Buddy4Study: Tell us briefly about your academic and professional journey till now.

Tejaswini: I did my schooling from St. Ann’s School, Chirala. I took a year gap to prepare for MBBS entrance tests by taking coaching classes from Sasi Educational Institution, Nidadavolu after finishing my Class 12 from Sri Chaitanya Educational Institutions, Vijayawada. Currently, I am a pre-final year MBBS student at Konaseema Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Foundation (KIMS & RF), Amalapuram, Andhra Pradesh.

Buddy4Study: What drove you to pursue an MBBS course?

Tejaswini: The background that I come from played a major role in motivating me to pursue MBBS. I am the first girl from my village to go for higher studies. The surroundings that I grew up in imbibed in me the habit of helping those in need. There is poverty, poor education and sickness in my village and I wanted to help the poor, sick and needy.

Buddy4Study: What were the key challenges that you faced during the course of your journey to reach here?

Tejaswini: Financial needs and social stigma were the main problems that I struggled with most. We were not financially sound and it was hard to pay fees and miscellaneous expenditures during my school and college education. I had constant pressure from our neighborhood to get married as they believed there was no use of getting the higher education.

Buddy4Study: What has been your source of inspiration?

Tejaswini: Without any doubt, my parents and near & dear ones are my biggest source of inspiration. I always seek their help whenever I get stuck in any situation. They helped me move closer to my dream.

Buddy4Study: How has your family supported you in your venture to pursue this course?

Tejaswini: My family is everything to me – a rock that has stood by me amidst all storms and thunders. They are my mental support and go-to person whenever I am in need of any sort of help. Their contribution is immense and I have no words to describe how important they are in my life. I will be forever grateful to them.

Buddy4Study: How did you come to know about the Fair & Lovely Scholarship? What were the steps followed to avail the scholarship?

Tejaswini: I came to know about the scholarship on Buddy4Study online portal. The application process was simple and hassle-free. I filled an online application form with personal and educational details, and a write up on ‘why I needed the scholarship?’ I received an interview call from the Fair and Lovely Foundation team after a while, asking me to send over relevant documents by post. Finally, I got a call informing that I have been awarded the Fair and Lovely Foundation Scholarship.

Buddy4Study: What are your ambitions in the future and how do you plan to execute them?

Tejaswini: My ultimate goal is to become a successful doctor and do my part in providing selfless service to the needy. Currently, I desire to do my Post Graduation in Surgery. It fascinates me a lot and I believe that I can make use of my full potential in learning and mastering the subject. I would like to focus a lot on all my pre-final year and final year courses and postings which will help me gain all the relevant knowledge. In doing so, I will be able to use all of that gained knowledge during my internship days and learn from the experiences. I would like to join any PG coaching classes online to be able to appear well-prepared for PG NEET entrance exam and come out with flying colors.

Buddy4Study: What piece of advice would you impart to other potential aspirants who wish to pursue higher education but are constrained by various challenges?

Tejaswini: I believe self-confidence and the right attitude towards your dream is the key to success. Be Honest with yourself and always aim high. There are plenty of opportunities coming your way. One needs to open the door when the right opportunity knocks and make the best use of that opportunity to be able to succeed. Scholarships are one of them and I recommend Buddy4Study and Fair & Lovely Scholarship for people earnestly looking for such opportunities.
