Pre-Matric Scholarship to Scheduled Caste Students, Dadra and Nagar Haveli 2023 is a centrally sponsored scheme implemented by the Department of Social Welfare, UT Administration of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu to students studying in Class 9 and 10 in one of the recognised institutions of the state. The objective of this scholarship scheme is to avoid dropout of SC students, especially during the transition from the elementary to the secondary stage. The selected students will receive a scholarship and other grants.

    Eligibility

    To be eligible, an applicant must:

    • be a domicile of UT of DNH & DD
    • belong to Scheduled Caste (SC) category
    • be studying in Class 9 and 10 in a recognised government and private school recognised by State Government/UT Administration/Central Board having a valid UDISE code
    • have a parental/guardian income not exceeding ₹2,50,000 per annum
    Benefits

    The selected students will receive a scholarship and grants as follows:

    Item Day Scholars (per annum in ₹) Hostellers (per annum in ₹)
    Scholarship 3,500 7,000
    Books and Ad-hoc grant 750 1,000

     

    In addition, a 10% extra allowance shall be given to Divyang (Disabled) students.

    Note: The disability will be considered as defined under the relevant Section of Rights of the Persons with Disability Act, 2016. The appropriate Government shall designate persons, having requisite qualifications and experience, as certifying authorities, who shall be competent to issue the certificate of disability.

    • Certificates, diploma, degree, etc. of previously passed examination
    How can you apply?

    Eligible candidates can apply for the scholarship through the following steps:

    Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' link below. 
    Step 2: Click on the 'Register' button and fill in the required registration details. (Note: If already registered, log in using Gmail/Mobile number/Email ID).
    Step 3: Navigate to 'Applicant Corner' and click on the 'New Registration' tab.
    Step 4: Read the details carefully, tick the checkbox and click on the 'Continue' button.
    Step 5: Select the respective Aadhaar option, enter mobile number, captcha code, OTP, and then submit.  
    Step 6: Fill in the required details and click on 'Save & Register' to complete the registration process. 
    Step 7: Now click on the 'Fresh Application' tab and log in using the application ID and password. 
    Step 8: Fill in the required details, upload the necessary documents and submit the application.

    Note: All the applicants are advised to fill the form correctly, no changes can be made once submitted. The applicants are also advised to fill in only one application as multiple applications will cancel the form.

  • The student cannot hold any other educational scholarship for the purpose of studying in Class 9 and 10. 
  • The continuation scholarship is subject to the student's satisfactory progress and conduct.
  • Student must be a regular, full-time student studying in a government school or in a school recognized by the government or a central/state board of secondary education.
  • The scholarship for studying in any class will be available for only one year. If the student has to repeat a class, they will not get the scholarship for that class for a second (or subsequent) year.
  • In case of false information being submitted, the scholarship will be revoked, and any received funds may be recovered at the discretion of the authority.
  • The provisions of this scheme can be changed at any time at the discretion of the Government of India.
