Post-Matric Scholarship for SC Students: Major Scholarship Programmes
SBIF Asha Scholarship Program 2024
This program aims to provide financial assistance to meritorious students from low-income families across India, ensuring the continuity of their education. This scholarship is open to students from Class 6 to 12 and for those who are pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate courses from the top 100 NIRF Universities/Colleges, IITs or MBA/PGDM courses from IIMs.
Eligibility Criteria:
- This is open to Indian nationals.
- Applicants must be pursuing their studies in Class 6 to 12.
- Applicants must have secured 75% marks or more in their last academic year.
- The annual family income of the applicants must not exceed ₹3,00,000
(Note: 50% of slots are reserved for female applicants and preference will be given to Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) applicants.)

Centrally Sponsored Scheme of Post-Matric Scholarship for SC Students, Jammu and Kashmir 2024
The Centrally Sponsored Scheme of Post-Matric Scholarship for SC Students is offered by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. It is meant for the SC students pursuing studies at the Post-Matric level (Class 11 to Postgraduation). The scholarship program aims to increase participation in higher education and facilitate the educational success of disadvantaged SC students by providing financial assistance for Post-Matric studies.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Applicants must be domiciled in Jammu and Kashmir and belong to SC category.
- They must be enrolled in a post-matric or post-secondary course in a recognised institution.
- They should have passed matriculation, higher secondary, or a higher-level exam from a recognised board.
- The annual family income of the applicant must not exceed ₹2,50,000.
- Applicants should not be receiving any other scholarship or stipend.
Benefits: The scholarship includes the following components for the complete duration of the course:
- Mandatory non-refundable fees, including tuition fee as decided by the State Fee Rationalisation Committee.
- Academic allowance and their details are tabulated below:

- The scholarship benefits are not available to applicants receiving other scholarships. However, applicants under this scheme may use free housing, grants, or other financial aid meant for books, equipment, and living expenditure.
Freeship Card: The eligible applicants can be admitted without upfront tuition or hostel fees. Qualified applicants will receive a freeship card from the state government.

Pathani Samanta Mathematics Talent Scholarship 2024-25
The Pathani Samanta Mathematics Talent Scholarship 2024-25 is offered by the School & Mass Education Department, Odisha for students who are pursuing their studies in Class 11 and 12. The objective of the scholarship programme is to provide financial assistance to meritorious students who have proficiency in mathematics and are pursuing their studies in Odia medium-recognised institutions in the state.
Eligibility Criteria:
- The applicant must be a resident in the State of Odisha.
- They must belong to SC, ST, OBC, SEBC or General category in Odisha.
- The applicant must be enrolled in Class 11 or 12 in an Odia medium Higher Secondary School affiliated with CHSE, Odisha.
(Note: The selected applicants can avail benefits of more than one scholarship at a time, including the Pathani Samanta Mathematics Talent Scholarship).
Benefits:
The selected applicants will receive a scholarship of ₹5,000 per annum.
(Note: The applicants previously awarded with Pathani Samanta Mathematics Talent Scholarship (PSMTS) can renew it for the next academic year provided they meet the criteria for promotion to Class 12.)

Free Coaching for DNT Students under SEED Scheme
Free Coaching for DNT Students under SEED Scheme is the initiative of the Development and Welfare Board for the De-notified, Nomadic, and Semi-Nomadic Communities (DWBDNC) under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. It aims to provide good-quality coaching to students belonging to De-Notified Tribes (DNT), Nomadic Tribes (NT), and Semi-Nomadic Tribes (SNT), empowering them to succeed in competitive examinations and secure suitable employment in the public or private sector.
Eligibility Criteria:
- This is open to applicants belonging to De-notified, Nomadic, and Semi-Nomadic Tribes.
- The applicants must be willing to pursue coaching for the following competitive examinations:
- Engineering (JEE)
- Medical (NEET)
- Law (CLAT)
- NDA (National Defence Academy)
- Non-Commissioned Military Ranks
- CA-CPT (Common Proficiency Test)
- SSC (Staff Selection Commission)
- RRB (Railway Recruitment Board)
- Bank/Insurance Company Recruitments
- PSU (Public Sector Undertakings) Recruitments
- State Police (Non-Gazetted Ranks, including Havaldar and Home Guard)
- Central Police (Non-Gazetted Ranks, including Assam Rifles (AR), Border Security Force (BSF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), National Security Guard (NSG), and Sahastra Seema Bal (SSB)) etc.
- The applicants should either be pursuing or should have passed Class 12.
- They must meet the following minimum qualifying marks criteria:
- The applicants pursuing Class 12 must have secured a minimum of 50% marks in Class 10.
- Those applicants having passed Class 12 must have secured a minimum qualifying marks in Class 12 necessary for competitive exams.
- The annual family income of the applicants must be less than or equal to ₹2,50,000.
- The applicants should not be availing of similar benefits (waiver for coaching classes) from any other Central Government or State Government Scheme.

