INSPIRE Scholarship – Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research Scholarship for Higher Education (SHE)

INSPIRE Scholarship for Higher Education is a government scholarship which offers an amount of INR 80,000 per annum to the meritorious students who undertake Bachelor and Masters level studies in Natural & Basic Sciences. Under this scholarship scheme, 10,000 merit scholarships are disbursed every year for a maximum duration of 5 years on the condition that the selected scholar demonstrates good academic performance every year. The application for INSPIRE Scholarship can be submitted online.

Eligibility: Applicants must be among top 1% in terms of aggregate marks in class 12 board exam, must be pursuing B.Sc. or Integrated M.Sc. in Natural and Basic Sciences, must be among top 10,000 rankers of JEE-Advance, JEE-Mains or NEET and would opt for Natural & Basic Sciences, those candidates admitted in IISER, NISER, DAE-CBS, KVPY, NTSE, JBNSTS & Science Olympiad medallists opting for Natural & Basic Sciences are also eligible, must be in the age group 17 to 22 years.

Award: INR 80,000 per annum per scholar

KVPY – Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana

KVPY (Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana is a government-funded national merit scholarship which offers a monthly amount of up to INR 7,000 along with a contingency grant to meritorious students who are studying in class 11 & 12 (PCM/B), 1st year of B.Sc/BS/BStat/BMath) or Integrated M.Sc course in Basic Sciences. Under this merit-based scholarship scheme, applicants go through aptitude test and interview round before the final selection for the KVPY scholarship.

Eligibility: Class 11 & 12 students or 2nd-year students studying in Cambridge International Exam Board with at least 75% marks in Maths & Science subjects in class 10th board exam; students studying in 1st year of B.Sc/BS/B.Stat/B.Math or Integrated M.Sc, MS of Basic Science related subjects with a score of at least 60% marks in Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology in class 12 board exam; SC/ST/PWD candidates are given a relaxation of 10% in marks

Award: INR 5,000 per month during 1st to 3rd year of B.Sc/BS/B.Stat/B.Math/Integrated M.Sc/MS along with the contingency grant of INR 20,000 per annum; INR 7,000 during the 4th & 5th years of Integrated M.Sc/MS/M.Math/M.Stat with a contingency grant of INR 28,000 per annum

NTSE Scholarship

This is a talent search exam conducted by NCERT for the students of class 10. The selected candidates receive a scholarship amount of up to INR 2,000 per month. Conducted at two levels, i.e., state and national, NTSE gives out around 1,000 scholarships every year to talented students who qualify NTSE. Under this national merit scholarship, students receive the scholarship benefit up to doctoral level, provided students fulfil the conditions laid by NCERT at every level of study.

Eligibility: Students studying in class 10 in a recognised school, students of Open and Distance Learning (ODL) can also apply

Award: Students selected for NTSE scholarship get INR 1,250 per month at class 11 & 12 level, INR 2,000 per month at UG & PG level and at PhD level, the scholarship amount is as per UGC norms

NEC Scholarship – Merit-Based Scholarships, Tripura

This government scholarship is one of the top merit scholarships which offers a stipend of up to INR 30,000 per annum to the meritorious students of Tripura who are pursuing professional/technical/management/M.Phil/Ph.D. programmes within or outside North-East. Applicants can avail this scholarship by applying online through National Scholarship Portal.

Eligibility:  Applicant must be a permanent resident of Tripura, must have scored a minimum 70% marks (60% in case of SC/ST candidates) in the last qualifying exam for diploma/degree/PG/M.Phil and Ph.D. courses, annual family income must not exceed INR 4.5 Lakh, must not be in receipt of any other scholarship

Award: INR 20,000 per annum for diploma level course, INR 22,000 per annum for degree level programmes, INR 25,000 annually for PG course, INR 30,000 annually for M.Phil/Ph.D.

Medhabruti Scholarship

This scholarship is a merit-based scholarship which offers a scholarship amount of up to INR 10,000 to meritorious students of Odisha who wish to pursue higher education in the field of general, technical and professional courses. Candidates can only apply for this scholarship in the year of joining (1st year).

Eligibility: Applicants must be the residents of Odisha, must have scored at least 60% marks in the last exam appeared, annual family income must not be more than INR 6 Lakh

Swami Vivekananda Merit cum Means Scholarship

This scholarship is a merit cum means scholarship which offers a monthly amount of up to INR 8,000 to meritorious and needy students of minority communities. This scholarship is meant for students of West Bengal studying in class 11 to doctoral level.

Eligibility: Applicant must be a domicile of West Bengal and studying in West Bengal, candidate at higher secondary/diploma/UG level must have scored at least 75% marks in class 10 & 12 respectively, applicant at PG level must have scored at least 53% marks in graduation in case of general education or 55% marks in case of engineering, annual family income must not exceed INR 2.5 Lakh.

