The list of documents to be uploaded by the students for each scholarship may vary. However, some of the common documents that a student should keep in hand during National Scholarship Portal registration for both fresh & renewal scholarships are as under:

The National Scholarship Portal registration involves the students providing basic information like the state of domicile, scholarship category, the name of the student, date of birth, bank details, identification details (either Aadhaar number or bank account number), etc. Once you know what are the scholarships available and their deadlines, you can head on to register yourself on the portal. Registration Process
- Visit the National Scholarship Portal.
- Click on ‘Apply For One Time Registration (OTR)’.
- For new users, click on Register Yourself
- A page of Guidelines for Registration on NSP will open.
- Go through the guidelines carefully.
- Click on ‘Next’ to proceed.
- Fill in your mobile number and click on OTP.
- Enter the OTP.
- Fill in the Captcha and click on Verify tab.
- Complete the eKYC Update Option. Select any of the 3 options.
- If you have an Aadhaar card, enter the Aadhaar number and click on OTP.
- Enter the OTP, and fill in the captcha.
- Finally, click on Verify.
Application Process
- After logging in, Click on the Apply Fresh option to apply for a scholarship opportunity.
- You can continue with your application after clicking the ‘I Agree’ button.
- Fill in the details carefully and click on Submit.
- Once the application is submitted from Apply Fresh, it will be available on the My Applications Listing Page.
- Click on the Proceed tab to complete the application process.
- Fill in all registration details, academic details and other necessary details as per the below mandatory sections:

What is the UID number/Aadhaar number?
UID also otherwise known as Aadhaar number is the Unique Identification Number given by UIDAI. It is required to be seeded with a bank account in which the scholarship amount is desired to be transferred. Also, the students need to provide the UID number at the time of national scholarship portal registration.
Is it possible to edit the information already saved?
Yes, it is possible to edit all details except personal details while registering on NSP. However, once the application is finally submitted, it can be edited further.
What should a student do if he/she forgets his/her Application ID?
The process of recollection of temporary/permanent ID is to visit the student's login page and click on forgot registration details. Thereafter, the students need to enter the basic fields and click on Get registration details.
