JBNSTS Junior Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must meet the following criteria to qualify for the JBNSTS Junior Scholarship/Junior Bigyani Kanya Medha Britti:
- Applicants must be permanent residents of West Bengal or have passed their Class 10 examination from a school in West Bengal.
- Students must have passed the Class 10 (Madhyamik or equivalent) examination in 2025 with a minimum of 75% marks or equivalent CGPA in aggregate.
- Candidates must be enrolled in Class 11 in the science stream at a recognised school or institute in West Bengal or other specified states during the 2025 academic year.
- Students must have selected at least three subjects from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, Statistics, or Computer Science in their Class 11 curriculum.

Exam Structure
The Junior Talent Search Test (JTST) is a 2-hour written exam worth 90 marks, covering:
- Physical Science: 6 questions (30 marks).
- Mathematics: 6 questions (30 marks).
- Life Science: 6 questions (30 marks). Each question carries 5 marks, based on the Class 10 syllabus (NCERT or West Bengal Board). Selection involves progression through two phases: a written test and a personal interview. Approximately 450 of over 15,000 applicants are shortlisted for interviews, with 200 Junior Scholars, 50 Female Scientist awardees, and 50 encouragement awardees selected.
JBNSTS Senior Scholarship 2025
JBNSTS Senior Scholarship/Senior Bigyani Kanya Medha Britti is a merit-based program to support talented students in West Bengal pursuing undergraduate studies in Basic Sciences (Hons.), Engineering, or Medicine at registered institutions.
JBNSTS Senior Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
The Senior Talent Search Test (STST) is for students pursuing undergraduate studies. Candidates must:
- The candidate must be a permanent resident of West Bengal.
- The candidate must have passed the Class 12 examination in 2025 with at least 75% marks in aggregate.
- The candidate must be enrolled in a B.Sc. (Hons.), B.Tech, B.E., or MBBS program at a registered institution in West Bengal.
- The candidate must have secured at least 60% marks in the Class 10 examination.

Step 2: Navigate to the scrolling notification for the JBNSTS – Talent Search Examination 2025 and click on the respective exam you want to apply for.

JBNSTS Application Fee
The application fee for the Junior Talent Search Test / Junior Bigyani Kanya Medha Britti 2025 is ₹100, while the fee for the Senior Talent Search Test (STST) / Senior Bigyani Kanya Medha Britti (SBKMB) 2025 is ₹200.
JBNSTS application fees, once paid, are non-refundable. However, in the event of any excess payment due to any reason, the student may submit a claim to the Director, Jagadis Bose National Science Talent Search, by writing to jbnsts@jbnsts.ac.in
