The application deadline for various NSP scholarships is closing in the month of January. The National Scholarship Portal (NSP) enlists a number of scholarships offered by different central government and state government departments. The last date to apply for various state scholarships on NSP lies between 09th and 31st January 2021. The key states include Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Goa, Jammu Kashmir, Manipur, Meghalaya, Puducherry, Tripura and Uttarakhand.
Here is a compilation of all the state-level NSP scholarships which are expiring in the month of December. If you find yourself eligible for any of them, you must apply for them within the stipulated time duration.
Assam Scholarships
Pre-Matric Scholarship for SC Students
SC category students of Assam who are studying in Class 9 and 10 are eligible for this scholarship. They must NOT be getting any other centrally-funded pre-matric scholarship. Also, their annual family income must be less than INR 2.5 lakh from all sources.

Post-Matric Scholarship for SC Students
Under this scheme, SC category students who are domiciles of Assam will get variable financial assistance for their studies at post-matriculation level. They must be studying in Class 11 or higher level. They are required to have passed matriculation or higher secondary examination from a recognized university or board. Their annual family income must be less than INR 2.5 lakh from all sources.

Arunachal Pradesh Scholarships
Umbrella Scheme for Education of ST Children Post Matric Scholarship
ST category students who are domiciles of Arunachal Pradesh are eligible for this scholarship. They must be studying at post-matriculation level (Class 11 to PhD level). They must have passed matriculation or higher secondary examination from a recognized board or university. The annual family income must be less than INR 2.50 lakh from all sources.

Scheme for Award of Stipend to ST Students
This scheme is open for ST category students who are domiciles of Arunachal Pradesh. They must be pursuing higher technical/professional courses from recognized institutions/universities. Also, they must have 75% or above attendance in the current academic year.

Dadra and Nagar Haveli Scholarships

Open for ST category students who are domiciles of Dadra and Nagar Haveli, this scholarship offers financial assistance for studies in Class 9 and 10. The annual income of the applicant’s family must be less than INR 2 lakh from all sources.

Post-Matric Scholarship to ST Students
Students who are domiciles of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu are eligible. They must belong to the ST category. They must be pursuing Class 11 to postdoctoral level studies. Also, their annual family income must be less than INR 2 lakh from all sources.

Goa Scholarships
Pre-Matric Scholarship for ST Students

Tripura Scholarships
Dr. Ambedkar Post Matric Scholarship for Economically Backward Classes (EBC)
Students who are residents of Tripura state and belong to General and Economic Backward Classes are eligible for this scholarship. They must be studying in intermediate, graduate or postgraduate courses in government institutions. Their annual family income must not exceed INR 1 lakh from all sources. Also, they are required to have passed the matriculation, higher secondary or any higher examination of a recognized University or Board of Secondary Education.

Pre-Matric SC Cleaning and Health Hazard Scholarship
Children of the persons who are manual scavengers as defined under section 2(l) (g) of Manual Scavenger Act 2013, tanners and flayers, waste pickers, or persons engaged in hazardous cleaning as defined in section 2(l) (d) of Manual Scavenger Act 2013 are eligible. They must be domiciles of Tripura state. Also, they must be enrolled in Class 1 to 10.

Post Matric Scholarship for OBC Students

The application process for these NSP scholarships involves simple steps. You just need to make sure that you apply well before the deadline in order to avoid any last-minute chaos. Follow the steps given below –
Step 1: Visit the official website of the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).
Step 2: Click on the ‘New Registration’ button and register on the portal. Make sure to provide correct information while registering.
Step 3: Once registered successfully, you will get your application ID and password on your registered email ID and mobile number. Make a login using the registered application ID and password.
Step 4: Continue filling the scholarship application form. It is important to fill the fields marked with an asterisk ‘*’.
Step 5: Upload all required documents in support of your application.
Step 6: Finally, submit the application form.
