About The Program

Pre-Matric Scholarship for ST Students (State Sector), Uttarakhand 2023-24 is an initiative of the Social Welfare Department, Government of Uttarakhand, to financially aid ST students studying in Classes 1 to 10 in government or government-aided schools in the state. The scholarship aims to encourage and support the education of these students and reduce the financial burden on their families. Selected candidates will receive an annual scholarship grant of up to ₹6,250.

To be eligible, an applicant must:-

  • be an Indian national
  • be domiciled in Uttarakhand
  • belong to the Scheduled Tribe (ST) category
  • be studying in Classes 1 to 10 in a government or government-aided school in the state
  • have passed the previous year's examination
  • have an annual parental/guardian income of not more than ₹2,50,000 from all sources 

Note:- While the income criterion applies to students in Classes 9 and 10, there is no income requirement for students in Classes 1 to 8.

Benefits

The selected students will receive the following scholarship amounts:-

  • Classes 1 to 5: ₹600 per annum
  • Classes 6 to 8: ₹960 per annum
  • Classes 9 to 10:
    • Day Scholars: ₹3,000 per annum
    • Hostelers: ₹6,250 per annum

How can you apply?

Eligible applicants can apply for the scholarship through the following steps:-
Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' button below. 
Step 2: Click on the 'Register' button and fill in the required registration details. (Note:- If already registered, log in using Gmail/Mobile number/Email ID).
Step 3: Navigate to the 'Students' option on the left-hand side of the dashboard and click on it.
Step 4: Now, click on the 'Login' button under the OTR option as it is required to apply for a scholarship on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).
Step 5: Click on the 'New user? Register yourself' on the left-hand side of the dashboard and click on it.
Step 6: Read the details carefully, tick the checkbox, and click on the 'Next' button.
Step 7: Enter a functional mobile number, captcha code, and OTP, then submit to complete the registration process.
Step 8: Fill in the required details and click on 'Save & Register' to complete the 'One-time registration (OTR)' process. (Note:- This is a temporary registration number, students need to download the OTR mobile application for face authentication to complete the OTR process.)
Step 9: After successful registration, navigate to the 'Apply for Scholarship' option and click on the 'Login' button.
Step 10: Select the scholarship, fill in the required details, upload the necessary documents and submit.

Note:- All the applicants are advised to fill in the information correctly on the application form. Once the application is submitted, no changes can be made. Additionally, submitting multiple applications will result in disqualification.

  • Applicant students must not be studying in more than one educational institution in the same academic year.
  • The authenticity of the Aadhaar number mentioned in the student's online application form will be verified through the National Scholarship Portal. If a student includes the Aadhaar number in the scholarship application, it will be considered as consent given for verifying the authenticity of the Aadhaar number.
  • Scholarship applicants should ensure that the name mentioned in the scholarship application, Aadhaar, and the bank account are the same. In the case where the names in the online application form and the bank account do not match, the disbursement of the scholarship to the student will not be possible.
  • Applicants must provide their own or their parent's mobile number. The mobile number mentioned in the scholarship application submitted by the student or their parent can be included in the application form by more than one student-applicant in the same family.
  • The provisions of this scheme can be changed at any time at the discretion of the Government of India.
