Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan – A Brief History
The scheme for Kendriya Vidyalaya was sanctioned by the Government of India in November 1962. It was established with the singular objective of providing continuous education to the children of transferable Central Government employees. Initially launched in 1963, the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan began with just 20 regimental schools. These schools were strategically situated in regions with significant concentrations of defense personnel. KVS specifically caters to the educational needs of children from transferable Central Government backgrounds in order to ensure their uninterrupted schooling throughout the academic year.
The fee structure at Kendriya Vidyalayas varies depending on the class and the location of the school. However, the fees are generally quite reasonable, and KVS schools are considered to be one of the most affordable alternatives available for quality education in India.
