MahaDBT Scholarship 2026: Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility conditions differ across the 68 schemes on the portal, but the common requirements across MahaDBT scholarships are given below. Applicants should check the individual scheme page for exact category, course and income conditions.

1. The applicant must be a domicile of Maharashtra.

2. The applicant must be studying in a government or government-aided institution recognised in the state.

3. Pre-matric schemes are for school students, while post-matric schemes cover Class 11 up to higher and professional courses.

4. Most schemes are category-specific, covering SC, ST, OBC, VJNT, SBC, EBC, minority or persons with disability applicants.

5. An annual family income limit applies to most schemes, with the exact ceiling set scheme-wise.

6. The applicant should not be availing another scholarship for the same course at the same time.

7. For renewal, the student must have passed the previous year or semester examination.

MahaDBT Portal Registration Process 2026

Before starting, applicants should keep scanned copies of their mark sheets, income certificate and other documents ready. Registration is done on the MahaDBT 2.0 portal.

1. Open the MahaDBT 2.0 portal at mahadbt2.maharashtra.gov.in.

2. Choose the Register option available on the top right-hand corner.

3. Wait for the registration pop-up to open on the screen.

4. Choose the preferred registration option, either Aadhaar card or ration card.

5. Enter the Aadhaar number or ration card number and tick the consent checkbox.

6. Select the Send OTP button.

7. Enter the OTP received on the registered email or mobile number to verify.

8. Review and verify the personal and contact details fetched on the screen, such as full name, date of birth, gender, mobile number and email ID.

9. Fill in the address details, including taluka, district and pin code, then enter the captcha and select Save and Proceed.

10. Wait while the portal creates the Maha-ID, which takes around 45 seconds. Once the Maha-ID is created your MahaDBT scholarship registration process is completed.

1. Open the MahaDBT 2.0 portal and go to the Benefits/Schemes section on the homepage.
