About The Program

Centrally Sponsored Pre-Matric Scholarship for SC Students, Manipur 2024-25 is an initiative of the Government of Manipur, for SC students studying in Class 9 and 10 in both government and private schools. The scholarship aims to help SC students in Manipur complete their elementary education. Selected candidates will receive a scholarship of up to ₹1,000 and other grants

To be eligible, an applicant must:-

  • be an Indian national
  • be a domicile of Manipur
  • belong to the Scheduled Caste (SC) category of the state
  • be enrolled in a recognised government or private school/institution of the state
  • have an annual family income of less than ₹2,50,000

Note:-

  • The student must be enrolled in a recognised government or private school.
  • Students who repeat a class will not receive a scholarship for that class again.
  • Only the income of the living parent(s) will be considered, regardless of other family members' earnings.
  • If both parents are deceased, the guardian's income will be considered.
  • Students who lose a parent and whose family income falls below the scholarship eligibility threshold will be eligible for the scholarship starting from the month of the parent's death.
  • Consideration may be given to scholarship applications from students who have lost a parent.
  • The scholarship will not consider house rent allowances that are tax-exempt for the student's parents.
  • An income certificate is only needed when initially enrolling in courses that last longer than a year.

 

Benefits

The selected students will receive the following benefits:-

The students with disabilities studying in private un-aided schools will receive additional allowances as below:- 

Additional Allowances for SC students with disabilities studying in private unaided SchoolsUnder the Centrally-sponsored Scheme of ‘Inclusive Education of the Disabled at Secondary Stage’ (IEDSS) implemented by the M/o HRD, financial assistance is already being given under its “Student Oriented Component” to students with disabilities studying at the Secondary stage in Govt., local body and Govt. aided schools. However, students in un-aided schools are not covered under IEDSS.

Therefore, SC students with disabilities, studying in Class 9 & 10 in private un-aided recognised schools, will be eligible for allowances under this scheme, as follows:

Helper allowance is admissible to any employee of the hostel willing to extend help to a severely orthopedically handicapped student residing in the hostel

Note:- The disability as defined under the Persons with Disabilities (Equal Opportunities, Protection of Rights and Full Participation Act, 1995) Act has to be certified by competent medical authority of the State Govt./UT Administration.

How can you apply?

Eligible students can apply by following these steps:-
Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' button below. 
Step 2: Click on the 'Register' button and fill in the required registration details. (Note:- If already registered, log in using Gmail/Mobile number/Email ID).
Step 3: Navigate to the 'Students' option on the left-hand side of the dashboard and click on it.
Step 4: Now, click on the 'Login' button under the OTR option as it is required to apply for a scholarship on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).
Step 5: Click on the 'New user? Register yourself' on the left-hand side of the dashboard and click on it.
Step 6: Read the details carefully, tick the checkbox, and click on the 'Next' button.
Step 7: Enter a functional mobile number, captcha code, and OTP, then submit to complete the registration process.
Step 8: Fill in the required details and click on 'Save & Register' to complete the 'One-time registration (OTR)' process. (Note:- This is a temporary registration number, students need to download the OTR mobile application for face authentication to complete the OTR process.)
Step 9: After successful registration, navigate to the 'Apply for Scholarship' option and click on the 'Login' button.
Step 10: Select the scholarship, fill in the required details, upload the necessary documents and submit.

Note:- All the applicants are advised to fill in the information correctly on the application form.  Once the application is submitted, no changes can be made. Additionally, submitting multiple applications will result in disqualification.

  • The scholarship will be payable for 10 months in an academic year.
  • Students receiving this scholarship can only avail it for one year per class. If a student repeats a class, they will not be eligible for the scholarship for that class again in the following year or any subsequent year.
  • A scholarship may be cancelled if the recipient changes the course program or institution for which the scholarship was originally awarded. 
  • The scholarship is dependent on the satisfactory progress and conduct of the recipient. 
  • The recipient is liable to refund the scholarship amount if the student discontinues the study for which the scholarship was originally awarded. 
  • The provisions of this scheme can be changed at any time at the discretion of the Government of India.
  • The scholarship of a student will be cancelled in case of discontinuation of studies due to personal reasons or in case of false information provided in the online application.
  • The candidates who after passing one stage of education are studying in the same stage of education but in different subjects are not eligible.
  • Students who live in one state but are studying in another state can still receive scholarships from their home state. They just need to apply to the appropriate authority in their home state. This means the state they belong to, not the state where they're currently studying.

For Renewal Process: 

  • The scholarship will be payable for 10 months in an academic year.  
  • The award once made will continue subject to good conduct and regularity in attendance. It will be renewed for Class 10 after the student passes Class 11.
