Top Class Education Scheme for SC Students

Top Class Education Scheme for SC Students is a national means scholarship which offers full financial assistance to SC students to promote quality education among them. A total of 1,500 scholarships are disbursed every year under this scholarship scheme. The application for the scholarship is applied online through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).

Eligibility: The candidates who wish to apply must belong to the category of Scheduled Caste and should have taken admission in a full-time degree course after class 12 in a notified institution. Also, the annual family income of the applicant must not be more than INR 6 Lakh from all the sources.

Award: Those selected students who are studying in private sector institutions are liable to receive full tuition fee & non-refundable charges with a maximum ceiling of up to INR 2 Lakh per annum and those students who are admitted into private sector flying clubs and pursuing courses like Commercial Pilot Training and Type Rating Courses receive tuition fee & other non-refundable charges with a maximum ceiling of up to INR 3.72 Lakh per annum. Besides this, students also get INR 2,220 per month as living expenses, an annual amount of INR 3,000 as books & stationery allowance and one-time assistance of up to INR 45,000 for latest computer/laptop and other related accessories.

Pre-Matric Scholarships Scheme for Minorities

Pre-Matric Scholarships Scheme for Minorities is a government scholarship which offers financial assistance in the form of admission fee, tuition fee and maintenance allowance to those needy students who belong to minority communities. Minority communities of India include Muslim, Sikh, Christian, Buddhist, Jain and Zoroastrian/Parsi. The applicants who wish to apply for this scholarship can do so through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).

Eligibility: Students of class 1 to 10 who have secured at least 50% marks in the previous final exam; annual family income must not exceed INR 1 Lakh; must be from the minority community.

Award: The selected candidates studying in class 6 to 10 get an annual admission fee of INR 500 along with a monthly tuition fee of INR 350. Also, the students of class 1 to 10 (day scholars) receive a maintenance allowance of INR 100 per month and class 6 to 10 students (hostellers) get INR 600 per month for a period of INR 10 months in an academic year.

Post Matric Scholarships Scheme for Minorities

Started with the objective of providing financial assistance to needy students of minority communities, Post Matric Scholarships Scheme for Minorities is meant for students of class 11 to PhD. The interested candidates can apply online for this national means scholarship through NSP.

Eligibility: Students of class 11 12, graduation, post-graduation, technical or vocational courses, M.Phil., PhD who have secured at least 50% marks in the previous final exam; annual family income must not be exceeding INR 2 Lakh; must be from minority community (Muslim, Sikh, Christian, Buddhist, Jain and Zoroastrian/Parsi).

Award: The selected students studying in class 11 & 12 (hostellers & day scholars) get admission and tuition fee of INR 7,000 per annum or INR 10,000 per annum if the students are pursuing technical or vocational courses of class 11 & 12. UG and PG students receive INR 3,000 per annum as admission and tuition fee. The students also receive a monthly maintenance allowance of up to INR 1,200 for a period of 10 months in an academic year.

Tuition Fees and Examination Fees to VJNT Students (Means Based), Maharashtra

This means scholarship is meant for those students of Maharashtra who belong to Vimukt Jati/Denotified or Nomadic Tribes and financially deprived and are studying at the post-matriculation level. The interested candidates can apply online through MahaDBT, the online scholarship portal of Maharashtra Government.

Eligibility: The candidates must belong to VJNT category of Maharashtra; annual family income must be less than or equal to INR 8 lakh.

Award: Under this scholarship scheme, selected students get reimbursement of the compulsory fees such as tuition, admission, term, library, laboratory, gymkhana and examination fees.

Financial Assistance for Education of the Wards of Beedi/Cine/IOMC/LSDM Workers – Post-Matric

Initiated by the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India, the main objective of this scholarship scheme is to ensure that no child is working in any hazardous sector as labour. This national means scholarship provides financial assistance to those students who are studying at the post-matriculation level in a government institution. The interested candidates can apply online through NSP.

Eligibility: The applicant must be enrolled in a government institution and pursuing class 11 & 12 (PUC I & II), ITI, Degree course, Professional course like BE, MBBS, BSc Agri; the applicant’s one parent or both must be working as Beedi worker, Iron Ore Manganese & Chrome Ore Mines (IOMC) worker, Limestone & Dolomite Mines (LSDM) worker, Cine worker from at least last six months; annual family income must not exceed INR 1 Lakh; the candidate must have his/her last exam in the first attempt itself; children of contract labourers or gharkhata workers can also apply.

Award: The selected girl students studying in PUC I & II get INR 2,440 while boys get INR 2,000. Those enrolled in ITI courses receive INR 10,000 while students studying degree courses get INR 3,000. The students who are pursuing professional courses get INR 15,000.

