New Delhi, 23 February 2022: The University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES), Dehradun has announced a scholarship for meritorious students. The scholarship is applicable for all the students appearing for UPES entrance exams. Around 2000 scholarships – that range from 20 to 100 percent of a scholar’s tuition fee – will be awarded for the academic year 2022-23. Among these scholarships, more than 50% will be reserved for girls.
UPES Scholarship: Details
The University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) scholarship will be awarded in the range of 20 to 100 percent on tuition fees to the top 10 percent of students who will score the highest in UPES entrance exams.
Note:
- 2022 is the third year of UPES girl scholarships under the ‘Shakti’ initiative, which aims to promote higher education amongst girls and encourage them to progress from classrooms to boardrooms.
- From 2020 to 2022, UPES has offered and announced more than 5000 girl scholarships.
- The university has received an amazing response from female students and their families belonging to Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Haryana, Maharashtra, and Jharkhand in the last two years.
- Apart from this merit scholarship, UPES is also offering an additional domicile scholarship of 33% to all the students who are the residents of Uttarakhand.
UPES Shakti Initiative: Details
- The Shakti Initiative by the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) aims to offer 25% scholarship on tuition fees for the complete program duration to all girl students seeking admission starting on or after the academic year 2020.
- The initiative aims to provide a holistic atmosphere to girl students
- It also strives to help the academia in making relevant changes to develop and refine their professional and personal skill sets.

- UPES has been undertaking similar internal projects to foster and nurture women working in UPES for leadership roles through sustained training modules.
