Assam Scholarship – Key Eligibility

Every Assam scholarship comes with a pre-defined set of eligibility conditions that you need to fulfil to receive the scholarship amount. These conditions majorly depend upon your current academic qualification and financial need. The key eligibility condition that is applicable for all Assam scholarships is that the students must be a domicile or permanent resident of Assam state. 3. Pre-Matric Scholarship for OBC Students, Assam For OBC
  • The students of class 1 to 10 can apply for this scholarship.
  • They must hold a minimum attendance of 60% in the previous year.
  • The annual income of the family should be less than INR 2.50 Lakh.
4. Pre-Matric Scholarship for ST Students (Class 1 to 8), Assam For ST
  • This scholarship is open for students who are studying in class 1 to 8 at an institution recognised by the Government of Assam.
  • The annual income of the family should be less than INR 50,000.
5. Pre-Matric Scholarship for ST Students (Class 9 & 10), Assam For ST
  • The scholarship is applicable for students who are studying in class 9 and 10 (full-time) at a government school or a government recognised school.
  • The annual income of the family should be less than INR 2 Lakh per annum.
  • The applicants should not be in receipt of any other centrally-funded pre-matric scholarship.
6. Post Matric Scholarship for OBC Students, Assam For OBC
  • The students pursuing their studies at post-matriculation level (class 11 to postdoctoral level) from a recognised institution can apply for this scholarship.
  • The annual income of the family should not exceed INR 1.50 Lakh per annum from all sources.
7. Post Matric Scholarship for ST Students, Assam For ST
  • The scholarship is open for students pursuing studies at post-matriculation level (class 11 to post-doctoral level) from a recognised institution.
  • The annual income of the family should be less than INR 2 Lakh from all sources.
8. Means cum Merit Scholarship, Assam For all
  • Students pursuing a full-time degree course in the stream of arts, science or commerce at a government/provincialized college of Assam can apply for this scholarship.
  • They must have secured at least 60% marks or above in higher secondary examination.
  • The annual income of the family should not exceed INR 2.50 Lakh per annum.
9. National Talent Search Exam (NTSE) For all
  • This is a national level examination, conducted at state-level for students of class 10 who are studying at recognised schools.
  • The students pursuing their studies through open distance learning can also apply for the exam if they are below 18 years of age.
10. Assam Foundation of North America Akadamics Scholarship For all
  • Students, who are enrolled in a bachelor’s degree course in any discipline can apply for this scholarship.
  • They must have passed their higher secondary/ CBSE/ ISC/ Pre-University examination.
  • The annual income of the family should be INR 50,000 or less.
11. Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme for Central Armed Police Forces and Assam Rifles For all
  • The scholarship is open for the wards and widows of CAPF and AR personnel (who died at work), Ex-CAPFs and AR personnel (who became disabled at work) and retired personnel (below officer rank).
  • They must be pursuing degree courses like medicine, engineering, veterinary, BBA, BSc, Dental, BCA, MBA, MCA, etc.
  • They must have completed their qualifying examination (class 12, diploma or graduation) with at least 60% marks.

Assam Scholarship – Rewards

What is the amount of scholarship that you will receive with an Assam scholarship? How will you get the scholarship amount, if selected? The scholarship amount generally varies from scheme to scheme. While some scholarships are available in the form of cash rewards to students, there are some scholarships that cover partial or full fees of study. Most of the government scholarships transfer the scholarship amount directly into the account of the students through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer). Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme for Central Armed Police Forces & Assam Rifles

This scholarship is applicable for dependent widows and wards of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) and Assam Rifles (AR) Personnel who lost their lives while serving public or government or wards of ex- CAPFs and ARs who have been a recipient of gallantry awards or wards of serving and retired CAPFs and ARs.

The objective of this scheme is to motivate them to pursue their professional and technical education with scholarships worth INR 2250 per month for female scholars and INR 2000 per month for male scholars.

Means cum Merit Scholarship, Assam

This scholarship is meant for students of Assam domicile who are pursuing ga raduate level degree course in Arts, Science or Commerce discipline from any government or provincialized colleges of Assam. The objective of this scholarship is to provide one-time assistance to the poor but meritorious students of the state to pursue their higher studies. The selected applicants will receive scholarships worth INR 1000 per month.

National Talent Search Examination (NTSE)

This examination aims at nurturing and identifying talented students of class 10 and providing them with suitable financial support to pursue studies at various stages. It is two-level examination that offers a cash reward of up to INR 2000 will be given to 1000 students after they qualify both the levels of examination including state level and national level.
