NSP Technical Education Scholarship Scheme for Degree Level – Eligibility Criteria
The students applying for the NSP technical education scholarship scheme for degree level must fulfill the following criteria:
1. The scholarships will be granted for postgraduate and degree-level courses in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, or any other equivalent course approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
2. The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of following two criteria:
- Poverty-cum-Brilliance, which means financial need combined with academic excellence
- Brilliance, which means academic excellence alone
3. The scholarship under poverty-cum-brilliance will be available only to students whose monthly income of their parents or guardian does not exceed ₹1500 from all sources combined. The guardian’s income will be considered only if the scholar’s parents are deceased/not alive.
4. The scholarships will be awarded strictly according to merit, determined on the following basis:
- Income of the parents or guardian
- Marks obtained in the qualifying examination or class that makes the student eligible for admission. However, the applicants must have secured at least 60% marks in the qualifying examination, except for SC and ST students, who are exempt from this requirement.
5. The scholarships will first be awarded to students who qualify on the basis of financial need and academic excellence (poverty-cum-brilliance). Once this list is exhausted, the remaining available scholarships will be granted solely on the basis of academic excellence.
6. All students from the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe categories, as well as those under the Antyodaya scheme pursuing other courses like diplomas, will receive the scholarship, which will be provided in addition to the existing scholarships sanctioned for these categories.
7. Only students who are the bona fide residents of Himachal Pradesh and children of Himachal Pradesh government employees are eligible for this scholarship.
NSP Technical Education Scholarship Scheme for Degree Level – Award
1. A total of 175 scholarships will be available for postgraduate and degree-level courses.
2. 75 scholarships will be allocated for diploma courses.
3. For postgraduate and degree courses, 100% of the scholarships will be awarded to SC and ST students.
4. The scholarship amount for postgraduate and degree courses:
- General Category Students – ₹200 per month
- SC and ST Category Students – ₹400 per month
5. The students pursuing diploma-level courses:
- General, SC and ST categories – ₹100 per month.
NSP Technical Education Scholarship Scheme for Degree Level – Application Process
1. Visit the official website https://scholarships.gov.in/ of NSP.
2. Click on the “Students” option.
3. Click on the “Apply for Scholarship” button.
4. For first-time users, click on the “Register Yourself” option.
5. You will receive a popup stating “You are being redirected to an external site. Do you want to continue?”. Click on “Continue”.
6. Read the instructions carefully and check the box available at the bottom of the page, confirming “I have read and understood the guidelines for One Time Registration” and “I hereby consent to use the Aadhaar/OTR for de-duplication on NSP/States/UTs Scholarship Portals”.
7. Enter your mobile number to receive the OTP and move to the next step.
8. After completing the eKYC process, your registration process will be complete.
9. Once registered, enter your login details. You can log in using OTR number or Aadhaar number.
10. Enter the OTP that you will receive in your registered mobile number and click on “Login”.
11. After logging in, fill in the required details in the following order:
- Primary
- Candidate
- Current Institution
- Contact
- Bank
- Certificate
12. You can edit, update, or complete your form in parts. Once finished, print the online application form and submit it along with the scheme-specific document(s) to your respective institutions within the specified time frame mentioned in the schedule.
13. After successfully submitting the online application form, it will automatically be forwarded to your institution for verification.
14. You can check the status of your online application at any time by logging into the NSP website and tracking its progress.
