AICTE Swanath Scholarship Scheme 2025 – Eligibility Criteria
Here’s a detailed list of the eligibility criteria for the students applying for the AICTE Swanath Scholarship Scheme –
1. The student must fall under one of the following categories –
- Orphan
- Either or both parents died due to COVID-19
- Wards of Armed Forces and Central Paramilitary Forces martyred during combat (shaheed)
- Parent suffering from life-threatening disease (Cancer and others)/died or critically disabled (above 80%) in accident
2. The annual family income of the candidate must not exceed ₹ 8 lakhs per annum.
3. The candidate should be pursuing a degree/diploma from one of the AICTE approved institutions (1st/2nd/3rd/4th year).
Exclusion – Candidates who are recipients of any of the central govt./state govt./AICTE sponsored scholarships/pursuing a Post-graduate degree are not eligible to apply for the scholarship.
AICTE Swanath Scholarship Scheme – Benefits
The student who is selected for the scholarship will receive ₹ 50,000 per annum for the entire duration of the course. This means that a student pursuing a degree level education will receive this scholarship amount every year for the duration of 4 years, whereas a student pursuing a diploma level education will receive this scholarship amount every year for the duration of 3 years.
Additionally, for students who are currently in 2nd/3rd/4th year at degree level and students in 2nd/3rd year at diploma level, their duration of the scholarship will be reduced to 3/2/1 year and 2/1 year respectively.
Note – The scholarship amount will be directly transferred to the bank account of the student, and the amount shall only be used for paying college fees, purchase of computer, books, stationeries, equipment, software etc,. No, additional grant will be allotted for hostel and medical charges.

AICTE Swanath Scholarship Scheme – Selection Criteria
Following is the selection criteria and the subsequent method used to resolve ties for the Swanath Scholarship Scheme –
1. For Degree Level –
The scholarship is awarded to students on the basis of marks obtained in 10+2/equivalent examinations.
Method for Resolving Ties (Similar Percentiles) –
- Percentage of marks obtained in 10th – If two candidates have the same percentage in 10+2, then the student with higher marks in 10th will be preferred.
- Age – If the marks obtained in 10th is also the same, the student who is older age-wise will be considered.
- Annual family income – If the methods above are unable to shortlist a candidate, then the candidate with lower annual family income will be considered.
2. For Diploma Level –
The scholarship is awarded based on students’ marks in Class 10/equivalent examination.
Method for Resolving Ties (Similar Percentiles) –
- Age – If the percentage obtained in 10th is the same, then the student who is older in age will be considered.
- Annual family income – If the above method is unable to shortlist a candidate, then candidates’ annual family income will be considered and one with a lower family income will be awarded the scholarship.
