The key objective of this fellowship is to identify and nurture the next generation of filmmakers for independent storytelling on social issues. Any filmmaker, who is below 25 years of age can participate in this fellowship by submitting a short film on any social issue. The selected entries will receive mentorship, handholding, and grants for making documentaries.

Ciné Impact Film Fellowship – An Overview

Ciné Impact Film Fellowship 2021 is meant for young filmmakers who are below 25 years of age.  Under this fellowship, the next generation of filmmakers will be provided with a fellowship grant, mentorship, and handholding for making documentaries. Eligible candidates are required to submit their entries (a short film) online in either Hindi or English language to avail the benefits offered under this fellowship.

*Important Points to Remember

  • The selected teams will be mentored by accomplished and renowned filmmakers during a weeklong Filmmaking Bootcamp. 
  • After the Bootcamp, the teams will be given two months to create films on the community initiatives run by NGOs and Corporates.
  • Each team will attempt at documenting the impact brought by the interventions.
  • Each film will explore different elements including social, economic or cultural.

Each fellowship or scholarship comes with a set eligibility criteria which the applicants need to fulfil to avail their benefits. The Ciné Impact Film Fellowship 2021 is open for Indian nationals below 25 years of age who are into filmmaking.

Out of all the entries received, the jury will select a cohort of 10 teams who will receive the following benefits –

  • Filmmaking grants up to INR 1,00,000
  • Cash prizes worth INR 1,00,000
  • Filmmaking Bootcamp and Mentorship*

Ciné Impact Film Fellowship – Application Process

Candidates who fulfil the eligibility criteria can submit their entries for Ciné Impact Film Fellowship online. They just need to follow the simple steps given below –

Step 3: The application form page will open. Fill in all required details and upload the short film.

Ciné Impact Film Fellowship – Documents Required

While applying for the Ciné Impact Film Fellowship, the participants are required to upload the short film (original script) made by them on any social issue. The duration of the short film should be 3-20 minutes with a quality of 1080p. It can either be in either English or Hindi language.