Note:

- If the applicant has already taken admission, 100% of the course fees will be paid in a single installment at the time of scholar announcement.

3. Special Allowance: A special allowance of ₹2,000 per month will be provided to applicants with disabilities for expenses such as reader allowance, escort allowance, and helper allowance. To receive this special allowance, applicants must have a valid disability certificate indicating a disability of 40% or more. This allowance will be provided for the duration of the course or one year, whichever is less.
Note:
- Special allowance will be paid to applicants in one installment based on the number of months of coaching and the minimum duration limited to a maximum of 12 months.
- Monthly stipend and special allowance (if any) is to be paid at the time of confirmation of admission for all months based on the duration of the course.

The Next Genius Scholarship Program 2024
Offered by the Next Genius Foundation to students who are currently pursuing studies in Class 12 or have completed Class 12 and those availing a gap year. The selected students will receive financial aid specifically for their tuition fees.
Eligibility Criteria:
- The applicants should be an Indian citizen residing in India, Nepal, or Bangladesh, or a foreign national currently pursuing studies in India, Nepal, or Bangladesh
- They should have passed or be pursuing studies in Class 12 in a recognised institution/school, or those applicants with a gap year
- They should be willing to apply for an undergraduate course* at one of the following universities in the United States:

The selected applicants will receive financial aid for their tuition fees, with full scholarships covering 75% to 100% and partial scholarships covering 30% to 90%. They will join a vibrant community of scholars and gain access to various resources to support their academic journey.
Vahani Scholarship 2024-25
The Vahani Scholarship Trust is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering bright, underprivileged students from India by providing scholarships for pursuing studies in top universities. The organization selects exceptional students from Class 12 every year and aims to nurture future leaders who can inspire positive change in their communities.
Eligibility Criteria:
- The applicant must be an Indian citizen.
- The applicant must be enrolled in Class 12 and appear for final board exams.
- The applicant must have at least 85% marks in both Class 11 and 12.
- The applicant must apply for a full-time undergraduate program at a recognized Indian institution.
- The applicant’s family’s annual income must be less than ₹1,50,000.
Benefits:
The selected candidates will receive the following benefits:
- Full Financial Assistance: It covers academic and hostel/PG fees for the entire course duration.
- Laptop Stipend: ₹45,000 (one-time).
- Travel Stipend: One annual round-trip from the university to the hometown of applicants.

Post-Matric Scholarship (PMS) for SC/ST/BC/Disabled Category, Telangana 2024-25
It is an initiative of the Telangana Government to support students from SC/ST/BC/Disabled categories pursuing their higher education. The eligible applicants can receive tuition fee reimbursement for costs incurred on various courses, including intermediate, ITI, polytechnic, professional courses, graduate/postgraduate courses, and PhD.
Eligibility Criteria:
- The applicant must be an Indian citizen and a resident of Telangana.
- They must belong to SC, ST, Backward Classes (BC), Economically Backward Classes (EBC), or Disabled Welfare category.
- The applicant must have passed Class 10 and be pursuing further studies.
- They must have ensured at least 75% attendance in Class 10.
- The applicant’s family’s annual income must be less than the amounts prescribed for each category:
- ₹2,00,000 for SC/ST Category
- ₹1,50,000 for BC/EBC/Disabled Welfare Category (Rural)
- ₹2,00,000 for BC/EBC/Disabled Welfare Category (Urban)
Benefits:
The selected candidates will receive reimbursement of tuition fees ranging from ₹850 for intermediate courses to ₹6,90,000 for medical courses per annum. The tuition fee reimbursement will depend on the course of study. Furthermore, the selected scholars will also receive variable maintenance or mess charges every month.

