About The Program

BPL Scholarship Scheme for College Students, Chhattisgarh 2025-26, is an initiative by the Chhattisgarh Department of Higher Education to support undergraduate and postgraduate students from government colleges within the state. The scheme aims to provide financial assistance to meritorious students from Below Poverty Line (BPL) families to help cover their daily living expenses during their higher education. Selected students will receive a scholarship of ₹500 per month for 10 months.

To be eligible, an applicant must:-

  • be a domicile of Chhattisgarh
  • be enrolled in a government college in Chhattisgarh under the Higher Education Department
  • have a guardian with a BPL card
  • have passed the previous year's examination on the first attempt.
  • maintain regular attendance
  • not be a beneficiary of any other scholarship scheme
Benefits

The selected students will receive benefits as follows:

Class Scholarship Amount (in ₹ per month)
Graduate level 300
Postgraduate level 500

Note:- The scholarship is renewable for subsequent academic years. It does not cover tuition fees, admission fees, caution money, or other additional expenses.

How can you apply?

Eligible applicants can apply by following these steps:-
Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' button below. 
Step 2: Click on the 'Register' button and fill in the required registration details. (Note:- If already registered, log in using Gmail/Mobile number/Email ID).
Step 3: Navigate to the 'Students' option on the left-hand side of the dashboard and click on it.
Step 4: Now, click on the 'Login' button under the OTR option as it is required to apply for a scholarship on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).
Step 5: Click on the 'New user? Register yourself' on the left-hand side of the dashboard and click on it.
Step 6: Read the details carefully, tick the checkbox, and click on the 'Next' button.
Step 7: Enter a functional mobile number, captcha code, and OTP, then submit to complete the registration process.
Step 8: Fill in the required details and click on 'Save & Register' to complete the 'One-time registration (OTR)' process. (Note:- This is a temporary registration number; students need to download the OTR mobile application for face authentication to complete the OTR process.)
Step 9: After successful registration, navigate to the 'Apply for Scholarship' option and click on the 'Login' button.
Step 10: Select the scholarship, fill in the required details, upload the necessary documents and submit.

Note:- All the applicants are advised to fill in the information correctly on the application form. Once the application is submitted, no changes can be made. Additionally, submitting multiple applications will result in disqualification.

  • By the State Government office

Question: Who is eligible to apply for the BPL Scholarship Scheme in Chhattisgarh?

o be eligible, a student must be a permanent resident of Chhattisgarh, studying in a government college under the state’s Higher Education Department, and come from a family listed under the BPL (Below Poverty Line) category. The student’s name must be mentioned on the BPL card. Additionally, they must not be receiving benefits from any other scholarship scheme and must have passed the previous year’s examination on the first attempt.

Question: For which courses is this scholarship available?

The scholarship is available for both undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) courses in eligible government colleges.

Question: Can I renew my scholarship in the following years?
Answer: 
Yes, students are eligible to renew the scholarship every year by reapplying with updated academic and institutional records, provided they continue to fulfil eligibility criteria.

Question: What if I change my mobile number or bank account during the scholarship period?
Answer: 
It is strongly advised not to change the registered mobile number or bank account linked to Aadhaar during the academic year to avoid payment issues

Question:  How is the scholarship amount disbursed?
Answer: 
The sanctioned amount is credited directly to the selected student’s bank account via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
