classes 1–8 (State-funded): Family income ≤ ₹6 lakh.
  • Classes 9–10 (Central-funded): Family income ≤ ₹2.5 lakh.

Additional Criteria: Aadhaar must be linked to the student’s bank account for DBT disbursement.

2. Pre-matric Scholarship for Children of Parents in Unhygienic Occupations – Social Welfare Department

Eligible Candidates: Students enrolled in Classes 1–10.

Family Occupation: Parents must work in unhygienic occupations like scavenging, tannery work, or manual cleaning.

Income Limit: No income limit for eligibility.

3. SC Post Matric Scholarship – Social Welfare Department

Eligibility: SC students enrolled in post-matric courses.

Family Income:

  • ≤ ₹2.5 lakh for full fee reimbursement + maintenance allowance.
  • ₹2.5–₹10 lakh for a 50% fee waiver (Engineering/Medical courses).

4. ST Pre Matric Scholarship – Tribal Welfare Department

Eligible Candidates: Students from Scheduled Tribe communities.

Enrollment Requirements:

  • Classes 1–8 (State-funded schools): Family income ≤ ₹6 lakh.
  • Classes 9–10 (Central-funded schools): Family income ≤ ₹2.5 lakh.

5. Post Matric Scholarship for ST Students – Tribal Welfare Department

Eligibility: Permanent residents of Karnataka, belonging to the ST category.

Income Criteria:

  • Family income ≤ ₹2.5 lakh for full fee reimbursement.
  • Income between ₹2.5 lakh and ₹10 lakh for engineering/medical students.

6. Vidyasiri Food and Accommodation Scholarship Scheme – Department of Backward Class Welfare

Eligibility: Indian citizens and permanent residents of Karnataka.

Income Limits:

  • ₹2.5 lakh for Category 1 students.
  • ₹1 lakh for Category 2A, 3A, 3B students.

7. Fee Concession Scheme – Department of Backward Class Welfare

Eligibility: Permanent residents of Karnataka studying post-matric courses in government or recognized institutions.

Income Limits:

  • ₹2.5 lakh for Category I.
  • ₹1 lakh for Categories IIA, IIIA, IIIB.

8. OBC Pre Matric Scholarship – Department of Backward Class Welfare

Eligible Candidates: Students from Backward Classes, enrolled in Classes 9 or 10 in government schools.

Income Limit: Annual family income ≤ ₹2.5 lakh.

Additional Requirements: Students must secure A+, A, B+, or B grades.

9. Post Matric Scholarship for Backward Classes Students – Department of Backward Class Welfare

Eligibility: Permanent residents of Karnataka from recognized OBC categories.

Income Limits:

  • ₹2.5 lakh for Category I.
  • ₹1 lakh for other categories.

10. Pre Matric Scholarship – Department of Minority Welfare

Eligible Candidates: Students from minority communities (Muslim, Sikh, Christian, Buddhist, Jain, Zoroastrian).

Income Limit: Family income ≤ ₹1 lakh.

SSP Scholarship Benefits for 2025

SC Pre Matric Scholarship:

  • Classes 1–5: Boys ₹1,000, Girls ₹1,100
  • Classes 6–7: Boys ₹1,150, Girls ₹1,250
  • Classes 9–10: Day Scholar ₹3,500, Hosteller ₹7,000

SC Post Matric Scholarship:

  • Group I: ₹7,000 (Day Scholar), ₹13,500 (Hostel)
  • Group II: ₹6,500 (Day Scholar), ₹9,500 (Hostel)
  • Group III: ₹3,000 (Day Scholar), ₹6,000 (Hostel)
  • Group IV: ₹2,500 (Day Scholar), ₹4,000 (Hostel)

ST Pre Matric Scholarship:

  • Classes 1–5: Boys ₹1,000, Girls ₹1,100
  • Classes 9–10: ₹3,000 (same for boys and girls)

Vidyasiri Food and Accommodation Scholarship Scheme:

  • ₹1,500 monthly stipend for 10 months (for food and accommodation).

OBC Pre Matric Scholarship:

  • ₹4,000 per annum for eligible students.

Post Matric Scholarship for Backward Classes:

  • Group 1: ₹20,000 total (₹10,000 educational allowance + ₹10,000 tuition fee)
  • Group 2: ₹13,000 total (₹8,000 educational allowance + ₹5,000 tuition fee)

SSP Scholarship Application Process 2025

Applications for all types of SSP scholarships can be submitted online through the Karnataka State Scholarship Portal (SSP). For pre-matric SSP scholarships, students must visit the ssp.karnataka.gov.in, and for post-matric SSP scholarships can be accessed at ssp.postmatric.karnataka.gov.in. The application process for both portals is the same, only the required documents differ. Students are advised to follow the steps provided below to know the complete process. 

Stage 1 – Registration

Step 1: Visit the official website of the State Scholarship Portal (SSP) Karnataka.

Step 2: Click on the link given to apply for the ‘Pre or Post-Matric Scholarship for FY 2025-26’.

Step 3: Now, click on “Create Account”.

Step 4: Fill in the mandatory fields, check the consent box, and click on the “Proceed” button.

Step 5: After this step, the applicants’ Aadhaar will be needed with their bank account. Now, enter your email ID, mobile number, OTP and click on the “Submit” button.

Step 6: Now, enter the certificate’s details and click on the “Proceed” button.

Note: After clicking on the proceed button, the applicants will be asked to check their names on the certificates. If it is correct, then the applicants will be directed to the next page.

Step 7: If the applicants have a ration card, then tick yes and enter their ration card number or otherwise, they need to apply for a ration card to proceed with the process.

Step 8: After entering the ration card number, a list of family members will appear. Select the name of the applicant from the list and click on the “Check” button to proceed.

Stage 2 – Login

Step 1: Go back to the homepage of the SSP scholarship.

Step 2: Click on the “Student Login” button for the post-matric or pre-matric scholarship on the homepage. 

Step 3: Now you will be redirected to the login page. Here you will need to enter your username, password, and captcha to log in.

Note: In case you do not remember your student ID or password, you can easily retrieve them by clicking on the “Forget Password” or “Know your Student ID” button.

Step 4: Once logged in, proceed to complete the scholarship application. Fill in all required details in the application. 

Step 5: Upload all relevant documents and submit the application. 

Step 6: Once submitted, you will receive a confirmation email on your registered email address.

After applying for the SSP scholarship on the online portal, you must get your uploaded documents e-attested. The documents are e-attested by the college’s e-attestation officer. By following the steps listed below, applicants can easily get their documents attested online.

Step 1: Click on the official website of the SSP scholarship.

Step 2: Now, scroll down the homepage and click on “Click here for e-authentication portal (Students)”.

Step 3: A new window will open, enter the Aadhaar number, captcha, tick on the consent, and click on the “Verify” button.

Step 4: The applicants will be directed to the student profile page. Enter the details such as college name, university name, course, etc., and upload the documents.

Step 5: Now, click on the “Aadhaar Consent” form, fill it and download the form.

Step 6: Visit the e-Attestation officer of your college with the form and original documents to get them attested.
