OTR related instruction to the students who have applied on the National Scholarship Portal in the academic year (AY) 2023-24 are as follows:

Instructions – For students who have received the OTR:

The National Scholarship Portal (NSP) earlier launched the face-authentication service in AY 2023-24 and earlier it was not made mandatory for the students to perform their face authentication.
The NSP has generated the One Time Registration (OTR) number for the students who have performed the face-authentication in AY 2023-24 and it has been shared with the applicants through SMS on their registered mobile number.
The students who have received the OTR number can directly apply for scholarship on the NSP portal.
In the case of the student not having received their OTR number through SMS, it can be retrieved using “Know your OTR” available on the National Scholarship Portal.

Instructions – For students who have received the Reference number:

The National Scholarship Portal (NSP) has allotted the reference no. to those students who have completed the OTP based eKYC and have not completed their face-authentication in AY 2023-24.
OTR number can now be received by completing the face-authentication on the NSP.
Let us take a look at the following steps that are required to generate the OTR number.
- Downloading and installing AadhaarFaceRD services in the android device.
- Downloading and installing the NSP OTR App from the Google Play Store.
After opening the mobile app the following screen will appear on your device. Select the option “eKYC with FaceAuth”, that is highlighted in red as shown.

After having clicked on “eKYC with FaceAuth” the following screen will appear.

The applicants need to enter the allotted reference number and click on “Send OTP” to receive OTP on their mobile number.
They need to enter the received OTP and captcha that appears on the screen and click ‘Next’. The following screen will appear.

The students need to click on the “Proceed for Face Authentication” button highlighted in red as shown in the screenshot provided just above.
This will invoke UIDAI Aadhaar Face RD services for face authentication. The applicants must ensure that AadhaarFaceRD services as pointed out earlier are preinstalled on their device.
Upon successful completion of face-authentication, the OTR number will be generated and shared on the registered mobile number of the applicants. A similar screenshots is provided below for the referential purpose.

The applicants are good to go and apply for scholarship programmes listed on the NSP using the OTR number.