UGC Merit Scholarship – Post Graduate Merit Scholarship for University Rank Holders PG Scholarships for Professional Courses

This UGC merit-based scholarship offers a monthly amount of INR 3,100 for two years to rank holders of undergraduate courses who are enrolled in a master’s programme at a recognised college/university. An MHRD scheme, this scholarship is meant for applicants who are not more than 30 years of age and are pursuing their first postgraduate degree. Candidates studying a PG course through distance mode cannot apply for this scholarship.

Eligibility: 1st or 2nd rank holders at UG level, must be enrolled in a full-time PG programme, must have done graduation in Life Sciences/Physical Sciences/Chemical Sciences/Earth Sciences/Mathematical Sciences/Social Sciences/Commerce/Languages, must not be above 30 years in age

Award: INR 3,100 per month for two years

Aditya Birla World Academy Scholarship is a corporate-funded national merit scholarship which offers full tuition fee as scholarship benefit to those students of Aditya Birla World Academy who are studying in class 11 (IB DP and/or A-Level). Outside students can also apply for this merit-based scholarship if they are seeking admission into class 11 (IB DP and/or A-Level). Merck Scholarship – Merck India Charitable Trust (MICT) Scholarship Program

Merck Scholarship is a corporate scholarship which offers an amount of INR 35,000 annually to class 10 passed meritorious students. This merit-based scholarship is meant for the students of Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane and Bengaluru. Under this scholarship scheme, 150 students are selected for the disbursal of scholarship.

Dhirubhai Ambani Scholarship is one of the top national merit scholarships started by the Reliance Foundation. North South Foundation (NSF) Scholarship is a merit-based scholarship which offers a scholarship amount of up to INR 25,000 to meritorious students who have passed class 12. This scholarship is a means as well as merit-based scholarship which offers an amount of INR 20,000 annually to students who are studying in the 1st semester of B.Tech. Under this scholarship scheme, selected students receive the benefits till they graduate, provided they maintain first division marks.

Eligibility: Students must be studying in 1st semester of B.Tech. degree of a government college, must be the permanent residents of Udaipur, Rajsamand, Chittorgarh, Bhilwara and Ajmer districts of Rajasthan, must have secured at least 75% marks in senior secondary exam, annual family income must not exceed INR 2.5 Lakh.

IndusInd Foundation Merit-cum-Means Scholarship

This scholarship is a means as well as merit-based scholarship which offers an amount of up to INR 1,500 per month to needy meritorious students who have passed class 12 and have secured admission in a regular degree programme.

Eligibility: Students who have passed class 12 in the current academic year with a minimum 85% marks (aggregate), must have taken admission in a regular degree course of a recognised university in India

Baba Gurbachan Singh Scholarship

This scholarship is a merit-cum-means scholarship which offers up to 100% tuition fee assistance to students who are studying in 1st year of a degree/diploma course. Under this scholarship scheme, 1st-year students of B.A., BSc, B.Com, Engineering (Diploma), Hotel Management, BBA, BCA, M.Com, M.A., MCA, Diploma/Degree or Training in any Sport, Instrumental Music/Vocal Music courses can avail the scholarship benefits.

Eligibility: Applicants with 60% or above marks in class 10 or 12, must be studying in 1st year of diploma/degree course, annual family income must not exceed INR 3.5 Lakh, applicants can be regular or correspondent students.

Note: Needy students with less than 60% marks can be considered for the scholarship in case of special circumstances.

SOF Girl Child Scholarship Scheme (GCSS)

SOF Girl Child Scholarship Scheme is a merit-based scholarship which offers a scholarship amount of INR 5,000 per annum to meritorious and needy girl students who are studying in class 1 to 10. Under this scholarship scheme, a total of 300 girl students receive this scholarship benefit every year.

Eligibility: Girl students studying in class 1 to 10 with a score of 60% or equivalent in the previous class, must have a family income INR 15,000 per month

Award: INR 5,000

Fair and Lovely Scholarship

Fair and Lovely is a national level merit-based scholarship which offers a scholarship amount of INR 25,000 to INR 50,000 to college-going girl students who are within the age group of 15 to 30 years. Under this scholarship scheme, at least 55 girl students are selected for the disbursal of Fair and Lovely scholarship.

Eligibility: Applicants must be girls, within the age group of 15 to 30 years, passed class 12, secured at least 60% marks in class 10 and 12 board exam, annual family income must not be more than INR 6 Lakh

Award: One-time scholarship of INR 25,000 to INR 50,000 per student

WISDOM Scholarship

WISDOM Scholarship started by WISDOM Education Foundation is a merit-based scholarship. It selects 100 students on the basis of their performance in the WISDOM Scholarship exam which tests their aptitude in the subjects of Science and Mathematics. Up to INR 2,000 is offered to rank holders studying in class 3 to 8.

