About The Program
Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Hostel Maintenance Allowance Scheme, Maharashtra 2024-25 is an initiative of the Directorate of Medical Education Research, Government of Maharashtra, to provide financial assistance to students pursuing specified medical courses in government-aided/corporation/private un-aided colleges. Selected students will receive a hostel maintenance allowance of up to ₹30,000 per annum.

To be eligible, an applicant must:-
- be a permanent resident of Maharashtra
- be a child of a registered labourer and/or Alpabhudharak shetkari (marginal landholders)
- have applied for a degree course in one of the following disciplines in a government-aided, corporation, or private unaided college:
- Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS)
- Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS)
- Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)
- Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS)
- Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPTH)
- B.Sc. Nursing
- Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery (BUMS)
- Bachelor in Prosthetics and Orthotics (BPO)
- Bachelor in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (BASLP)
- Dual-Degree programs
- have taken admission in hostels located in major cities of Maharashtra like Mumbai, Pune, Aurangabad, Nagpur, or other locations
- have an annual family income of less than ₹8,00,000
Note:- Candidates are eligible if they have been admission under the General or SEBC category.
Benefits
The selected candidates will receive the hostel maintenance allowances as follows:
| Category | Students with an annual family income of less than ₹1,00,000 (for a duration of 10 months) | Students whose parents are registered labourer/Alpabhudharak shetkari (marginal landholders) (for a duration of 10 months) |
| For students studying in Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Aurangabad | ₹3,000 | ₹30,000 |
| For other locations in Maharashtra | ₹2,000 | ₹20,000 |

Eligible applicants can apply for the scholarship through the following steps:-
