College Board SAT Scholarships Program for Indian Students

College Board, in association with selected Indian universities, has introduced a SAT scholarship program under the name of the ‘College Board India Scholars Program.’ Under the initiative, the high performers in the SAT exam from India will be recognised for their achievement. Students who meet the criteria on academic performance and the financial need will receive full-tuition fee waiver in the form of scholarship available from the top Indian Universities that are part of this India Global Alliance.

Scholarship Registration and Login

College Board, the US-based organisation behind  organising the Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT), has partnered with Indian and international universities to create the India Global Alliance. This alliance provides a platform to Indian educational institutions to engage with some of the world’s most prominent and reputed institutions. Being a part of the India Global Alliance, these participating universities will offer scholarships to the top performers in SAT,  on the basis of the financial need and academic performance.

College Board has partnered with Buddy4Study in their pursuit to give Indian students a financial boost towards their higher education goals. This collaboration offers up to 100% reduction in SAT fees for students taking the test in the months of March, May, October, and December.

Timelines for March–June 2024 SAT test are as under:

Important Note:

  • *SAT students requiring a College Board device for registration, must request for it at least 30 days before their test date. 
  • **International registration for March and beyond opens in March 2024. Additional fee may apply.

Eligibility Criteria and Discounts for SAT Scholarships

Students willing to avail 50% SAT discount voucher are required to fulfill the eligibility criteria mentioned below in order to avail benefits of SAT scholarships:

  • Students must be a resident of India.
  • Applicants must be pursuing their studies in Class 11 or 12.
  • Applicants must have an annual family income ranging between ₹8,00,000  to  ₹15,00,000.
  • Students must be a top performer in the SAT exam with a minimum score of 1350 out of 1600.
  • Applicants must have applied and enrolled for a degree course in the participating Indian universities.

College Board has offered 90% discount voucher & 100% tuition fee scholarship for those students who have a family income less than ₹8,00,000. To avail the discount the student must fulfill the following eligibility criteria:

Career Assessment Test

  • Students must be a resident of India.
  • Applicants must be pursuing their studies in Class 11 or 12.
  • Applicants must have an annual income not more than ₹8,00,000.

How to Apply for a SAT Reduction Voucher?

Students should follow the steps mentioned below to receive the SAT fee discount voucher and take the SAT exams for free:

Step 1: Visit the official website of Buddy4Study.

Step 2: Navigate to the ‘Avail Steep Discounts for the SAT Exam Fee’ option and click on the respective buttons for availing discount voucher.

Step 3: Now, click on the ‘Start Application’ button at the right-hand side of the dashboard.

Step 4: Fill in the application form with required details and upload the documents, as requested.

Step 5: Tick the check box on terms and conditions and submit to make the payment.

Upon receipt of payment of discounted SAT fee, students will receive the voucher code within 2 days to their email ID. 

How to apply for SAT Scholarships?

After having received the SAT voucher, students can redeem it by applying for the SAT Scholarships program by following the steps outlined below:

Step 1: Visit the College Board SAT registration website.

Step 2: Click on the ‘Register Now’ button and fill in the required details to register and become a College board India Scholar.

Note:- Students should redeem the fee discount voucher within 15 days of the date of receipt of voucher from Buddy4Study or prior to registration deadline, whichever is earlier.

Documents Required for SAT Scholarships

International or overseas candidates are required to submit the following documents in order to avail a SAT scholarships:

  • Academic transcripts, including marksheets, certificates, etc.
  • SAT test scores
  • Updated Curriculum Vitae (CV) or Resume
  • Passport-sized photographs
  • A copy of valid passport and visa
  • Letter of Recommendation (LOR) [If applicable]