Begum Hazrat Mahal National Scholarship

This scholarship is meant for girl students belonging to minority communities. The selected students receive tuition fee assistance and other benefits under this scholarship scheme. The interested candidates can apply online for Begum Hazrat Mahal Scholarship through the official website of Maulana Azad Education Foundation.

Eligibility: Girl candidates who belong to Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain and Parsi communities and studying in class 9 to 12; at least 50% marks in previous class; annual family income must not exceed INR 2 Lakh.

Award: The selected students receive up to INR 6,000 each.

Pre-Matric Scholarship for ST Students, Assam

Started with the objective to financially assist the deprived students, this scholarship is meant for ST students of Assam in order to improve the level of education among them. Interested students can apply online for this means scholarship through the National Scholarship Portal.

Eligibility: Students must have the domicile of Assam and belong to the ST category; must be studying in class 1 to 8 in an institution recognized by the Assam Government; annual family income must not exceed INR 50,000.

Award: The selected students get a scholarship amount of up to INR 1,200 per annum.

Higher Education Scheme, Gujarat

This scholarship is offered by the Government of Gujarat to provide monetary support to deprived students of Gujarat so that they can complete their education. The eligible students can apply online through an online portal named Digital Gujarat.

Eligibility: The candidates must be studying in class 11 to post-graduation in a government or grant-in-aid institutes/colleges; annual family income must not exceed INR 2.5 Lakh.

Award: The selected candidates get an annual grant of INR 1,000 to INR 6,000.

Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Post Matric Scholarship for EBC, Tripura

This government scholarship is a means scholarship which offers financial assistance to needy students of Tripura who are studying at post-matriculation level. This scholarship can be applied online through NSP.

Eligibility: The candidates must be the domicile of Tripura and belong to Economically Backward Class (EBC) of the general category; must be studying in class 11 to postdoctoral level at a government-recognized institution; annual family income must be less than INR 1 Lakh.

Award: The selected candidates get a monthly maintenance allowance of up to INR 750 for a duration of 10 months along with the reimbursement of compulsory non-refundable fees. Also, an annual amount of up to INR 900 is given as study tour charges and up to INR 1,000 as thesis typing and printing charges. Blind students get up to INR 175 per month as reader charges.

PRERANA Post Matric Scholarship for ST/SC/OBC/SEBC/EBC Communities

PRERANA (Post-matric scholarship Registration Release and Network Automation) Portal allows those students of Odisha who are studying at post-matric level to apply for scholarships online without any hassle.

Eligibility: The candidates must be from ST/SC/OBC/SEBC/EBC category and be the permanent resident of Odisha; annual family income of students belonging to SC/ST category should not be more than INR 2.5 Lakh, those belonging to OBC/SEBC should have INR 1 Lakh as annual income and must have scored at least 50% marks in the previous exam, students of EBC category must not have more than INR 1 Lakh of annual income.

Award: The selected students receive a maintenance allowance of up to INR 1,200.

Special Scholarship Scheme Ishan Uday for NER

Ishan Uday is a means scholarship offered by the University Grants Commission (UGC) to the students of the north-east region in order to promote higher education and financial assistance to them. A total of 10,000 scholarships are disbursed every year among the NER students. Interested candidates can apply online for this scholarship through NSP.

Eligibility: Students must have the domicile of North-Eastern Region (NER) which includes Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Sikkim, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Manipur and Tripura; must have passed class 12 and secured admission in general degree, technical/professional courses of recognised colleges/universities/institutions; annual family income must not exceed INR 4.5 Lakh.

Award: Under this scholarship scheme, students pursuing general degree courses get INR 5,400 per month and students pursuing technical/professional courses receive INR 7,800 per month.

Delhi Ladli Scheme

This scheme is offered by the Delhi Government with the objective to empower girl children of Delhi. Financial assistance of up to INR 11,000 is given to the eligible candidates. To apply for this scheme, candidates need to download the application form from the official site of Department of Social Welfare/ WCD of Delhi or obtain the hard copy from district offices.

Eligibility: The girl child must be born in Delhi and the annual family income must not exceed INR 1 Lakh; the child’s parents must be the bonafide resident of Delhi for at least 3 years before the birth of the applicant. Other girls who are studying in class 1/6/9/12 of Government/MCD/NDMC or Government recognized schools are also eligible but they must be born in Delhi. Their parents must be residing in Delhi for at least 3 years prior to the date of application of Delhi Ladli Scheme; the annual family income must not be more than INR 1 Lakh.