Post-Matric Scholarship for SC Students, Tripura 2024
It is an initiative of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India for Scheduled Caste (SC) category students in the State of Tripura who are pursuing their studies at the post-matriculation or post-secondary level.
Eligibility Criteria:
- The applicant must be an Indian citizen and a resident of Tripura.
- They must belong to the Scheduled Caste (SC) category.
- They must be enrolled in a post-matriculation or post-secondary course in a recognized institution, college, or university.
- The applicant’s family’s annual income must not exceed ₹2,50,000.
Note:
- Age limit for regular admission of the students will be set by the respective institutions.
- The candidates repeating the same educational stage in different subjects (e.g., I.Sc. after I.A. or B.Com. after B.A.) are ineligible.
- The candidates enrolled in correspondence courses can apply only for distance and continuous education from Central/State Universities.
- The applicants receiving two scholarships simultaneously can choose one and inform the awarding authorities through their institution’s Head.
Benefits:
The selected applicants will receive the following benefits:

It is an initiative of the Department of Social Justice and Special Assistance, Government of Maharashtra to support SC/Neo-Buddhist students pursuing studies beyond Class 10 within the state. This scholarship aims to provide financial assistance to students and reduce dropout rates in educational institutions.
Eligibility Criteria:
- The applicant must be a domiciled resident of Maharashtra belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC) or Navbouddha community.
- They must have completed the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) or equivalent matriculation and be pursuing studies in Class 11 or above.
- The applicant must have an annual family income of ₹2,50,000 or less from all sources combined.
(Note: Applicants can pursue only two professional courses under this scheme.)

- The applicant must have passed the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) or equivalent matriculation exam.
- They must be pursuing their studies in Class 11 or above in a government-recognised institution in the state.
- The annual family income of the applicant must be ₹2,50,000 or less from all sources combined.

The sSelected applicants will receive a reimbursement of tuition fees, exam fees, and other admissible fees.

It is an initiative of the Department of Social Justice and Special Assistance, Government of Maharashtra to provide financial assistance to Scheduled Caste (SC) students of Class 11 and 12.
Eligibility Criteria:
- The applicant must be an Indian national and a domiciled resident of Maharashtra.
- They must belong to the Scheduled Caste (SC) category.
- The applicant must be pursuing their studies in Class 11 or 12 in a recognised school or institution.
- They must have secured 75% marks or more in Class 10.
Benefits:
Under this scheme, the selected candidates will receive financial assistance of ₹300 per month for 10 months, for a period of two years.
(Note: This scholarship is in addition to the GOI scholarship and freeship.)

Assistance to Meritorious Students Scholarship – Junior Level, Maharashtra 2024-25
It is the initiative of the Directorate of Higher Education (DHE), Government of Maharashtra, to provide financial assistance to students of Class 11 and 12 willing to pursue higher education.
Eligibility Criteria:
- The applicant must be an Indian national and a domiciled resident of Maharashtra.
- The applicant must be pursuing their studies in Class 11 or 12 in a recognised school or institution.
- The applicant must have achieved top ranks in the secondary and higher secondary examinations.
- They must hold a DHE-sanctioned letter.
Benefits:
The selected applicants at the AMS Junior level will be awarded a scholarship ranging from ₹1,600 to ₹2,300 or more, depending on the course, in accordance with government rules.

Post-Matric Scholarship for SC Students: How to Apply?
The application process for Post-Matric Scholarship for SC Students is simple and straightforward. Eligible candidates can adhere to the following steps:
Step 1: Click the ‘Apply Now’ button below.
Step 2: Click ‘Register’ and fill in the required details. (Note: If already registered, log in with your Gmail, mobile number, or email ID.)
Step 3: Go to the ‘Students’ option on the left side of the dashboard and click on it.
Step 4: Click the ‘Login’ button under the OTR option to apply for a scholarship on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).
Step 5: Click on the option ‘New user? Register yourself’ on the left side of the dashboard.
Step 6: Read the details, tick the checkbox, and click on ‘Next.’
Step 7: Enter a functional mobile number, captcha code, and OTP, then submit to complete registration.
Step 8: Fill in the required details and click ‘Save & Register’ to complete the One-time registration (OTR) process.
(Note: This is a temporary registration. Students need to download the OTR mobile app for face authentication.)
Step 9: After registration, go to ‘Apply for Scholarship’ and click on the ‘Login’ button.
Step 10: Select the scholarship, fill in the required details, upload necessary documents, and submit.
