About The Program

Post-Matric Scholarship for Persons with Disability, Maharashtra 2023-24 is an initiative of the Department of Social Justice and Special Assistance, Government of Maharashtra. It provides financial assistance to disabled students enrolled in Class 11 to Ph.D. Selected scholars will receive a monthly maintenance allowance of up to ₹1,200 and other benefits.

To be eligible, an applicant must:-

  • be a domicile of Maharashtra
  • have a disability of 40% or more, as certified by a competent authority
  • be studying in Class 11 to Ph.D. level at a government or government-aided institution in Maharashtra
  • have been admitted through the CAP process
Benefits

The selected students will receive the following benefits:-

Groups Maintenance Allowance for Hostellers (in ₹ per month for 10 months) Maintenance Allowance for Day Scholars (in ₹ per month for 10 months) Additional Allowance for Blind Students
Group A 1,200 550 100

  • In addition to the maintenance allowance, all mandatory fees including tuition, exam, and other compulsory fees payable by the student to the institute are covered under this scheme.
  • A project typing expense of up to ₹600 per annum will also be provided to students.
  • Candidates pursuing M.Phil. and Ph.D. courses will receive a maintenance allowance as per postgraduation Groups A, B, and C.

How can you apply?

Eligible applicants can apply for the scholarship through the following steps:
Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' button below.
Step 2: Click on the 'Register' button and fill in the required registration details. (Note: If already registered, log in using Gmail/Mobile number/Email ID).
Step 3: Navigate to the 'New Applicant Registration' button at the right-hand side of the dashboard and click on it.
Step 4: Fill in all required details, verify the email and the phone number, enter the captcha and click on the  'Register' button.
Step 5: After successfully registering on the portal, click on the 'Applicant login' button on the right-hand side of the dashboard.
Step 6: Log in using the username and password. 
Step 7: Fill in the necessary details, upload the required documents, and submit.

Candidates will be selected based on the fulfilment of the eligibility criteria.

Terms and Conditions
  • The scholarship will not be applicable if the candidate fails or quits the same course/incomplete course.
  • The scholarship will not be applicable for a second time if the candidate applies based on HSC/SSC/Degree criteria. (Note:- Applications should be progressive; only one course is allowed per application.)
  • Students studying in a recognised institute or college outside Maharashtra are eligible, but they must be residents of Maharashtra.
  • Students pursuing post-graduation in the medical field who are not allowed to practice outside the institute e.g., interns or residents receiving a stipend are eligible.
  • If a student in arts, science, or commerce discontinues their course and applies for a professional course, a technical education certificate/diploma/degree is applicable for the scholarship. However, if the candidate fails in Group A, the scholarship will not be applicable.
  • For Groups B, C, D, and E: If the student fails, they will not be eligible for this scheme.
  • For Group A: If the student fails once, they may be eligible for this scheme, but they will not be eligible if they fail a second time during their entire education.
  • Students enrolled in distance education from a recognised university/institution where non-refundable fees must be paid will receive an annual grant of ₹500 for book and material purchases.
  • Candidates can only apply for the Shahu Maharaj Merit Scholarship with this scheme. They cannot apply for another scheme concurrently.
  • If a candidate is working full-time, they are not eligible.
  • If a candidate is a government hosteller and does not receive books and stationery from the hostel, they are eligible for an additional 1/3 of the maintenance allowance allocated for hostel residents.
  • Students residing in a college/institute hostel or any other recognised hostel who pay hostel fees will receive the maintenance allowance at the hosteller rate.
