About The Program

The Scholarship for Minority Students Pursuing Higher and Professional Courses (DMER), Maharashtra 2025-26 is an initiative of the Minority Development Department, Government of Maharashtra, to provide financial assistance to minority students pursuing specified health science courses. Selected students will receive a scholarship amount of either the total annual course fee or ₹50,000, whichever is less.

EligibilityDeadline Date: 31-Mar-2026

To be eligible, an applicant must:-

  • be an Indian citizen
  • be a domicile of Maharashtra
  • belong to minority communities, including Muslim, Buddhist, Christian, Jain, Sikh, Parsi, and Jewish 
  • have taken admission to a course through CET/competitive exam or based on marks obtained in Higher Secondary School (HSC)
  • have taken admission in one of the following courses:
    • Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS)
    • Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS)
    • Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)
    • Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS)
    • Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery (BUMS)
    • Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPTH)
    • Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (BOTH)
    • Bachelor's in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (BASLP)
    • Bachelor in Prosthetics and Orthotics (BPO)
    • Bachelor of Paramedical Technology (BPMT)
    • B.Sc./M.Sc. Nursing
    • Ophthalmic Assistant
    • Optometry
    • Post Basic B.Sc Nursing
    • Courses affiliated with Maharashtra University of Health Science, Nashik
  • have an annual family income of less than or equal to ₹8,00,000
Benefits

The selected students will receive a scholarship amount of either the total annual course fee or ₹50,000, whichever is less.

  • School Leaving Certificate
  • HSC and SSC marksheets
  • Previous year's marksheets 
  • Father’s PAN card
  • Student’s PAN card (optional)
  • Mother’s PAN card (optional)
  • Income certificate of parents/Form no.16

If the applicant is studying outside Maharashtra, the following documents are required to be submitted:

  • Copy of Fees Regulatory Authority (FRA)
  • Bonafide for the current academic year
  • Letter from concerned council/authority stating the institute is recognised

Note:- The income certificate/affidavit should explicitly mention that the candidate belongs to a minority community.

How can you apply?

Eligible applicants can apply by following these steps:-
Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' button below.
Step 2: Click on the 'Register' button and fill in the required registration details. (Note: If already registered, log in using Gmail/Mobile number/Email ID).
Step 3: Navigate to the 'New Applicant Registration' button on the right-hand side of the dashboard and click on it.
Step 4: Fill in all required details, verify the email and the phone number, enter the captcha and click on the  'Register' button.
Step 5: After successfully registering on the portal, click on the 'Applicant login' button on the right-hand side of the dashboard.
Step 6: Log in using the username and password. 
Step 7: Fill in the necessary details, upload the required documents, and submit.

Selection Criteria

The candidates will be selected based on the fulfilment of the eligibility criteria.

Terms and Conditions
  • 30% of seats are reserved for girls.
  • If the targeted scholarship amount for a particular minority community is not achieved, scholarships for students from other minority communities can be included.
  • Students pursuing their education outside of Maharashtra are eligible for the scholarship, provided they are domiciled in Maharashtra or have resided in Maharashtra for at least 15 years.
