HP Scholarship aims at providing financial aid to students who are a domicile of Himachal Pradesh. The state is home to many educational institutions that include five universities, two medical colleges, four dental colleges and two engineering colleges. HP Scholarship – The Complete List

There are more than 25 scholarships available to students under varied conditions and requirements. The state government has been actively working on providing easy access to HP scholarship to the deserving students. The students are open to a broad gamut of scholarships that can be categorized under state-sponsored, central sponsored and technical scholarship. HP Scholarship – Eligibility Criteria

All these scholarships have certain limitations and conditions for students to be eligible for them. The eligibility criteria for these numerous scholarships are different depending on the financial status and social status of students with the exception that the student ought to be a bona fide studying within the state or outside the state, within India having a valid AADHAR (UID/EID) credentials. The criteria have been mentioned below precisely for each and every HP scholarship mentioned.

Maulana Azad National Scholarship Scheme for Meritorious girl students belonging to Minorities Minority Groups
  • The student should be a girl belonging to a Minority Group (Muslim/ Sikh/ Christian/ Buddhist/ Jain/ Parsi)
  • They must be studying in class 12th to Ph.D. level of education at Govt. / recognized schools/ colleges/ institutes, including technical/ vocational courses
  • The annual family income of the student should not exceed INR 1 Lakh per annum.
  • The student must have secured at least 50% marks in the last qualifying examination.
National Means Cum Merit Scholarships For All
  • The student should belong to an economically weaker section with an annual family income not exceeding INR 1.5 Lakh per annum
  • The applicant should be a student of lower than 8th standard and must have dropped out of further studies.
Scholarship to Disabled Students For All
  • Trust Fund- The student should have a disability and should be pursuing a degree or PG level professional and technical courses from recognized institutions
  • National Fund- The student should have a disability and should be pursuing post matric professional and technical courses of more than one-year duration.
  • Post Matric or Pre-Matric- The student should have a disability and must be of either post matric or pre-matric education level.
Dr. Ambedkar Pre-Matric Scholarship for DNTs (CSS) Denotified, Nomadic, Semi-Nomadic Tribes
  • The student should belong to DNT category pursuing pre-matric level of education
  • The annual family income of the student should not exceed INR 2 Lakh per annum
Dr. Ambedkar Post-Matric Scholarship for DNTs (CSS) Denotified, Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Tribes
  • The student should belong to DNT category pursuing post matric level of education.
  • The annual family income of the student should not exceed INR 2 Lakh per annum

Technical Education HP Scholarship Schemes:

  • The student must have scored at least 60% marks in the last qualifying examinations.
  • They must be pursuing a P.G. Course / Degree Courses in Engineering / Technology including Architecture or any other equivalent course approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
  • The annual family income of the student should not exceed INR 3.6 Lakh per annum
Scholarships for Diploma Courses For All
  • The student should belong to a financially backward background and be a bona fide of Himachal Pradesh or ward of HP Government employees.
  • The student must have scored at least 60% marks in the last qualifying examination.
  • They must be pursuing Diploma level courses in Engineering / Technology including Architecture or any other equivalent course approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
  • The annual family income of the student should not exceed INR 36,000 per annum
Scholarships for ITI Students For All
  • The scholarship is applicable for ITI students.

HP Scholarship – How to Apply

Each HP scholarship invites applications from students of different background in order to promote education in the state.  The newly implemented HP ePass scholarship portal makes it easy and efficient for the students to apply for these scholarships. However, the applications for most of the centrally-sponsored and state-sponsored scholarships are now invited through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP). Here is a step by step application procedure on how to apply for an HP scholarship with ease through HP ePass Scholarship Portal and National Scholarship Portal.

HP Scholarship Application through HP ePass Portal

Step 1: Visit the HP ePass Scholarship Portal

  • Visit the Himachal Pradesh ePass Scholarship Portal
  • The list of Scholarship Schemes can be referenced by clicking on ‘Schemes Offered’

Step 2: Register

  • Click on ‘Student login’ in order to register yourself.
  • The User Id and Password will be provided through the specified phone number and email id of the student.

Note- Keep the User ID and Password safe, the same shall be used to track further progress of the scholarship application.

  • If you’re a new student click on New Student Registration and you will be redirected to the following page
  • If you do not have an Aadhar card click on ‘No’ and provide the Electronic Identification as ID proof and complete the registration

Step 3: Attach the required documents

Once you have completed the registration by providing valid and important details carefully, attach all the necessary documents required in the HP Scholarship application. Make sure to be conscious of all the documents being authentic and valid, they will be verified before the registration is confirmed and any or all invalid data provided will be rejected immediately.

The applicant will be required to fill in the following details in the application form:

Step 4: Submit your application

Prior to submitting the application form, make sure to re-check it in case of any accidental form of discrepancy processed through the information. The student can edit/ update or fill his form in parts, then take a printout of Online Application Form, and submit the same along with the scheme-specific document(s) to the respective institution, within the stipulated time as mentioned in the schedule

The progress of the application can be constantly tracked by logging in the HP Epass Scholarship Portal through the same ID and password provided to you at the time of registration.
After successful submission of the Online Application Form, it would be automatically forwarded to the Institute selected by the student for verification.

Note- If in case any error is detected by the student in their application form, they will have to separately inform the mistakes detected by them to the Institute/District/Region/State. The software provides the facility at the level of the Institute & State to edit& correct limited information.

HP Scholarship Application through National Scholarship Portal

The steps to be followed for application on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) are given below.

Step 1: Visit the official website of NSP.

Step 2: Check if your institution is listed on the portal or not by clicking on ‘Search for Institute’ button. If your institution is not registered, request them to register on the portal first.

Step 3: If your institution is registered, click on the ‘New Registration’ button and read all the guidelines carefully.

Step 4: Fill in all required details and register. You will receive an application ID and password on your registered mobile number.

Step 5: Make a login using the application ID and password and change the password as per your convenience.

Step 6: Once you enter the dashboard, click on the ‘Application Form’ to start the application.

Step 7: Fill in all required details in the application form and upload all relevant documents (as required).

Step 8: Finally, submit the application.

HP Scholarship – Documents Required

The basic requirement to be eligible for the HP scholarship is to be bonafide of Himachal Pradesh and further information alters depending on the scholarship scheme chosen by the student. A generic list of documents that a student needs to provide in support of his/her application has been mentioned below. The requirements might change along with the changing the selected scheme.

  • Aadhar card number
  • Mark sheet of the last qualifying examinations

HP Scholarship – Awards

The HP scholarship has been specifically created to assist students who belong to financially challenging backgrounds or are either from a minority group or reserved categories with limited means. These have also been implemented for disabled students. All of these schemes have a primary motive to empower education and motivate meritorious students to acquire a proper education and have an accomplished future. Only interest subsidy to the extent of 4% p.a. on education loan will be allowed.

Indira Gandhi Utkrisht Chattervriti Yojana for Post plus two Students The rate of the scholarship awarded will be INR 10,000 per annum per student.
