UP Scholarship Portal 2026-27 – Documents Required
Keeping these ready in a scanned format before the registration window opens meaningfully reduces the chances of last-minute upload errors, particularly given the volume of traffic the portal receives once applications open.
List of Documents for UP Scholarship Portal
1. Aadhaar card (linked to mobile number and bank account)
2. Domicile certificate
3. Income certificate
4. Caste certificate (where applicable)
5. Previous year’s marksheet
6. Bank passbook or account details
7. Passport-size photograph
8. Fee receipt or admission letter for the current academic year
UP Scholarship Portal 2026-27 – Renewal Process
Step 1: Go to scholarship.up.gov.in and hover over ‘Student’ in the top menu.
Step 2: Select ‘Renewal Login’ if you’re continuing from a previous academic year.
Step 3: Enter your registration number, date of birth, and password, along with the captcha shown.
Step 4: Click ‘Proceed’ to access your dashboard, then navigate to ‘Fill in the Application Form’ to complete and submit your details.
Step 5: Upload the required documents under the ‘Upload Documents’ section before final submission.
Renewal applicants generally need to update fewer fields than fresh applicants, mainly the current year’s marks, enrollment details, and latest fee receipt, since most core identity and category data carries over from the previous session.
UP Scholarship Portal 2026-27 Application Correction Window
Errors in a submitted form aren’t necessarily final. Each academic year, the portal opens a dedicated correction window:
Step 1: Log in using your existing credentials during the notified correction period.
Step 2: Locate the ‘Edit Application’ or ‘Correction’ option on your dashboard.
Step 3: Make the necessary changes and resubmit.
Step 4: Print the corrected form and, if required, resubmit the hard copy to your institution.
Correction windows for pre-matric and post-matric schemes typically don’t align exactly, so it’s worth checking your specific scheme’s notified dates rather than assuming a single portal-wide window applies to everyone.
How to Check UP Scholarship Application Status
Through the Portal
1. Visit scholarship.up.gov.in and click ‘Status’.
2. Select the relevant academic session.
3. Enter your registration number, date of birth, and captcha, then click ‘Search’.
Through PFMS
1. Visit the Public Financial Management System at pfms.nic.in.
2. Click ‘Know Your Payment’.
3. Enter your bank name, account number, and captcha.
4. Verify using OTP sent to your registered mobile number.
5. View your complete transaction history, including scholarship disbursement details, dates, and amounts.
The PFMS route is particularly useful when a student needs to confirm whether funds have actually been credited, since the main portal’s status labels (submitted, under verification, approved) don’t always reflect the exact disbursement date.

FAQs: UP Scholarship Portal 2026-27
Q1. I’m a renewal applicant, do I need to submit all documents again, or only some?
Only some. Renewal applications generally require updated documents specific to the current year; your latest marksheet showing promotion, current fee receipt, and enrollment confirmation rather than a full resubmission of identity and category documents already verified in a previous cycle.
Q2. My application status shows “forwarded by institution,” but I haven’t received funds. What does that mean?
It means your form has cleared the school/college verification stage but is still moving through District School Inspector review, NIC scrutiny, and data locking before fund transfer is triggered. Given the multi-stage timeline, this is a normal intermediate status rather than an error – checking PFMS directly can confirm whether disbursement has actually been processed.
Q3. Can I apply for more than one UP Scholarship scheme in the same year?
You can apply for more than one if you meet the eligibility criteria for each, but only one scholarship is typically granted per academic year per course, so applying to multiple schemes doesn’t guarantee multiple payouts.
Q4. What’s the difference between the “Post-Matric Intermediate” and “Post-Matric (Other than Intermediate)” categories?
“Intermediate” covers students specifically in Class 11 and 12. “Other than Intermediate” covers everything beyond that: undergraduate, postgraduate, PhD, and other higher-education courses, so the category you select during registration needs to match your actual level of study, not just your general post-matric status.
Q5. Is the correction window the same for UP Pre-Matric, Post-Matric, and Dashmottar schemes?
No. Each category runs on its own notified timeline, and Dashmottar’s correction and verification stages typically run several weeks later than Pre-Matric and Post-Matric schemes. Always check the specific dates for your scheme rather than assuming a single portal-wide deadline.
