Under Dr Ambedkar Scholarship for Tripura, the candidates belonging to the category of EBC receive a scholarship which funds their education for the entire period of course. Note: Those scholars who are entitled to get free lodging and boarding receive a maintenance charge at 1/3rd of hosteller’s rate.
Besides the allowances mentioned above, the selected students also get enrolment/ registration, tuition, games, union, library, magazine, medical examination and several other fees that are compulsorily paid to the institution or university/board. Also, those students who are pursuing their education through correspondence/distance learning receive reimbursement of non-refundable fees and an annual allowance of INR 900 for the purchase of essentials/prescribed books.

Dr Ambedkar Scholarship, Tripura – Eligibility
In order to apply for Dr Ambedkar Scholarship of Tripura, the candidates first need to make sure that they fulfil the prescribed eligibility conditions. One such condition is that the student must be the permanent resident of the state of Tripura. For other eligibility criteria, take a look at the list given below.
- The applicant must be studying in India and should belong to the EBC category of Tripura. They must be from the general category other than SC, ST and OBC.
- The annual family income from all sources must not be more than INR 2.5 Lakh.
- The applicants must be pursuing recognised post-matric courses from government institutions with a few exceptions such as students of Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) course and other aviation-linked courses.
- Those students who after completing one stage of education like B.A. are studying at the same stage such as B.Com., are ineligible for the scholarship.
- Also, the candidates who are pursuing PG courses in medicine can avail the scholarship benefits if they are not allowed to practice during the period of their course.
Dr Ambedkar Scholarship, Tripura – Application Process
If you are eligible for Dr Ambedkar Scholarship of Tripura, you can apply online through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP). Follow the steps mentioned below to apply for the scholarship.
Step 1: First, the candidates need to register with NSP. Upon registration, the candidates receive application ID and password on their registered mobile number.
Step 2: Now, the candidates must log in with the NSP using the registered ID and password.
Step 3: Upon logging on NSP, students receive an OTP on their registered mobile number which must be used to change the password (a mandatory step).
Step 4: Now, the students must fill-in all the required details and upload the necessary documents to complete their application form and finally, submit it.
