The life of Yavika Aggarwal, an exceptionally talented and meritorious scholar seemed to turn upside down when she lost her father seven years ago. However, her persistent approach towards all adversities helped her stay firm and move ahead towards her ambitions. Her academic excellence and dedication helped her secure the L’Oréal India For Young Women in Science Scholarship with the help of which she is able to pursue her higher education without any financial constraints.
In conversation with Buddy4Study, Yavika shares her life experiences in her journey till now. Below are the excerpts from her interview with Buddy4Study to motivate you and help you realise your dreams.
Buddy4Study: Tell us something about your academic and professional journey (if any) until now.
Yavika: I am currently pursuing B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering from YMCA University of Science and Technology, Faridabad. As far as my professional experience is concerned, I have completed a six months training at LG Electronics, Greater Noida.
Buddy4Study: What motivated you to pursue a course in Electronics and Communication Engineering?
Yavika: My ambition of becoming an independent individual with a successful job position became my motivation in pursuing this course.
Buddy4Study: What were the key challenges faced by you during the course of your journey to reach here?
Yavika: The challenges are nothing but the perspective of the individual. Being the eldest child of the family, I had to deal with various challenging situations after my father passed away. I had to think about the career of my siblings along with my studies which became a little challenging for me.
Buddy4Study: Who has been your source of inspiration?
Yavika: My dad always believed that I would be a successful and proud child. Despite his absence from our lives, his faith in me always inspires me to pursue my goals. Secondly, my zeal to learn new things always energises me.
Buddy4Study: How has your family supported you in your venture to pursue this course?
Yavika: My family has always been supportive in my career. Since I lost my father seven years ago, the economic condition of my family was not so good. Despite this fact, my family never asked me to stop my education. They always motivated me to pursue a higher level of success.
Buddy4Study: How did you come to know about the L’Oréal Scholarship? What were the steps followed to avail the scholarship?
Yavika: While surfing through the internet, I came across Buddy4Study portal from where I came to know about this opportunity.
I applied for the scholarship online through the Buddy4Study portal and gave the telephonic interview which was further followed by a face-to-face interview. After passing both the levels of interview, I finally received the scholarship. It was truly a wonderful opportunity for me to explore.
Buddy4Study: What are your ambitions in the future and how do you plan to execute them?
Yavika: My ambition in life is to keep up the happiness of my family and fulfil their dreams. Also, I wish to hold a nice position in an industry where I can hone my skills while leading a way to better future opportunities.
Buddy4Study: Any piece of advice that you would like to impart to other potential aspirants like you who are constrained by various challenges towards pursuing higher education.
Yavika: My only advice to all the aspirants is to never give up in the times of hardships. Once you are focused to achieve something, you would definitely get a solution to deal with all your problems. Success doesn’t come overnight. But your continuous and sincere efforts can definitely lead you to the pathway of success.
