Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Shikshan Shulk Shishyavrutti Yojna

Implemented by the Directorate of Higher Education (DHE) and the Directorate of Art (DOA), this scheme aims to assist students of the state hailing from economically disadvantaged backgrounds who are enrolling in both professional and non-professional courses in recognised institutions, including government colleges, non-government aided colleges, partially aided colleges, and unaided colleges, as well as non-agricultural universities and their affiliated centres. It must be pointed out that the scholarship does not cover private universities or self-financed private institutions, and it is applicable to no more than two children from a family.

Eligibility Criteria

  • It is open to students pursuing a professional or non-professional course approved by the Director of Higher Education (DHE) in government or government-aided universities/colleges.
  • Students should have been admitted under the General or Socially and Economically Backward Classes (SEBC) category.
  • Annual family income of the applicants should not exceed ₹8 lakh.
  • Students hailing from the Maharashtra-Karnataka border area can also apply for the scheme.

Eligible courses under the scheme should be approved  by the following:

  • Governments and universities
  • All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE)
  • Pharmacy Council of India (PCI)
  • Council of Architecture (COA)
  • Medical Council of India (MCI)
  • National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) etc.

The scheme does not cover distance learning, virtual learning, or part-time courses. Students who are receiving benefits from any other scholarship or stipend are ineligible for this scheme.

Career Assessment Test

This scholarship offers tuition fees on the basis of a scale of income limit. For male students, it is as follows:

  • Up to ₹2.5 lakh annual income (for students enrolled in professional courses): 100% tuition fee for government and non-government institutions, 50% tuition fee for government-aided and unaided institutions. 
  • ₹2.5 to ₹8 lakh annual income (for students enrolled in professional courses): 50% tuition fee for government and non-government, aided and unaided institutions.
  • Up to ₹8 lakh annual income (for students enrolled in non-professional courses): 100% tuition fee for government and non-government, aided and unaided institutions.

The scholarship also offers 50% (for professional courses) and 100% (for non-professional courses) towards exam fees. Female students are eligible for 100% coverage on every scale.

Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Merit Scholarship for VJNT & SBC Category

Implemented by the VJNT, OBC and SBC Welfare Department, this scheme aims to assist students of the state hailing from the Denotified Tribes (Vimukta Jatis/VJ), Nomadic Tribes, and Special Backward Classes who are pursuing their studies in Class 11 and 12. This is a merit-based opportunity that can be received in conjunction with a post-matric scholarship by the Maharashtra government, however, students with gaps in their academic journey are ineligible. This opportunity is not limited by an income ceiling.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Only students hailing from the Vimukta Jati and Nomadic Tribes (VJNT) or Special Backward Class (SBC) category are eligible.
  • Students must be pursuing their studies in Classes 11 and 12 in a junior college.
  • Obtaining 75% marks or more in Class 10 examination is necessary for this scholarship.

Buddy4Study - Education Loan

Benefits

This scholarship offers ₹300 per month for 10 months, applicable towards freeship as well.

DTE Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Shikshan Shulkh Shishyavrutti Yojna (EBC) Students

Managed and implemented by the Department of Technical Education, this scheme assists bonafide students hailing from the Economically Backwards (EBC) pursuing their studies in institutes admitted via the Centralized Admission Process (CAP). Please note that the scholarship covers no more than 2 children from an individual family.

Eligibility Criteria

  • This is open to students who have taken admission in a professional and technical course (diploma/graduation/postgraduation degree course) as mentioned in the Government Resolution (GR).
  • The students must be admitted through a Centralised Admission Process (CAP).
  • A minimum of 50% attendance in the previous semester (except for fresh college admits) is necessary.
  • Students must have an annual family income that does not exceed ₹8 lakh.

Students who are receiving benefits from any other scholarship or stipend are ineligible for this scheme. A maximum of a 2-year academic gap is allowed.

Benefits

The scholarship offers a disbursement of 50% and 100% scholarship benefits for male and female students, respectively. This is disbursed in 2 installments in Aadhaar-seeded bank accounts.

Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Shikshan Shulkh Shishyavrutti Yojna (EBC) Students

Implemented by the Maharashtra Animal and Fishery Sciences University (MAFSU) and Maharashtra Council of Agriculture Education and Research (MCAER), this scheme assists bonafide Economically Backwards Class students in institutes admitted via the Centralised Admission Process (CAP). It must be pointed out that the scholarship does not cover deemed institutions and more than 2 children from a single family.

Eligibility Criteria

  • This is open to students who have taken admission under the general category in a professional and technical course (diploma/graduation/postgraduation degree course) as mentioned in the Government Resolution (GR).
  • The students must be admitted through a Centralised Admission Process (CAP).