Eligibility: Students of class 3 to 8

Award: Up to INR 2,000 and merit certificates, Gold, Silver & Bronze for first three rank holders

Dr. Reddy’s Foundation Sashakt Scholarship

This scholarship is for those meritorious girl students who are confident of getting into India’s best Science colleges after passing class 12. Under this scholarship scheme, students receive INR 2.4 Lakh for three years to pursue higher studies. Institutions like Hindu College, Miranda College and Hansraj College of Delhi, Vivekananda College of Kolkata, Loyola and Madras Christian College of Chennai and several others come under this merit-based scholarship scheme.

Eligibility: Girl students who have passed class 12 and are confident of getting admitted into the best Science colleges of India, applicants with rural background, financially weak background and interest in scientific research can apply.

This scholarship is a merit-based scholarship which offers an amount of up to INR 2.5 Lakh to class 12 passed meritorious girls who wish to pursue an education in any scientific field. Under this scholarship scheme, shortlisted candidates go through a round of interview before final selection for the scholarship.

Eligibility: Girl applicants who have passed class 12 from Science stream with at least 85% marks in PCB/PCM, have taken admission in a graduate programme in the current academic year, are not more than 19 years of age, have not more than INR 4 Lakh as annual family income

Award: INR 2.5 Lakh in equal instalments over the period of the degree of study, provided the candidate passes each year of study

GP Birla Scholarship

This scholarship is a merit-based scholarship which offers an annual scholarship amount of INR 50,000 to class 12 passed students of West Bengal. Under this scholarship scheme, 100 scholarships are disbursed amongst the selected candidates after qualifying a round of interview.

Eligibility: Applicants must be a domicile of West Bengal, must have passed class 12 with at least 80% marks from the state board or 85% from CBSE, must be continuing studies in any of the streams like humanities, science, medicine and several others from a recognised college/university.

Award: INR 50,000 per annum along with a one-time payment of INR 7,000 towards the purchase of books in the 1st year of the course

Bighelp Merit-Based Scholarship

This scholarship is a merit-based scholarship which offers an amount of INR 5,000 per annum till graduation to class 10 passed students. Under this scholarship scheme, applicants are selected through a telephonic interview and are awarded the scholarship amount every year until the completion of their graduation.

Eligibility: Class 10 passed applicants with at least 98% marks or 9.8 GPA, must have studied at a government/municipal/Zilla Parishad school, annual family income must not be more than INR 1 Lakh, must not hold agricultural land more than 1 Acre

Award: INR 5,000 per annum for up to 6 years (up to INR 30,000) or until the completion of graduation/technical degree, whichever is earlier

SRM Scholarship

SRM Scholarship is a merit scholarship which offers up to 100% tuition fee waiver and other benefits to class 12 passed students who are applying for undergraduate courses in SRM University. Under this scholarship, applicants are judged on the basis of their academic performance. Applicants with academic gap cannot apply for this scholarship. Also, SRM scholarship is only renewed if the scholar maintains a score of 8.0 CGPA.

Eligibility: Students must have passed class 12 in the current academic year, be applying for UG courses in the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS) and the School of Liberal Arts and Basic Sciences (SLABS) of SRM University, have scored 60% marks in PCM (if applying for SEAS) or 60% average (if applying for SLABS), annual family income must not exceed INR 4 Lakh.

Award: 100% scholarship to 20 candidates, 75% scholarship to 40 candidates, 50% scholarship to 60 candidates & 25% scholarship to 80 candidates, the scholarship includes tuition fee, mess charges and hostel fee

RGIPT M.Tech Fellowship

This fellowship offered by Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology is meant for engineering graduates who have qualified GATE exam and wish to study M.Tech. degree in Petroleum and Chemical engineering. Under this scheme, meritorious students are selected who receive a monthly amount of INR 12,400.

Eligibility: Applicants with 4-year B.Tech or B.E degree in Petroleum Engineering with at least 60% marks or 6.0 CPI (55% or 5.5 CPI in case of SC/ST), must have qualified GATE exam

Award: INR 12,400 per month for four semesters only

Debesh-Kamal Scholarships

This scholarship is a merit scholarship which offers an amount of INR 1 Lakh to meritorious postgraduate degree holders who want to pursue higher education or research work from abroad. Under this scholarship, applicants are required to produce adequate proof that they have other financial resources as well to fund their education abroad since the amount of Debesh-Kamal Scholarship is not enough to complete the course.

