Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan – A Brief History

The scheme for Kendriya Vidyalaya was sanctioned by the Government of India in November 1962. It was established with the singular objective of providing continuous education to the children of transferable Central Government employees. Initially launched in 1963, the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan began with just 20 regimental schools. These schools were strategically situated in regions with significant concentrations of defense personnel.
