SC, OBC Post Matric Scholarship Registration

The Education Department has extended the last date to apply for government post-matric scholarship scheme 2021. This decision was taken after several schools and teachers appealed for the deadline extension due to the paucity of application time provided to the students.

Scholarship Registration and Login

Previously, Scheduled Caste (SC) and Other Backward Class (OBC) students were asked to submit their documents and apply for post-matric scholarship 2021 by 10 January 2021. Both categories of students are required to submit an income certificate furnished by the SDM office showing that the student’s annual income is less than INR 2.5 lakh.

Considering that this deadline notice by the Education Ministry was sent to Delhi Government run and aided schools on a very short notice (i.e., 1 Jan 2021), Class XI and XII students had less than 10 days to submit their scholarship applications. Moreover, to produce the income certificate within such a brief timeline threatened the student’s chances of applying for the scholarship.

A statement released in a recent notice by the Education Ministry read, “This branch has been receiving telephone calls and some schools have also visited this office citing difficulty faced by students in obtaining documents/certificates within the short span of time and then entering details by last date January 10, 2021. They requested that the last date may be extended.

After taking various appeals into account, the Education Ministry ended up taking the decision to postpone the last date of post-matric scholarship applications, relieving a lot of students and teachers who worried about missing out on the scholarships in 2021.