Eligibility: Applicant must have first-class marks at postgraduate level, must not be more than 30 years of age at the time of applying for the scholarship, area of study could be Humanities and Basic Sciences or other disciplines such as social sciences and applied science and technology

Award: INR 1,00,000

Saryu Doshi Post Graduate Fellowship

Saryu Doshi Post Graduate Fellowship is a merit-based fellowship which offers an amount of up to INR 3 Lakh to graduates who wish to pursue education from abroad. Under this merit scheme, applicants are shortlisted for the receipt of the scholarship after a round of interview.

Eligibility: Applicants with 1st class degree from a recognised university, must have secured admission in a foreign university on the basis of their merit, final year students can also apply

DLF Foundation Scholarship – Nurturing Talent Programme

This DLF Foundation scholarship named as Nurturing Talent Programme is a merit scholarship which offers an amount of INR 40,000 per annum to class 5 passed students who are going to be enrolled in class 6. Under this scholarship scheme, 100 students are selected every year who avail the scholarship benefits till they pass class 12.

Eligibility: Applicants must be a domicile of Gurugram, have scored at least 80% marks in class 5 exam, belong to an underprivileged family, 1 child per family can avail this scholarship

Award: INR 40,000 per annum till class 12, counselling, remedial classes based on academic performance, personal grooming/career coaching through summer & winter camps, life skill training, thematic workshops and other benefits

DLF Foundation Scholarship – AKANKSHA Scholarship

This DLF Foundation scholarship named as AKANKSHA Scholarship is one of the merit scholarships which offers INR 50,000 per annum to meritorious students who are in the 1st year of an undergraduate or a postgraduate programme. Under this DLF Foundation Scholarship scheme, 1st-year students of B.Tech, MBBS, Paramedics, CS/CA/ICWA, LLB, BBA, Mass Communication, Hotel Management, MBA and M.Tech can avail this scholarship. Applicants securing admission in Ivy League colleges are also considered for this scholarship.

Eligibility: Meritorious students who have taken admission in a UGC/NAAC approved college, have annual family income not more than INR 5 Lakh, exceptions are made in case of exemplary academic performance by applicants if their annual family income falls within INR 5-8 Lakh

Award: INR 50,000 per annum till the completion of the study, provided the candidate fulfils all the academic criteria every year of the course

Schindler Igniting Minds Scholarship

Schindler Igniting Minds Scholarship is a merit scholarship which offers a one-time scholarship amount of INR 20,000 to meritorious students of class 10 and 12 who are pursuing a diploma course from a Polytechnic/ITI college. Under this scholarship scheme, 75 merit scholarships are distributed among selected candidates out of which 50% are for girl candidates.

Eligibility: Applicants must be studying ITI diploma/polytechnic diploma in Electrical/Mechanical/Civil/Electronics & Telecommunication, must have scored at least 65% aggregate in class 10 & 12, must have scored at least 75% marks in previous exam in case the applicant is in 2nd or 3rd year of diploma course, annual family income should not exceed INR 2 Lakh, must not be more than 20 years in age

Award: INR 20,000 per scholar

Tata Housing Scholarship

Tata Housing Scholarship is one of the top merit scholarships which offers an amount of up to INR 60,000 to girl students who are in the 2nd year of B.Tech/BE/B.Arch programme. Under this scholarship, girl candidates belonging to economically weaker sections of the society can avail the scholarship benefits.

Eligibility: Girl students with 50% marks in the all qualifying exam, must be studying in 2nd year of B.Tech/BE/B.Arch. degree, annual family income must not exceed INR 3 Lakh

Hindustan Times Scholarship

This scholarship is a nationally acclaimed merit scholarship which offers a scholarship of up to INR 50,000 to meritorious school students who are studying in class 5 to 9. Under this scholarship scheme, 100 merit scholarships are distributed among selected school students.

Eligibility: Applicants must be studying in class 5 to 9, must belong to Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane regions of Maharashtra, Pune, Chandigarh, Panchkula, and Mohali, must have scored a minimum 60% marks in the final exam

Award: INR 50,000 is given to each selected candidate from Mumbai region, INR 25,000 is given to candidates from Chandigarh, Panchkula, and Mohali

Marubeni Scholarship

Marubeni Scholarship is one of the merit-based scholarships which offers a minimum amount of INR 40,000 to meritorious and needy students who have passed class 12 and are studying in the 1st year of graduation. This scholarship is meant for students of Punjab and Chandigarh only. To avail this scholarship, applicants undergo two rounds of interviews – one a telephonic interview and the other, a personal interview.

Eligibility: Applicants with more than 75% marks in class 12 board exam, must be studying in the 1st year of a full-time undergraduate/professional/technical course, must belong to Punjab or Chandigarh, must not be getting any other scholarship whose amount is more than INR 6,000 per annum, annual family income must not be more than INR 2 Lakh.

Award: INR 40,000 (minimum) per scholar
