The Chief Minister’s Meritorious Students Fellowship (CMMSF) recognizes the top 50 performers in the Nagaland High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examination conducted by the Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE).
Here are the key guidelines for the fellowship:
1. Eligibility: The fellowship is granted to the top 50 students based on their rank/marks in the HSLC Examination, in order of merit.
2. Tribal Preference: Only Indigenous Scheduled Tribe students of Nagaland are eligible, as per the government’s notification.
3. Tied Ranks: In case of tied ranks, all students with equal marks will be included in the fellowship, which may increase the total number of awardees.
4. Annual Fellowship: The fellowship is awarded annually, and the grant is continued for up to five years.
5. Recognition and Cash Award: In the first year, awardees receive a citation along with a cash prize of ₹50,000.
6. Academic Performance: To continue receiving the fellowship, students must maintain at least 80% marks in their annual or semester exams. Failing to meet this criterion will result in the discontinuation of the fellowship.
