NSP Centrally Sponsored Scheme of Post-Matric Scholarship for SC Students, Meghalaya 2026-27 is an opportunity offered by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. It is implemented through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) and aims to help SC students from low-income families continue their higher education. Selected candidates will receive an annual academic allowance of up to ₹13,500 and other benefits.
To be eligible, an applicant must:-

The scholarship includes the following components for the complete duration of the course:-
a) Compulsory non-refundable fees, including tuition fees, as fixed by the fee fixation/rationalisation committee of the State Government
b) Academic allowance as follows:

Eligible applicants can apply by following these steps:-
Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' button below.
Step 2: Click on the 'Register' button and fill in the required registration details. (Note:- If already registered, log in using Gmail/Mobile number/Email ID).
Step 3: Navigate to the 'Students' option on the left-hand side of the dashboard and click on it.
Step 4: Now, click on the 'Login' button under the OTR option, as it is required to apply for a scholarship on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).
Step 5: Read the details carefully, tick the checkbox, and click on the 'Next' button.
Step 6: Enter a functional mobile number, captcha code, and OTP, then submit to complete the registration process.
Step 7: Enter your/parents/guardian Adhaar/EID number and click ‘Get OTP’ for eKYC.
Step 8: Enter the OTP and click on ‘Verify’. Then click on ‘I Agree’.
Step 9: Enter all the mentioned details and click on ‘Finish’ to complete the 'One-time registration (OTR)' process. (Note:- This is a temporary registration number; students need to download the OTR mobile application for face authentication to complete the OTR process.)
Step 10: After successful registration, navigate to the 'Apply for Scholarship' option and click on the 'Login' button.
Step 11: Fill in the required details and click ‘Login’ to proceed with the scholarship application.
Note:- All the applicants are advised to fill in the information correctly on the application form. Once the application is submitted, no changes can be made. Additionally, submitting multiple applications will result in disqualification.

Question: Who can apply for this scholarship?
Answer: Students who belong to the Scheduled Caste (SC) category, currently studying in classes 11 and above, are eligible to apply for this scholarship. The annual family income of the student must be less than ₹2,50,000.
Question: Can I apply for the scholarship if I already have a degree in one subject and want to pursue another?
Answer: No, students cannot apply for the same stage of education in a different subject.
Question: Is distance learning/online education eligible for the scholarship?
Answer: Yes, accredited correspondence or online courses offered by Central/State Universities (distant/continuous education) are eligible. However, there's no academic allowance for such students, and they are responsible for any non-refundable fees.
Question: Can I receive other scholarships along with this one?
Answer: No, scholarship holders cannot receive any other scholarship or stipend. If awarded another, you must choose the one that benefits you more and inform the awarding authority through your institution's Head.
Question: What does the scholarship cover?
Answer: The scholarship covers non-refundable fees (tuition) fixed by the State Government and an academic allowance. The amount of the academic allowance varies based on the course category and whether the student is a hosteller or a day scholar. Students with disabilities (Divyang) receive an extra 10% allowance.
