Eligibility Criteria The student must belong to the Scheduled Caste.

The student must be enrolled in post-matric courses to apply for the Post Matric Scholarship for ST Students

The family’s annual income must be up to ₹2.50 lakh to receive full fee reimbursement and a maintenance allowance.

Career Assessment Test

Students with an income between ₹2.50 lakh and ₹10 lakh (pursuing engineering or medical courses) are eligible for a 50% fee waiver from the Department of Technical and Medical Education.
Benefits The scholarship covers non-refundable mandatory fees and maintenance allowance for eligible students. The exact benefits are described below. 

Group I: Students pursuing degree and postgraduate level professional courses receive ₹7,000 as day scholars and ₹13,500 as hostellers annually.

Group II: Students enrolled in other professional courses leading to a degree, diploma, or certificate get ₹6,500 (day scholars) and ₹9,500 (hostellers).

Group III: For graduate and postgraduate courses not listed under Group I or II, students receive ₹3,000 (day scholars) and ₹6,000 (hostellers).

Group IV: Students in post-matric (post-Class X) non-degree courses are eligible for ₹2,500 (day scholars) and ₹4,000 (hostellers).

Post-matric Scholarship for Minorities – Department of Minority Welfare

Eligibility Criteria The applicants must be residents of Karnataka.

They must belong to a minority community to apply for the 

Post-Matric Scholarship for Minorities of Karnataka.

The annual family income of the candidates must be less than or equal to ₹2 lakh.

They must have scored at least 50% in the last examination.

Benefits Students of Class 11 and 12 receive up to ₹7,000 per year for admission and tuition fees (for both hostellers and day scholars).

For technical and vocational courses in Class 11 and 12 (of 1 year or more), up to ₹10,000 per year is provided for admission and tuition fees.

Undergraduate and postgraduate students receive up to ₹3,000 per year for admission and tuition fees.

Class 11 and 12 students (including those in technical and vocational courses) receive a monthly maintenance allowance of ₹380 (hostellers) or ₹230 (day scholars) for 10 months.

UG and PG students (excluding technical/professional courses) receive ₹570/month (hostellers) or ₹300/month (day scholars) for 10 months.

M.Phil and Ph.D. students receive ₹1,200/month (hostellers) or ₹550/month (day scholars) as a maintenance allowance for 10 months.

Post Matric Scholarship by Department of Medical Education

Particulars Details
Eligibility Criteria Must be a permanent resident of Karnataka and belong to Other Backward Classes recognised by the Central or State Government.

Should be enrolled in post-matric courses at government, aided, or recognised private institutions affiliated with Karnataka’s statutory universities.

Annual family income must not exceed ₹2.5 lakh for Category-I and ₹1 lakh for Category-IIA, IIIA, and IIIB to apply for the Post Matric Scholarship for Backward Classes Students, Karnataka.

Must have passed the previous exam with at least 60% (Category I) or 70% (Category IIA/IIIA/IIIB).

Not eligible if repeating the same course, studying under management/private/COMEDK quota, or pursuing medicine during PG medical studies.

Only two sons per family can apply; this restriction does not apply to daughters.

Can receive benefits under only one centrally sponsored post-matric scholarship from the Department of Backward Classes Welfare.

Benefits Group 1 (Professional UG & PG courses): ₹10,000 educational allowance + ₹10,000 tuition fees = ₹20,000 total

Eligibility Criteria Must be a resident of Karnataka.

Should have passed Class 10 from a recognised board.

Benefits Boys studying in PUC or ITI get ₹2,500; girls get ₹3,000
