Buddy4Study: Share with us a brief background about your academic and professional journey (if any) until now.

Ankush: If I talk about my academic journey, I have always been good at academics. I have secured 9.4 CGPA in class 10th and 8.14 CGPA in class 12th. After class 12th, I decided to pursue Mechanical Engineering.

Buddy4Study: What motivated you to pursue B.Tech. in Mechanical?

Ankush: I decided to pursue B.Tech. because I have a keen interest in machines and technologies. I am more inclined towards practical things than theoretical learning. Also, even today, B.Tech. has a lot of scope for the students as compared to other subjects.

Buddy4Study: What were the key challenges faced by you during the course of your journey to reach here?

Ankush: Managing the funds for my college fees was one of the major challenges that my family came across during my journey to reach here. Since the financial condition of my family was not so good, it became a little difficult for them to support my education for the entire duration of the course (4-years).

Buddy4Study: What has been your source of inspiration?

Ankush: My father is the source of inspiration for me. I have seen him working in the field day and night irrespective of the weather conditions. He believes that the outcome of his hard work is definitely going to be good. He encourages me to work hard to achieve success in life.

Buddy4Study: How has your family supported you in your venture to pursue this course?

Ankush: My family has always been supportive of whatever I do. Despite the challenges that they came across, they never let those challenges come in the pathway of my ambitions. My mother always motivates me to work hard like my father and asks me to give my best efforts in everything I do.

Buddy4Study: How did you come to know about the Akanksha Scholarship? What were the steps followed to avail the scholarship?

Ankush: I came to know about the Akanksha scholarship by our college professor Dr. Suresh Pal. At that time, a representative of the Akanksha scholarship was present in my college who helped us in filling the application forms. Thereafter, I went through a telephonic interview after which I got selected for the scholarship.

Buddy4Study: What are your ambitions in the future and how do you plan to execute them?

Ankush: I aim of becoming a Mechanical Engineer in future for which I am pursuing B.Tech. from the mechanical stream. After B.Tech., I plan to prepare and appear for the GATE entrance test to pursue further studies at the postgraduate level from renowned institutions like NITs or IITs.

Buddy4Study: Any piece of advice that you would like to impart to other potential aspirants who are constrained by various challenges towards pursuing higher education.

Ankush: My only piece of advice for students like me who are from the lower middle class is that they should focus on their studies if they want to achieve something big in life. If they are academically good, they can get scholarships from different sources to fund their education. Also, I would request all of them to avoid excessive usage of distractive things like social networking sites and electronic gadgets.