Award: The candidates get the amount in their bank accounts when they reach prescribed milestones/stages. The amount is released to the girl child at the end of the lock-in period.

This national means scholarship is meant for those girl students who belong to rural India and have a low socio-economic background, and who wish to pursue a career in Science. Launched with the objective to provide financial assistance, quality education and mentorship, Dr. Reddy’s Scholarship is for class 12 passed students. Interested candidates can apply online for the scholarship through the official website of The Sashakt Scholarship.

Eligibility: Girl students who have passed class 12 and wish to get admitted into the BSc Programme in Pure/Natural Science.

Award: INR 2.4 Lakh for three years (INR 80,000 per year)

Eligibility: Girl students studying in class 1 to 10 with a score of 60% or equivalent in the previous class, must have a family income INR 15,000 per month

The G.S.B. Scholarship

The G.S.B. Scholarship is a national means scholarship scheme that provides monetary help to those needy students who belong to the Saraswat community. Eligibility: Students belonging to Gaud Saraswat Brahmin community and studying in class 5 to graduation can apply.

Santoor Women’s Scholarship is meant for those girl students who have passed class 12 and want to pursue higher education. Under this scholarship scheme, a total of 900 scholarships are disbursed every year among students of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Telangana. The applicants can apply online through the official website of Santoor Women’s Scholarship.

Eligibility: Girls from underprivileged & disadvantaged background having passed class 12 and enrolled in a minimum 3-years diploma/graduate programme in the current academic year are eligible; students must be from Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Telangana. Preference is given to those students who come from backward districts.

Award: A scholarship amount of INR 24,000 per annum till the completion of the degree programme

Siemens Scholarship Program

This scholarship offers financial assistance to those students who are in the 1st year of engineering courses. On successfully completing their degree course, these scholars can also be placed in the various sectors of Siemens in the future.

Eligibility: The applicant must be 1st year engineering student studying in a government college; the candidate’s age must be below 20 years; must have scored at least 60% marks in class 10 board and 50% marks in class 12 board (60% marks in PCM); annual family income must not exceed INR 2 Lakh.

Award: Tuition fee reimbursement, books, hostel and stationery allowances

Shubh Aarambh Scholarship

This scholarship is offered by the Mondelez International in collaboration with Magic Bus India Foundation to needy undergraduate students who wish to pursue higher education. One can apply for this scholarship online through the scholarship portal of Buddy4Study.

Eligibility: The candidates must be from Induri in Pune (Maharashtra), Baddi in Solan (Himachal Pradesh), Malanpur in Bhind (MP) and Pollachi in Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu); the candidate’s age should be between 17-20 years; must be studying/applying for 1st year of any vocational or degree courses for the current academic year; annual family income must not exceed INR 3 Lakh; must have scored at least 55% marks in class 12.

Award: A scholarship amount of up to INR 40,000 or tuition fees (entire course), whichever is less

Alaknanda Scholarship Programme

This scholarship is offered to the underprivileged girl students of Odisha who are from Kalyanpur panchayat (located on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar) so that they could complete their matriculation under the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS). This scholarship is given to a total of 60 girls every year. This scholarship can be applied through the official website of the Parichay Foundation.

Eligibility: The scholarship can be applied by girls who have the domicile of Odisha and have passed class 9; must belong to an underprivileged family.

Award: The selected candidates get the support for admission in matriculation under NIOS; Admission & examination fee support; girls are adopted for an entire year and course material and other benefits are given to them.

Sitaram Jindal Foundation Scholarship

Under this scholarship scheme, the selected students from poor and downtrodden section of the society are provided financial assistance so that they could complete their education. Sindhutai Sapakal Scheme for Educating Orphans and Children with Special Needs

This scholarship is meant for the Brahmin students of Andhra Pradesh who are orphans or have special needs. The candidates can apply online for this scholarship through the official website of Andhra Pradesh Brahmin Welfare Corporation.

Eligibility: The parents of those applicants who are orphan & those who have special needs must have resided in Andhra Pradesh (when alive) and belonged to Brahmin community. The candidates with special needs must be severely challenged.

Baba Gurbachan Singh Scholarship Scheme

Offered by Sant Nirankari Mandal, this means scholarship is meant for deserving and needy students who wish to continue and complete their education. This scholarship can be applied by submitting the application form through email or by post to the Education Department of Sant Nirankari Mandal.

Eligibility: 1st-year students of graduation degree/diploma or master’s degree with 60% and above marks in class 10 & 12 can apply; annual family income must not exceed INR 3.5 Lakh. The candidates can be regular or correspondent students.
