According to the official data, 23,71,939 students had appeared for the Class 10 examinations, out of which 22,21,636 cleared the exam. This translates into an impressive passing percentage of 93.60%. Among them, a total of 45,516 students scored 95 percent or more, while 1,99,944 students secured 90 percent or above in the CBSE Class 10 board examination.
Furthermore, 16,92,794 had taken the Class 12 exam, out of 17,04,367 registered students. Out of the total appeared students, 14,96,307 have passed. This brings the overall pass percentage to 88.39%. The data further reflects that in 2025, a modest increase of 0.41% in pass percentage has been recorded over the last year (87.98%).
In the CBSE Class 10 results for 2025, girls outperformed boys with a pass percentage of 95.00%, compared to 92.63% for boys. Transgender students also recorded a commendable 95.00% pass rate. The performance gap between girls and boys stood at 2.37%.
For Class 12, the trend continued. Girls achieved a pass percentage of 91.64%, while boys lagged behind at 85.70%, marking a wider gap of 5.94%. Notably, transgender students achieved a 100% pass rate – an outstanding improvement from 50% last year.
In an encouraging development, students under the Children with Special Needs (CWSN) category have showcased remarkable performance in the CBSE Board Results 2025. In Class 10, a total of 8,795 students passed out of the 9,248 who had registered, marking an outstanding pass percentage of 96.02%. For Class 12, around 5,280 candidates cleared the exam from among 5,668, recording an impressive success rate of 93.15%.
As soon as the results are announced, congratulatory messages started pouring in from different corners, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Education Minister Dharmendra Pardhan. Taking to X, they showered their congratulatory messages for the students.

How to Check CBSE Results 2025
Students can check their CBSE board exam 2025 results by using the below steps:
- Visit cbseresults.nic.in or cbse.gov.in.
- Click on the link for Class 10 or 12 results.
- Enter Roll Number, School Number, and Admit Card ID.
- Submit the details and download your scorecard.
In case of server overload, students can alternatively check their results on DigiLocker (digilocker.gov.in) or the UMANG app, both of which are official government platforms.

Minimum Pass Criteria and Next Steps
Students must score at least 33% marks in each subject, including separate passing marks in theory and practical components where applicable to qualify the CBSE board exam. Those who do not secure the passing percentage can apply for supplementary (compartment) exams, the details of which will be released soon. Students also have the option to request re-evaluation or verification of marks via the CBSE website.
