About The Program

Begum Hazrat Mahal National Scholarship Scheme for Minorities Girls 2022-23 is an initiative for minority girl students studying in Class 9 to 12. The scholarship is being offered by the Ministry of Minority Affairs (MoMA), Government of India. The scholarship aims to recognize, promote and assist girl students belonging to National Minorities who cannot continue their education due to a lack of financial support. The selected candidates will receive a scholarship of up to INR 6,000.

To be eligible, an applicant must - 

  • be a girl student belonging to Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, and Parsi communities 
  • be studying in Class 9 to 12
  • have secured at-least 50% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate in previous class/qualifying exam
  • have an annual family income of less than INR 2 lakh from all sources
Benefits

The selected candidates will receive a one-time scholarship in the following way - 

  • For girls studying in Class 9 and 10 - INR 5,000 each
  • For girls studying in Class 11 and 12 - INR 6,000 each
Documents
  • Income certificate, issued from a Competent Authority in the State/UTs Governments is required in respect of the parent/guardian of the student
  • Aadhaar Enrolment ID (EID) slip or a copy of the request made for Aadhaar enrolment
  • Self-Certified community certificate is required from a student who has attained 18 years of age. For others, the Community Certificate certified by the parent/guardian of the student is required
  • Bank passbook with photograph/Ration Card/Permanent Account Number (PAN) Card issued by the Income Tax Department or Passport or Certificate of Identity having a photo of such student issued by a Headmaster or Principal of School under the official seal of the school/Driving license issued by the Licensing Authority under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 (59 of 1988) or any other documents specified by the State Government or Union territory Administration
How can you apply?

Eligible candidates can apply for the scholarship through the following steps -

Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' link below. 
Step 2: Navigate to 'Applicant Corner'and click on 'New Registration'.
Step 3: Now click on 'Click here for other Scholarship Schemes hosted on NSP for AY 2022-23'.
Step 4: Read the guidelines carefully, select the undertaking, and 'Continue'
Step 5: Select the state of domicile, scholarship category (Pre Matric), scheme type (scholarship scheme), gender, and write the applicant's name, date of birth, mobile number, email ID.
Step 6: Provide the bank details (Bank name, IFSC Code, Account Number)
Step 7: Select Aadhaar or Bank Account Number as identification detail and click on the 'Register' button.
Step 8: The mobile number will be verified and an OTP will be generated.
Step 9: Now, log in using OTP and fill the application form.
Step 10: After successful submission of the application form, an application ID and password will be generated which can be used for future references.

Note - All the applicants are advised to fill the form correctly, no changes can be made once submitted. The applicants are also advised to fill in only one application as multiple applications will cancel the form.

Last Date for Institute Verification: 30th November 2022

Selection Criteria

The candidate will be selected based on the marks percentage obtained by the candidates in the qualifying exam and the parent’s/ guardian’s annual income.

The merit lists will be prepared for the selection of students based on the marks obtained in the qualifying exam. State-wise-community-wise quota is fixed on the basis of the minority population of the state in accordance with the 2011 Census.

Terms and Conditions
  • The submitted income certificates should be either in English or Hindi. In the case of any other language, a notarized translation should be attached to the certificate. 
  • Submission of more than one application form will result in the rejection of the form.
  • The scholarship amount will be directly transferred into the beneficiary's bank account through DBT mode. 
  • The scholarship will not be granted for studies abroad.
  • A student will be eligible for only one scholarship out of all the available Scholarships of the Central Government meant for SC/ST/OBC/minority.
  • The scholarship will not be given to more than two students from a family of the same class.
  • If a student violates school discipline or any other terms and conditions of the scholarship, the scholarship can be suspended or cancelled. The State Government/Union Territory Administration can also directly cancel the award if duly satisfied with the reasons for violation of these regulations governing the scheme.
  • The student obtaining benefits under this scheme shall not be allowed to avail of benefits under any other scheme for this purpose.
  • If a student is found to have obtained a scholarship by false statement, the scholarship will be cancelled forthwith and the amount of the scholarship paid will be recovered by the concerned State/UT Govt.
