Deemed University Students to Get Maharashtra Post-Matric Scholarship

New Delhi, 2 February 2023 – Post-Matric Scholarship – Maharashtra has decided to expand the post-matric scholarship scheme to include deemed university students from socially and economically disadvantaged classes.

Scholarship Registration and Login

These students were previously ineligible for the programme.

  • A total of 14,232 students studying in 21 deemed universities throughout the state would benefit from this move. 
  • An estimated INR 118 crore will be spent on the initiative.
  • Maharashtra currently provides assistance through the scheme to students from socially and economically disadvantaged classes enrolled in institutions which are private and financially not aided. 
  • The decision in this regard was taken in a cabinet meeting on 31 January, 2023.

Maharashtra Post-Matric Scholarship – Eligibility

Tribal Development Department To be eligible, an applicant must –
Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme (Government of India)
  • Belong to Scheduled Tribe Category of Maharashtra
  • Have passed Class 10
  • Have an annual family income of less than or equal to INR 2.5 lakh
  • Not have a backlog of two or more years in their formal education
Tuition Fee and Exam Fee for Tribal Students (Freeship) 
  • Be a domicile of Maharashtra
  • Belong to ST community
  • Have an annual family income of not more than INR 2.50 lakh
Vocational Education Fee Reimbursement 
  • Be a domicile of Maharashtra
  • Be enrolled in vocational courses like Engineering, Pharmacy, Animal Husbandry, Vaastu Shastra, Dairy Development, MBA, or MCA 
  • Have an annual family income of more than INR 2.5 lakh
Vocational Education Maintenance Allowance 
  • Belong to ST community of Maharashtra
  • Be enrolled in a vocational course
  • Have an annual family income less than or equal to INR 2.5 lakhs per annum

Post-Matric Scholarship (Maharashtra) – How to Apply?

The steps listed below should be followed by eligible candidates to apply for the scholarship:

Step 1: Visit Maharashtra government’s official website – mahadbt.maharashtra.gov.in/Login/Login

Step 2: Click on the link that reads “New Applicant Registration.”

Career Assessment Test

Step 3: Enter all the required information and, then verify phone number and email ID.

Step 4: Finish the Aadhaar authentication procedure using OTP or biometrics. 

Step 5: Fill out the registration form by entering all the needed details.

Step 6: Use the username and password to log in.
