About The Program

Post-Matric Scholarship for EBC Students, Uttarakhand 2024-25 is an initiative of the Uttarakhand State Government to provide financial assistance to Economically Backward Class (EBC) students from Uttarakhand pursuing post-matriculation or post-secondary education. Selected students will receive a monthly maintenance allowance of up to ₹1,200 and other benefits.

To be eligible, an applicant must:-

  • be an Indian national
  • be domiciled in Uttarakhand
  • belong to the Economically Backward Classes (EBC) category
  • have passed matriculation from a recognised board or institution
  • be studying in Class 11 or above in a recognised university/institution
  • fulfill the following annual parent(s)/guardian(s) income criteria:
    • Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST): ₹2,50,000
    • Other Backward Classes (OBC): ₹1,50,000
Benefits

The selected scholars will receive a monthly maintenance allowance as follows:-

a) Degree and Post Graduate level courses including M. Phil., Ph.D. and Post Doctoral research in Medicine (Allopathic, Indian and other recognized systems of medicines), Engineering, Technology, Planning, Architecture, Design, Fashion Technology, Agriculture, Veterinary & Allied Sciences, Management, Business Finance/Administration, Computer Science/ Applications.

b) Commercial Pilot License (including helicopter pilot and multiengine rating) course

c) Postgraduate Diploma courses in various branches of management & medicine.

d) C.A./I.C.W.A./C.S./I.C.F.A. etc.

e) M. Phil., Ph.D., and Post Doctoral Programmes (D. Litt., D.Sc., etc.):

  • In existing Group 2 courses
  • In existing Group 3 courses

a) Graduate/postgraduate courses leading to degree, diploma, or certificate in areas like Pharmacy (B Pharma), Nursing (B Nursing), LLB, BFS, other para-medical branches like rehabilitation, diagnostics etc., Mass Communication, Hotel Management & Catering, Travel/Tourism/Hospitality Management, Interior Decoration, Nutrition & Dietetics, Commercial Art, Financial Services (e.g. Banking, Insurance, Taxation etc.) for which entrance qualification is minimum Sr. Secondary (10+2)

b) Postgraduate courses not covered under Group 1 (e.g. M.A./M.Sc./M.Com./ M.Ed./M.Pharma. etc.)

Documents

The following self-attested documents are required to be submitted:-

  • Income certificate of parent(s)/guardian(s) (not older than 1 year)
  • Caste certificate
  • Domicile/Permanent residence certificate
  • High school marksheet
  • Marksheet/certificate of the last passed class
  • Bonafide certificate of the current educational institution
  • Bank passbook of CBS account
  • Counseling certificate (if applicable)
  • Disability certificate (if applicable)
How can you apply?

Eligible students can apply by following these steps:-
Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' button below. 
Step 2: Click on the 'Register' button and fill in the required registration details. (Note:- If already registered, log in using Gmail/Mobile number/Email ID).
Step 3: Navigate to the 'Students' option on the left-hand side of the dashboard and click on it.
Step 4: Now, click on the 'Login' button under the OTR option as it is required to apply for a scholarship on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).
Step 5: Click on the 'New user? Register yourself' on the left-hand side of the dashboard and click on it.
Step 6: Read the details carefully, tick the checkbox, and click on the 'Next' button.
Step 7: Enter a functional mobile number, captcha code, and OTP, then submit to complete the registration process.
Step 8: Fill in the required details and click on 'Save & Register' to complete the 'One-time registration (OTR)' process. (Note:- This is a temporary registration number, students need to download the OTR mobile application for face authentication to complete the OTR process.)
Step 9: After successful registration, navigate to the 'Apply for Scholarship' option and click on the 'Login' button.
Step 10: Select the scholarship, fill in the required details, upload the necessary documents and submit.

Note:- All the applicants are advised to fill in the information correctly on the application form.  Once the application is submitted, no changes can be made. Additionally, submitting multiple applications will result in disqualification.

Candidates will be selected based on the fulfilment of the eligibility criteria.

  • Students studying in a different state will receive the scholarship from their home state.
  • The scholarship will be renewed annually until the course is completed.
  • Students who fail an exam for the first time may have their scholarship renewed. However, if they fail again, the scholarship will be discontinued until they pass the next class.
  • Students who pursue their studies through correspondence or distance learning are also eligible for the scholarship.
  • Employed students on unpaid leave for the duration of their studies are eligible. Students pursuing postgraduate courses in medicine will be eligible if they are not allowed to practice during the period of their course.

Answer:
Indian nationals domiciled in Uttarakhand who belong to the EBC category, have passed matriculation, are studying in Class 11 or above in a recognised institution, and meet the income criteria

Answer:
The income criteria depend on the caste category. It ranges from ₹1,50,000 for OBC students to ₹2,50,000 for SC/ST students.

The scholarship covers non-refundable fees (tuition) fixed by the State Government and an academic allowance. The amount of the academic allowance varies based on the course category and whether the student is a hosteller or a day scholar. Students with disabilities (Divyang) receive an extra 10% allowance.
