Key Scholarships List
The HP ePass scholarships can be broadly classified into three different categories namely, Centrally Sponsored, State-Sponsored and Technical Education Schemes. This variety ensures that deserving students who do not come from privileged backgrounds have access to the quality education opportunities. Given below is the list of the scholarships available with the application duration on each scholarship scheme.
1. Centrally Sponsored: These scholarships are funded by the Government of India and implemented through the Himachal Pradesh state authorities. They are aimed at supporting students from marginalized communities such as SC, ST, OBC, minority groups, and economically weaker sections. The schemes cover various education levels from pre-matric to post-matric, and also include special incentives for girls, disabled students, and those preparing for competitive exams.

How to Apply
The applications for most of the centrally-sponsored and state-sponsored scholarships are now available on the National Scholarship Portal, a dedicated online portal for all government scholarships. However, for the remaining scholarship mentioned above, the applications can be filled up by visiting and registering at the HP ePass Scholarship Portal. What are the steps to be followed to apply for any scholarship? What are the things that you need to keep in mind while applying for a scholarship? The answer to these questions is covered hereunder. Given below is a step-by-step description of how you can apply for an HP scholarship through the portal.
STEP 1: Visit the HP ePass Portal.
STEP 2: To begin the application process, click on the ‘Student Login’ option located at the top-right corner of the homepage. If applying for the first time, select ‘New Student Registration.’ For those who have already registered, simply log in using existing credentials. First-time applicants must carefully fill in all the required details in the registration form and then click on ‘Register’ to complete the process.
STEP 3: Log in to the HP ePass portal using the Aadhaar card or Electronic Identification Number and Password. After logging in, click on ‘Submit Application’ to access the application form for all scholarship schemes. If applying for a scholarship outside Himachal Pradesh, select the ‘Other State’ option.
STEP 4: Fill in all required fields including details of the previous institution and course. Personal details entered during registration cannot be changed. Provide current institution and course information, followed by contact details. Enter the bank details where the scholarship amount should be credited. Complete the form by providing a self-declaration and entering the captcha code. Applicants can log in and update or edit the form in parts. Click on ‘Submit Application’ to finalize the submission.
STEP 5: After successfully submitting the application, take a printout of the completed form. Mail the printed application form along with scheme-specific documents to the respective institution before the deadline.
Note: Once the online application is submitted, it is automatically forwarded to the applicant’s institution for verification. The application status can be tracked by logging in to the HP ePass portal.
Documents Required
The documents that need to be attached while filling the application form at the HP ePass Portal vary according to the scheme chosen by the student. A generic list of documents that a student needs to provide in support of his/her application has been mentioned below.

FAQs
Can a student switch courses mid-year and still retain their ePASS scholarship?
Only under exceptional academic circumstances. The course change must be approved by the institution, and reapplication with updated details and a new bonafide certificate may be required.
Can siblings from the same family receive ePASS scholarships together?
Yes, there is no household cap. If each sibling meets the eligibility criteria, all can receive support under their respective scholarship categories.
I’m repeating a year due to academic failure. Will I still get the scholarship?
No, scholarships are generally not awarded for repeat years unless failure was due to valid, documented reasons like medical or family emergencies.
I received the scholarship last year but forgot to apply this year. Can it be given retroactively?
