Scholarship for Minority Students Pursuing Higher and Professional Courses (DMER), Maharashtra 2023-24 is an initiative of the Minority Development Department, Government of Maharashtra to provide financial assistance to minority students pursuing specified health science courses. Selected students will receive a scholarship amount of either the total annual course fee or ₹50,000, whichever is less.

  • Scholarship for Minority Students Pursuing Higher and Professional Courses (DMER), Maharashtra 2023-24

    To be eligible, an applicant must:

    • be a domicile of Maharashtra
    • belong to minority communities including Muslim, Buddhist, Christian, Jain, Sikh, Parsi, Jewish 
    • have taken admission to a course through CET/competitive exam or on the basis of marks obtained in Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSC)
    • have taken admission in one of the following courses:
      • Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS)
      • Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS)
      • Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)
      • Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS)
      • Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery (BUMS)
      • Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPTH)
      • Bachelor in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (BASLP)
      • Bachelor in Prosthetics and Orthotics (BPO)
      • B.Sc. Nursing or M.Sc. Nursing
      • Dual-Degree programmes
      • Ophthalmic Assistant
      • Optometry
      • Post Basic B.Sc Nursing
      • Courses affiliated with Maharashtra University of Health Science, Nashik
    • have an annual family income of less than or equal to ₹8,00,000

    The selected students will receive a scholarship amount of either the total annual course fee or ₹50,000, whichever is less.

    • Aadhaar card
    • Domicile Certificate
    • School leaving Certificate
    • HSC and SSC marksheets 
    • Father’s PAN card
    • Student’s PAN card (optional)
    • Mother’s PAN card (optional)
    • Income certificate of parents/Form no.16 (Note:- Candidate belongs to minority community should be mentioned on the certificate/affidavit)


    If the applicant is studying outside Maharashtra, the following documents are required to be submitted:

    • Copy of Fees Regulatory Authority (FRA)
    • Bonafide for the current academic year
    • Letter from concerned council/authority stating the institute is recognised
    How can you apply?

    Eligible candidates can apply for the scholarship through the following steps:
    Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' button below.
    Step 2: Click on the 'Register' button and fill in the required registration details. (Note: If already registered, log in using Gmail/Mobile number/Email ID).
    Step 3: Click on the 'New Applicant Registration' button at the right-hand side of the dashboard.
    Step 4: Fill in all required details, verify the email and the phone number.
    Step 5: Complete the Aadhaar authentication process either through OTP or biometrics. 
    Step 6: After completing the authentication process, fill in all the required details to 'Register'.
    Step 7: Now, click on the 'Applicant login' button on the right-hand side of the dashboard.
    Step 8: Log in using the username and password. 
    Step 9: Fill in the necessary details, upload the specified documents, and submit.

Selection Criteria

The candidates will be selected based on the fulfilment of the eligibility criteria.

Terms and Conditions
  • 30% of seats are reserved for girls. 
  • Students pursuing their education outside of Maharashtra are eligible for the scholarship, provided they are a domicile of Maharashtra or have resided in Maharashtra for at least 15 years.
